I got the best work boots I’ve ever had there — and my feet are whiny primadonnas when it comes to standing all day; it’s hard to find the right shoes. Also, today I went in because one of the lace loops wore through from rough shoelace usage, and they fixed it for free! Replaced all the loops with rivets, so both boots are better than new. They even threw in new shoelaces, and didn’t ask for a cent. Great service!

So pretty pissed off with RED WING BOOTS right now. Have been buying boots from them for years and the service has gone down hill. My boots which i bought 6 months ago are falling apart. $ 200 i paid and the insoles are coming apart already. I went in and asked the guy at the counter if he could do something about this, he stated they fall apart and just to buy new ones. i realize they do but after 6 months of light use they should be fine still. He told me there was nothing he could do and i would just have to buy new ones. i asked to see the manager and he tellls me the manager went to lunch. Weird they just opened a hour and a half earlier and he went to lunch. The customer service and quality of that place has gotten horrible. im waiting for a call but i think i will be going back to work world and not paying the prices for cheaply made product. Theres a help wanted sign in the window, and kinda makes sense because they used to have the same people working. Now they always have new employees. Must be because people are tired of working for a bad company

Nick was very helpful. I went there to compare red wings to Danner boots. He helped size my feet, explained everything with good knowledge of his products. I left because I wasn’t sure I was ready to switch. Went to three other stores in search of the perfect boots and ended up coming back to buy the ones I tried on. As a kicker he gave me 10% for military! Good job guys!

Great service — these guys know their boots, and they have a big selection of work boots. When the steel toed boots I bought just weren’t right for my feet, I had to utilize their 30 day return policy. The boots were beat up by two weeks of hard construction work, but no matter, no problem, no questions asked. Great store.

Red wing offers free boot stretching, so I have brought them my pair of nice Asolo full grain leather boots to be stretched a few times lately. After some working with them, we got them to a point where they fit rather perfectly. I had also already put over 200 miles on the boots before ever even attempting to stretch them, so they at this point, they were just perfectly broken in and perfectly fitting. Only one small problem persisted: a small rubbing on my left pinky toe. So, of course I knew the solution; bring em on down to redwing for a small spot stretch on the pinky toe on that side, and they would be perfect and ready for my upcoming 5 month backpacking trip. However, when I went back a few days later to pick up my boots, there had been a bad mistake. Instead of just spot stretching that one area on that one boot, they put both boots on a full stretcher and cranked them so hard that when I put them back on my feet, they had been over-​stretched to the point where they fit like clown shoes. All that time, love, and money I had put into them, and my boots were ruined. Needless to say, I was devastated (keep in mind that i was leaving in less than a week for a 5 month backpacking trip). However, the guys at Red Wing really took care of me. First, Greg the manager treated the boots in an attempt to get them to harden up again, which definitely did make some difference. They might even be somewhat wearable at this point, but they definitely can not be used as my primary backpacking boots. So, what did the awesome guys at Red Wing do? THEY BOUGHT ME A BRAND NEW PAIR OF FULL GRAIN LEATHER HIKING BOOTS! That’s right, and not even Red Wing boots, but an awesome pair of top of the line boots I picked out from an outdoor store. I have never experienced customer service like this in my life. Sure, they made a mistake, but the level of professionalism and generosity that they demonstrated is more than enough to deserve my 5 star review. Sometimes, it’s the service that matters just as much, if not more, than the product.

This review is based on my recent experience, not all of my experiences there (which have also been with other locations in the east bay). My Dad is a general contractor and manages to go through a pair of steel toes, waterproof, electrical hazard, puncture proof, blah blah blah every year. So I order him the same pair every Christmas, which they have file. He wears a men’s 6 which they do not stock in the store so they have to be ordered and sent to the store or directly to my house. I believe I ordered the boots on Dec. 17^th and was told they may arrive by Christmas but no guarantee. I asked if I could have a tracking number, since a purchase that expensive in the mail makes me nervous, and was told he would try to get one for me from the manufacture. I never heard back from him. When the boots did not make it by Christmas or eve a few days later, I finally called to ask where my boots where. The guy said it was odd and that he would look into it and get back to me. That was a Monday, I had not heard back so I had to call again Thursday. I did not let that guy off the phone without telling me something and all he had to say was that they did not know why the manufacturer had never sent them. But that they are now on a truck so that they could not even get me expedited shipping. I told him I want tracking and to call me back later that day. He did not, so I called him again. He called me back in the am to let me know that they are not on the truck but did get me next day shipping. Had he talked to me I would have asked him to ship them directly to my Dad since the plan was to get them by Christmas, when I was in town with him. The boots finally did arrive but there is no excuse that they were never shipped like they should have been and the stores lack of checking in on the problem. Next year I will be going through a another location in his area and hopefully do not have the same issues.

Excellent service, great selection of shoes and boots. Expert service in fitting me to the right boot and the right size. Bypass the Napa store and make the drive to Santa Rosa for the best service and selection.

I’ve been a union capenter for 15 years. Over that time I have purchased nearly half a dozen pairs of boots from this store. I only purchace and recommend the American made lines of boots. The comfort and durability of the particular work boot I wear (2412) is amazing. The customer service matches the boot.
There is a lot of competition out there, but not many match the integrity of Red Wings. Hopefully they stay around for more generations.

Well, I can’t speak for the shoes but the customer service is amazing. I recently had an accident nearby and drive into their parking lot followed by the guy who hit me. My cell phone battery was dead so I went in to ask if I could borrow a phone. I told the guys that the other driver had rear ended me and had no license and did not know if his borrowed car was insured. The sales guys were all over it. They took photos of the vehicle and license plate and consulted with me on what to do. I was preetty shaken from the accident and they jumped in and gave me great help and advice.

Great customer service! My husband comes here for his work boots about once a year. The people here are always really nice and helpful. The shoes are expensive but you get what you pay for. My husband was in the Army and was always taught to take care of his head and feet and being in the work environment he’s in his feet are top priority. He’d probably be able to go longer in between shoes if it wasn’t for his 10+ hr days. If you want quality this is the place to go. Plus it’s nice to be able to walk in give them your name and they have all your information, no need to try and remember why type of shoe you got last time.

I love my Red wing boots and shoes. Ever notice how the cheap china made shoes ruin your arches? I have noticed that if you pay for quality boots they will pay for themselves many times over. yay Im a fan

Nothing makes my feet happier than a nice pair of Red Wing Shoes!!! They are beyond comfort and I think are some of the best shoes out there. The service you get walking into Red Wing Shoes really makes you feel welcome the second you walk in the door.
The sales people are on the ball with helping you and answering any questions you have. The saleswoman I had knew her product well! Even when I politely insisted that she didn’t need to measure my feet she politely insisted she at least help me out with lacing the pair of boots I was looking at up and assisting me in anyway possible. I almost felt sorry she had to be sitting by my feet when I took my old boots off after a few years of wearing them… that couldn’t have made her day.
Once I had the boots on and all laced up I decided to wear them home. She was nice enough to put my old boots back in the box and bag em up even though I told her it wasn’t necessary. She was very nice and polite and knew her products very well.
Red Wing Shoes also offers free laces and oiling of your boots or shoes for life. I went back about 2 months later and the saleswoman who helped me the first time was quick to remember me and ask how they were feeling on my feet and make sure they were doing OK. I asked if I could get them oiled and she had them oiled up and looking like new in less than 5 minutes.
I will never go to any other shoe store as long as this one is around. The prices are a little higher but well worth it considering the service and value Red Wing Shoes offers. I suggest this store to everyone I talk to and will do the same to anyone reading this.
The manager was also very helpful and took time to make sure everything was going well. You really feel like a valued customer even if you are just looking.

Been coming to this place since 1998 for work boots. The boots are good, sale people are friendly enough, but management sucks.
I think they had a change of ownership around ’06 or ’07? and been slip’n every since. They went from a friendly mom and pop sorta shop to a callus, take your money, don’t care who you are shop.
Only reason I have 2 stars is because the boots are good. Take everything else with a grain of salt. Just wish some other place local sold Red Wing boots.
