We saw it across from the mall and decided to give it a try, and we really liked it. The chips, salsa queso, and guacamole sampler was very good. I tried the blonde wheat beer, and it was delicious. For the entre we decided to split a Navajo taco, and I’m glad we did. It was huge. We got the red chile chicken, and it was awesome. For dessert, was fried ice cream. Amazing! It’s good, it’s not a chain, come here!

Great place to eat. We visted on a hot day and they had all of the windows opened so it was very nice and breezy in the dining area. I had their Chimichanga and one of their darker beers. The meal was flavorful and the group that I was with seemed to enjoy their meals as well. The only general complaint was that there could have been bigger portions. We were a large party however we were treated extremely well and the food came out very fast.

I chose it for proximity to my hotel but it was forgettable. Ordered carnitas enchiladas, the meat was dry as if it’d been sitting for awhile. Also ordered the Mac and cheese to take with me for a later meal, basically Kraft with some bacon and peppers mixed in. Not impressed. Waitress was nice but food wasn’t good.

Perhaps the WORST service I’ve ever experienced. And I’m 40. Food? Great. Beverages? Good. Service? Awful. Waitress had zero interest offering to refill water glasses, nor offering to get more chips(which you pay for, btw). Had to be flagged down constantly. We bit our tongue about it. A manager stopped by, I expressed our grievances… he was kind but the thing he did at time for us to leave was bush league. Waitress took my $ 80 cash, returns with only $ 14 when I was due $ 14.14. I asked manager if they had coins… he asked why… I showed him my shortage, and he digs a quarter out of his pocket and puts it on table. As he walks off, I said that’ll be the tip for the waitress.

Mid afternoon stop for drinks and appetizers. Sat in bar area. Took a few minutes to get order taken. Glasses of wine came out in reasonable time, but after 25 minutes had to flag server to ask about chips and queso. Finally, got them and she had upgraded to bowl instead of cup. Never came back to ask if we needed another drink and then had to flag someone down for check so we could leave since or water and drinks were empty. Will not return!

I love this place. Adore it! I’ve been eating here on and off since 1998. Wonderful comfort food. Great prices. Atmospheric. I’m less sold on their beers but that’s because I’m not a beer person. Queso and chips is great, as are the ribs, burgers, etc. A great place to hang out with a friend and talk and be cared for by an attentive staff.

The hostess that seated me was fine. Once seated it all went down hill. Have you ever wanted to slap the shit out of your self for doing something you shouldn’t have? It’s like that. Going to the Blue Corn was a poor choice. The service is worse than the food.

Good food & great decorations! I had the Blue Corn chicken tacos & my friend had the chicken fajitas. Both very delicious! Didn’t have beer this time but they have a great selection.

Stopped in on our way across the country. Service was above average, the waitress was extremely nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Only a couple things kept this from 5 stars. First, if you order an appetizer(we got chips and queso), enjoy it for a bit before you order entrees or everything will come out just after the appetizer. The green chile stew was excellent, as was the fire roasted salsa. For dinner I had the chile Colorado and my fiancé had received bean tacos. They came out about 60 seconds after the chips, but the tacos and the rice and beans on both plates were lukewarm at best. They were good, but could’ve been warmer. The beers were definitely great. Overall I’d come back if we return to Santa Fe.

As a white man from New Jersey, it really scared me that the kids who work here walk back and forth joking in Spanish. My ribs tasted like the sauce was made with a bit of snot and the hostess ignored me when I asked where the restroom is. All our drinks had a layer of foam on them(even the margaritas???). This place was thoroughly disgusting.

The food was good. the beer was good. The service was good. I give four stars because the selections were not great. The burger and sandwich choices were far greater than the new Mexican food. Not really specializing in blue corn as the name implies. Not much blue corn on the menu. I have had much better blue corn tortillas elsewhere. The beer menu was short for a brewery. And they were out of my first choice.

I don’t understand all the bad reviews! This restaurant was open on Easter Sunday, so they definitely get at least a star for just that! A friend and I have been on a road trip from Denver and we passed this on the way back from seeing the spring festivals at Kewa and Cochiti Pueblos. We went light on breakfast, thinking there would be interesting food to eat at the pueblos, but, alas, there was no food to be had. Coming back we saw that Blue Corn Brewery was open and decided to give it a try. Everyone was cordial, friendly and efficient. The bartender was very helpful with his beer suggestions and the waitress was also happy to bring us samples. The Strong Cherry beer was a bit sweet and the Honey Wheat Ale was a little too mellow, but the Gold Medal Oatmeal Stout was amazing! Almost like an iced coffee or coffee liqueur with a hint of chocolate. For(late) lunch,(early appetizer) we split the grilled lamb meatloaf with loaded mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. Yum, yum, yum! And they even split it for us in the kitchen! Overall, a great experience!

I’m in Santa Fe for a long weekend and decided to try some local brews since this place was near my hotel. Maybe it’s because I’m from San Antonio, but I wasn’t a fan of my meal. I had the carne adovado. Essentially, that is pork cubes in some sauce(read: drenched in oil) with a cheese topping. It’s not that the meal was bad per se but it was different than what I’m used to. But going beyond that, it the meat was overly oily, the beans undercooked, and the rice tasted like the stuff I ate from MREs when I was in the Marines. In short, there was a lot to be desired in terms of flavor in the meal. Any taqueria in SA could offer a meal more flavorful, even on their worst day. Nevertheless, it wasn’t terrible which is the real I give this place 3 stars instead of 4. What made the joint tolerable is the beers on tap. I tried the atalaya Amber, the end of the road brown, and(as I write this) the honeywheat. All are better than average microbrews. They don’t hold a candle to some of the beers I’ve had in Michigan but, to be honest, they’re better than most microbrews in SA — with the notable exception of real ale which comes from blanco but I drink their beer whenever I can. I suspect if you’re a fan of beer, you’ll enjoy yourself at the blue corn. I sat at the bar and service was slow despite it not being very busy for a Friday night. The bartender was friendly but not overly attentive. I never had to wait to reorder a beer, but I did have to wave frantically to get his attention. Not a big deal. Overall, I’d recommend this place for tourists who, like me, are looking for beer then food. I suspect Santa Fe has better restaurants out there but if you want a decent beer, you can’t go wrong at the blue corn.

I’ve been here many times for meetings with large groups of people. The food was mediocre. The space was great for large groups. It was not too noisy so you can hear each other talk. The beer was good. Service was good.

We went on a slow night. Service was good. Food was fine, but nothing spectacular. The triple green chile burger was a bit dry, as was the bread it sat upon. The green chile stew was pretty great. The corn chowder was fine. The tamales were enormous and tasty. The enchiladas were pretty ordinary(not a bad thing, but nothing spectacular) and the beers were tasty, but could have been colder.

I’m giving 4 stars for the atmosphere and the beer. The food is mediocre. The chips were good but the salsa tasted so bland. The combo platter #1 lacked any flavor punch. The burger was dry and bland too. They were out of the Honeywheat beer but it was still on the board… Grrrrr! Pet peeve of mine! Take it off the menu!!! As they got busier, service suffered. I would come again for beer appetizers and s game!

There are really exactly two reasons to go here: 1. The Grilled Corn and Chipotle Chowder; 2. The Brewpub/Sports bar. Other than these, it’s just any other café that serves its own variety of mediocre New Mexican food. Unlike the other location near the Plaza, this is in the working-class/service-oriented part of Santa Fe, so you aren’t seeing as many tourists and it feels a little more authentic. When I lived in the area, I was a regular here entirely for those two reasons given above. Even though I’m not a sports bar kind of girl, their homemade brews were decidedly good — and better than their other drinks. The regular menu items are… OK. While visiting two days ago, I again ordered a cup of their Grilled Corn and Chipotle Chowder — which was as excellent as it ever was — and a perfectly decent(if not spectacular) Indian Fry Bread Taco with carnitas and both red and green chile. This was more food than I could eat and very filling. I still wish I had ordered a different entre, or simply ordered a side dish to go with the cup of soup.(As like everywhere else in Santa Fe, their green chile is waaaay better than their red. Strange, as I’m sure they use a homemade red chile marinade for their carne adovada, which had been extremely good.) I know I’ll be back the next time I’m in town. I also know I need to try their carne adovada, all over again.

As much as I would like to give this place a higher rating, I just can’t and here’s why: the service is horrible. It’s actually quite sad because the food and the beer is really good here but the service just makes it hard to focus on anything but that. On this particular occasion, I had the chimichanga which comes with red and green chile and all the garnish. To say the least, this was delicious as was the Velo IPA that I drank with it. Did I mention that they brew all their own beers? They also have a kid friendly menu that is really good but a bit steep for a kids meal. I think it was something around 6 or 7 dollars a meal. Now about that service part. It took them around a half hour to get our drinks and meal order. We ordered chips and salsa that never came out and also the waiter never refilled our drinks or asked if I would like another beer(which I did). The food came out fairly quick but other than that the waiter just stunk. He also took his sweet time coming to collect the check and payment. Overall, they have great food and great beer but really need to fix their service.

Not a bad thing on the menu. The beer select of stuff brewed in house is really good, and the service is excellent. The lamb wrap with local get is fantastic. And who could pass up a stuffed sopapilla?!?
