We went here for lunch today. The food took awhile to come out, but it was worth the wait. Burgers were amazing. Salad was awesome!

This place is located in a hidden corner that I almost missed… based on its interior design, it looks more like a sports bar than a Cajun food restaurant. I ordered the kitchen sink which is very thick and creamy. Other people ordered different entries which they think are just okay. The chicken wings are pretty good tho according to a friend.

I was a server… when I was 16 – 20 years old. I was a damn good server. The servers acted as if they just walked in off the street and had never done this a day in their lives. Setting… January 29th, 2016… my friends work in the building across the street and at Met Square, so we decided to meet there for lunch. My ladies and I were excited since we all love new restaurants and experiences. We walk in the 555 Wash Ave entrance, there is no signage anywhere to where we are to be going, but found it anyway. We were seated politely and quickly since it was 11. We were warned by friends who had been there to order drinks and food at the same time and ask for your check as soon as our food got there. Notorious for being slow. So we ordered 2 diet cokes, one coke, and an iced tea. We were brought 3 regular cokes, 2 diet cokes and an iced tea. YES6 drinks for 4 people. 2 cokes were so dark and full of syrup they were unable to be drank, the other coke and diet cokes were so colorless because the syrup was too light. Any server should know how to fix that situation by going in the back. It is NOT rocket science, it isn’t even science. So eventually after many failed attempts only the iced tea was drinkable. Our waters were refilled at all times. We ordered with our drink order. We all ordered completely different things. I had the crab cake eggs Benedict. My eggs were completely raw on the inside. I like runny yolk, but I cannot stomach completely raw egg whites slipping all over my food. The sauce was good. The crab cakes had practically no crab meat in them. The spinach on top was amazing. My sister got the corn fritters. Those I give a 5. HOT and delicious. She ordered the sampler with jambalaya, shrimp étouffée, etc, etc, when it came out is was not hot at all. It was a little warmer than room temp and ruined the entire plate. She took it home to reheat and said it was better later. My friend ordered the chicken roll up appetizer, but they were out so she ordered a burger instead. She said it was«good» not much more. The bun took up half of the plate. The fries were warm and floppy. Not crispy at all. I tasted one, i was not impressed. My other friend ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. She had to put both pieces of chicken on one half of the sandwich because it was so sparse. The fries were floppy there too. EVERYONE was polite. But the busboy would not leave the table until I was forced to give him the knife that was hidden under my sister’s to go box. that was weird. I kept handing him every single thing on the table I could find. The prices were great and the ambiance was incredible. i loved the look and feel of the restaurant, but I will NOT be back. It was not a good experience.

What a great addition to downtown St. Louis! It is right next to the MX district. From the award winning wings, delicious hamburgers, and awesome creole food you can’t go wrong. The staff is very very pleasant and always enjoy my time spent here.

My friend and I are both fond of this creole bar and kitchen, not least for the fish and seafood that features heavily on the menu. Seriously good taste of creole cooking of shrimps, fish and all types of meat. Wings, burgers also feature and as expected, breakfast with waffles, proper biscuits. Our lunch kicked off with Jerk wings and three pieces of different charbroiled chicken breasts(S.O.S), followed by two orders of entrees. Both were very generous in portion. The 4 Horsemen were partitioned by 4 sample dishes ranging from black bean stew, crawfish in creole sauce to shrimp and sausage jambalaya, chicken with garlic prawns in Cajun spices. We were surprised by the imagination of the extemporaneous instantiation in the entrée IDK, which was loved by my friend, besides, the deviation from our preconceive vision as reminiscent of a beach hut like maritime-themed furnitures or jazz, soul and blues music. The atmosphere was laidback, fun and welcoming, helped along by the emollient nature of the staff. The walls are painted with spring-green and grey paintwork, and in addition to simple blond-wood tables and chairs, the spacious room was decorated by arcade machines and a pool table. Expect, also, games and matches and occasional yelling, providing the soundtrack to the bites and booze.

Great food, definitely worth the money. I had the Alley Burger(Beer battered hamburger, topped with beer battered bacon, covered in beer cheese), and it was nothing short of delicious. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be back.

Prejudice Review: My first question in the door was ‘Are you related to the Kitchen Sink north of Forest Park? Yup… OK… Second question to myself«why are you still in business?» Ok it’s Saturday night 7PM, band is playing cover tunes, not too loud. Place is about a third full, not too loud. We get a seat at the bar for dinner. First conversation is about how they are out if Blue Moon, The keg just blew. Ordered a 4 Hands Resurrected. OUT, so I picked the other IPA. My wife picks the house red Zinfandel, OUT. ok she pick another red. After Reading the menu We pick a salad and a sandwich and place our order. A few minutes pass, OH I’m sorry we are OUT of this sandwich. Ok she pick an appetizer. As we are waiting for our order. The wait staff keeps walking up and dumping drinks in front of us. There is a dump sink at bat height half convered by a plate full of ice dirty straws and lemon wedges. WHY??? We moved down a couple stools. What is that… strike four… Looking at the 20 taps, 6 of them are 86’ed. 4 Schlaflys, 14 Hands and Blue Moon. Not a sign of a well managed establishment. Plus down a house wine. OK… things get better. Food is good and they offer my wife a free glass of wine for not having the 86ed sandwich. We didn’t take them up on the offer, but appreciated it. P. S. I think I gave the other locations a single star for flith and being disorganized. Oh, just like this place.

This place was delicious! Came in a little bit before dinner time with my friends and we were seated right away. I ordered the jambalaya, and it was delicious. One of my friends ordered the gumbo and it was delicious too! Only reason I gave this place a 4 star is because the food took a while to come out.

Tried the IDK and so happy with the flavors and surprise of not knowing what the chef will cook in advance. Big enough portions to share, but you’ll want those leftovers tomorrow! My date ordered the Kitchen Sink and was similarly happy!

Great food! The atmosphere and service was nice. I enjoyed the Midwestern burger with the house sauce. Lastly, the sweet fries are so tasty. I’ll definitely return soon.

Between the hair in my food, slow service, forgotten appetizer, & extremely loud music this gets the worst rating possible. Our server was fine but the staff and management were unprofessional and our experience was uncomfortable at best.

Nothing has changed from the original location and the newer location on Union. Service is still traumatically slow. A good description of the service could be that it is job threatening(that is unless you have an hour and a half for lunch). The thing that keeps this rating from a 1 is that the food for the most part is decent. The other plus of the new location is the facility itself, impressive at first site with a full bar near the entry and plenty of seating in the back. This would be a great place to go before and after a Rams game(that is if they stick around and the staff can handle the extra crowd).

Everything was outstanding! I had an excellent Tejas burger, one of the top burgers I’ve had in STL. Wife had the IDK, which her version was chicken fried chicken(w/unbelievably good gravy), a crawfish omelet, bacon infused waffle AND country potatoes. All with one of the best staffs that seemed to care about their jobs. Will be back to the downtown location a lot in the future!

A very pleasant experience compared to our visit to their other location. We were the 1st customers of the day, so no wait for a table. Service was prompt and friendly. The menu from the other location is why we came to give this new one a try. Today was for breakfast, and I got the«sink». It was more than I could, or wanted to eat, but very good. I’ve waited several months to try this, and was happy with the results. The rest of the menu looks very good and we’ll be back to try the afternoon fare. The 1 negative(so far) negative review for this location does concern me, as this is the same type of poor service that caused us to go out the door hungry at the other. Hopefully they’ll train the hostesses and wait staff to a better standard and prevent any future negative reviews based on excessive waits. Bottom line, if they can keep wait times to a minimum, and advertise thier location, the food should make this a successful addition to downtown.

WARNING!!! Stay away, at least during Friday lunch, for awhile. Service is terrible. Took over 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table and then we waited over 30 minutes for our food that never came. This is after we specifically asked if the kitchen was backed up and was assured the food would be out quickly. We left. A look around and only about 1⁄3 of the tables had food. Staff was pleasant and apologized and they do have a good looking menu, but they really need to work out their service issues. Too bad because I was looking forward to this new restaurant.

Great spot for lunch. I’d been to the location on Union and was excited to hear about the new downtown location. It’s not something you’d wander by randomly – you definitely have to be looking for it. There’s plenty of space inside, and it wasn’t too crowded for lunch. The service was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Kitchen Sink(shrimp ‘n grits), which was pretty fantastic and came in a large enough portion for leftovers. Next time I’ll be more adventurous and get the IDK – and there will be a next time.

We originally went to the old location to find it was closed. Came to the new location. My only complaint is the parking. Everything else was great! Okay first the waitress is fabulous. She seems to really enjoy her job and is very friendly and nice to everyone. We both had chicken and waffles. She laughed and said we were boring. It’s a Cajun joint after all. The chicken and waffles were great! More than I could eat!
