Stayed the night in Sante Fe on our way to Phoenix. Searched Unilocal and found this gem. Don’t judge it from the outside, just head inside and have some authentic New Mexico flavor.
As a group we tried the Chicken Enchilada, Cheese Quesadilla, Beef Taco and Beef Enchilada. Without going into detail, they were all very flavorful and filling. The red chile was excellent. The star was the sides, best beans and rice ever, so much flavor. The hominy was also spot on, could not have been better.
The other highlight was trying, and when I say trying, I mean a half thimble size sample of the #2 green chile. This stuff is off the charts hot. I have never had my eyes water and profusely sweated while eating until this. I could not imagine a sane person covering any food in this. Insane. Try it but you have been warned.

Rick and I love this place. Tucked behind a Phillips 66, this is one of our favs from when we lived here.
Fast, very friendly service. Some times you get to meet new people if you share the table, or you don’t have to. Locals tend to share.
BEWARE, the green chilli can be very hot. Ask how it is that day and the staff will help you get the level you can handle. We like it hot.
This is just good old fashioned good New Mexican fare. Nothing fancy, just really good. We have tried the menu, it’s all good! Rick loves the enchilada plate, me bowl of beans, passoloe and green chilli.
