If you like live music, then this is a place that you are looking for. I would say it depends on your luck whether you’re going to get good music or not. Last time I went, I didn’t really like the first band that I saw, but I really likes the next band. The crowd is on the older side, but Ive seen few twenties who were here to enjoy the music. I would visit this place again and recommend to friends who like live music.

While the music may be good the whole experience is ruined when you pay a $ 20 cover and have to wait at least 15 minutes at the bar and there is no waitress at all. For $ 20 I expect the bar to have more people working.

Yummy, fairly cheap food and a really cool, relaxed atmosphere. Totally a local hangout and for good reason. The band was really good and the food was as well. Had catfish nuggets– TRYTHEM. They are fantastic. Cheap beer specials and a cool little scene.

Food was fantastic. However, the waitress seem to ignore us. never asked if we were ok or if we needed anything else. Despite we were left hanging I would return for the entertainment and food!

Amazing venue/restaurant. This place is St.louis. Amazing blues, brews and food. Every time I go it is so satisfying from the burgers to the ribs to the honey bbq wings. The staff is really nice and their is always a full drink at your table. Enjoy a nice dinner from 7 – 9 pm with usually on most nights an opening act or stay for the main show and enjoy some late night beer and finger foods! Love this place. Staple in STL!

So fun! We went for the first time last night on a visit to St Louis. The bartender(I think his name was Rob) listened to what we liked as far as local craft beer, and let us sample until we found the perfect choices to drink all night! Ordered some food and it was really great bar food. Wings were piping hot and perfect. The music was incredible and the other patrons were so nice and courteous. Excellent!

If you happen to be sitting towards the entrance, then best of luck watching the live band, sadly that’s where I found myself on Halloween 2015. Really really nice bartender service and I had no meal. Not stuffy, not high-brow, but still maintains an aura of decency. Can be filled equally with couples looking for a nice date, buddies out for a night on the town, or the town drunk sitting at the corner stool for hours. I don’t think I’ll be in a rush to return but a good option every now and again.

This place gets 4 stars primarily for the music. It was great! We bought their CD($ 10) $ 5 cover The chops were horrible. The ice cream cake dessert was decent. The waitress was super friendly and polite.

The best part of being hungry in St Louis is finding a place like this! Close to Busch stadium, atmosphere to spare, obviously a local favorite. Great food, music and service, we will be back!

We had so much fun in spite of our waitress. An amazing place to just listen to some great music. The food was just ok. a little seasoning would help. Get there early(especially on game days)…have a few drinks… and enjoy the music!

The live jazz music and ice cod beers made for a perfect happy hour. Their wings and ribs were smoked perfectly and paired with tangy sauces.

The chicken wings here were excellent and perfect beer food. Small selection of local beers on draft which were fresh and the service was nice and friendly. While I didn’t attend a live music event and only used this place as a watering hole, it seems to be good for walking to /talking to locals instead of tourists such as at Broadway Oyster Bar next door that appears to be 100% tourists. Much more quiet and local in here. Well I say quiet, how do I know? Only stopped by twice. The bar is HUGE and very well built. Didn’t check history and only hung out. I am guessing it’s been here a long time.

Had the deep fried grits… definite thumbs up. Bacon cheese jalapeños all stuffed in fried grits and some tasty cheese dip can’t go wrong with that combo. Love Jones was the cover band… AWESOME! Adding this place to my list of places to hang out.

My BFF and I stumbled upon this place on St. Patty’s Day weekend on our walk back toward the Ball Park Village area. It was about 5pm and we decided to check this place out after being enticed by the aroma of BBQ in the air. After a long winter, it felt like forever since we had BBQ so needless to say, we couldn’t resist! We entered through the front door where we were stopped by the hostess who advised us that there was a $ 5 cover charge. We were pretty surprised by this and couldn’t wrap our heads around why they would be charging a cover charge during the day. If it were after 8 or 9pm that would totally make sense but it was still pretty early in the day to be charging a cover. We told the hostess that we just wanted to have a quick meal, so she allowed us to sit at the bar without having to pay a cover. We appreciated that. So the ordering and dining experience were pretty standard and the ambiance was pretty chill since it was so early in the day. Unfortunately, we didn’t really get to experience any live music. While we were there the band actually looked like they were setting up. So let’s talk about the food. Hmm, hmm, hmm! We ordered the BBQ chicken with sauce, a few sides & hush puppies. The chicken and hush puppies were delicious! Let me tell you, I’ve never had hush puppies that tasted so good!

Out at the best blues joint in the region and jamming in a few minutes to Rich McDonough and Rough Grooves! An incredible blues guitarist and also enjoying delicious food! Always a great time at BBs!

Music venue as it should be! Rock ‘em Sock ‘em place. The star of the show is the venue itself. This is a perfect place to enjoy the Jazz and Blues performers. You get that real feel of a St. Louis River Front place from long ago. Nothing else is close. Our party of 6 had reservations and the owner took us to our table directly. The server was a real pro at handling the group. She got everything right… The food was very good. I would not call this place a food destination but if you are looking for some smoked ribs, you’ll find it here. Alligator soup! you find it here too. I had the smoked/grilled Andouille sausage thing and it was great. Six happy people.

It’s late on a Sunday night and the downtown St. Louis website was coming up short with activities for us to check out — lo and behold, BB’s saved the day with a 10 pm reggae dubelectronix show. How beautiful — I love all three forms of music. There was literally only one open table in the whole place when we strolled in at 9:30 p.m. I couldn’t get enough of the colorful mixture of people at this bar. It felt a bit like heaven only with a side of soup to boot. Prices are super affordable regarding drinks and eats both(full liquor bar and selection of MO beers) as well as an extensive menu featuring everything from the namesake soups(try the potato! So good) and red beans and rice to hummus and pita and sandwiches. Cover was $ 5 but well worth it. This establishment offers an authentic local feel in which the audience is yelling out to performers and vice versa and the whole crowd is in a super-relaxed mood. Needless to say, we’ll return the next time we find ourselves in St.Louis.

Come for the music and enjoy the delicious southern food! We split the Combination Special which was delicious — moist and infused with smokey BBQ flavor! For $ 19.95 we got smoked ribs, chicken, and pulled pork with homemade deep-fried cheese grits with spicy pepper jack cheese sauce, fresh potato salad, cole slaw, and collard greens. The BBQ sauce was delicious and tasted homemade. The collard greens were a little over cooked but still tasty. I would suggest a double serving of the potato salad over the cabbage. Colby, our server, was awesome and very attentive(plus he gave us good tips on wear to sit to enjoy the music). The Pecan Pie was good — not«out of this world» — but good and tasted homemade. The couple next to us actually ordered the same dishes and seemed similarly pleased. For a $ 10 cover we got to enjoy three solid bands play the blues, some jazz, and even a little reggae. The third band brought up a number of people on stage and got everyone dancing — even at midnight on a Wednesday night! Yep, this place is that GOOD!
