I’d like my Cap in a glass cup please, Oh– we aren’t using glass cups because of the SBIFF. Why? We run out when everyone orders glass cups because of the theater next door, It’s 10:30AM and you have two-dozen cups stacked here, We just decided to not use glass at all because we run out. –somehow this makes sense???

The coffee is good, their cappuccinos are good too. Today I thought I would try a blended latte given how warm it is outside. I was behind two people, and when it was my turn to step up to order all three employees ignored me and looked on their tablet to figure out why they were either over or under their money. I stood there and there wasn’t even a «hello» or a «we will be right with you». Finally one of them instructed the others to help me, and after trying to figure it out one more time on their tablet they finally looked up and acknowledged my presence. Then, after ordering I was waiting and when they were done they didn’t place my drink on the bar… the slid it Across the bar and I literally slapped it to keep it on the bar, which made it slide back toward them and topple over. The person behind the bar simply said«good catch» picked it back up and handed it to me. Wow. The coffee is good but wow the customer service is real bad.

We had a better experience in this place last time we were visiting Santa Barbara. We were in major need for a strong morning coffee and this place delivered. Nothing beats drinking a strong cappuccino served in a nice cup, sitting by the window facing the nice State Street. Their pastry selection was better than the other coffee shops in the area. We settled on mixed berry scones and we so don’t regret our decision. They were delicious, bursting out with fruit, the pastry dough was crispier than your regular scone, but so gooood! Service was better, the guys behind the counter were goofy, but OK. The music they were playing was decent, not too loud. And we got to see the local bikers X-mas parade passing by!

This place has really bad service. It’s taken me a couple times going in there to realize but the staff isn’t very considerate of their customers. Once I waited in a long line, and was cut by a person right as it was my turn to order and the staff just avoided eye contact with me and took the persons order. Another time there was one barista overwhelmed by the order before mine so it was taking him a bit to notice I was there. No problem until another staff member came out of the office and started asking him what his Christmas plans were and if he wanted to fly to New York with her. Like hey, I’m just sitting here waiting to order and you’re busy with your social life. She then went back into the office visible from where I was standing waiting to order and started messing around on her phone. Before that there was a night that I wanted to grab a hot chocolate at 8:45(note: I work nearby during my day job and go there on my ten min breaks for coffee, 15 minutes is more than enough time) but the staff turned me away because they were«closing in 15 minutes». Basically saying they just didn’t feel like doing their job. It’s hit it miss for me. Nothing special compared to other local spots who put a lot of love and care into how they treat their customers.

This is my new favorite coffee shop. I have stopped here for breakfast and lunch, and I like their coffee a lot. I can’t say too much good about their pastry selection, however. I had some sort of breakfast sandwich last time I was there that left much to be desired. It was greasy and basically indigestible. Nice folk who work there, and eclectic, homey décor. The music and service does vary with who’s working.

Good cup bad service. I came in on 10÷10÷15 at around 1:40 — 2:20 can’t really remember what time. I asked for an iced tea and the gentleman said we have green, black and some other kind of tea. I asked if there were flavored tea. A different worker replied this isn’t Starbucks. She was so rude and it was unnecessary it was a simple yes or no question. If I wasn’t so drowsy and in need of caffeine I would have left. The male coworker told her that she shouldn’t have said it like that. She never apologized for being rude. She rung up my order but if she would have handed me my tea I would have asked for another because I wouldn’t want my tea to become bitter like her.

Paramos para um lanche rápido. A localização, na State Street é perfeita para quem está passeando ou fazendo compras. Ambiente tranquilo e perfeito para um descanso ou leitura. Café, chá e bolo de banana muito bons.

Should be renamed the dirty loud oven, 91 degrees inside on a cool afternoon(that’s what their thermostat said anyways), loud music and filth everywhere, you can probably do better at the Starbucks down the road.

Calm, cozy and relaxing… just like sitting in a living room. The coffee is so much better than most places. Been coming here for years and the new owner is doing a great work.

Surprised at the dominantly negative reviews! Love the atmosphere of this place. Very nice staff, coffee never disappoints, and the pastries always look fresh. I often come here to study, they play great music at a comfortable volume.

I came in here looking for some gelato. The person at the counter was very helpful, let me taste what I wanted, and quickly served up what I asked for. Other staff were very pleasant and fun to talk to. The atmosphere was great for a coffee shop. I could definitely spend a good amount of time here if I was working on a project and wanted to keep the coffee flowing. I would definitely come back here again.

Let’s stop it with the shenanigans people. This place is the cream de la crem(yes that was intended). After scouring the dimly lit side streets and the overpriced cafes on state I stumbled upon a good cup of coffee. Delicious red eyes, coffee, an eclectic tea collection, and I don’t say this lightly. THEBESTCROISSANT in the 805. First a little about moi. I am a noted croissant specialist who has munched on pastries from Paris to Brussels to Omaha and I know a thing or two about France’s favorite breakfast. Good cup has manifested a croissant with a brilliantly flaky outer layer which upon the first bite reveals a soft, fresh, delectable middle. Peets coffee and Starbucks obviously lack in their pastry game due to the frozen garbage they parade around as food and the French press provides a croissant with adequate flakiness but just not the same dough. The only place which rivals good cup for its bread quality is d’angelos bakery which has the sb bread game on lock down. While it is shameful that there are no coffee shops in this town other than Starbucks open past 10pm on most nights, if you happen to walk past good cup when it is open please head in. You will be greated by an always friendly customer service team, a low key and relaxing ambiance, great beverages, and the best damn pastries and gelato around.

3.5 Stars but I’ll round up… Espresso was pretty good… Better than it used to be which was a nice surprise — less bitter than the French Press and the Handlebar Roasters. Ranks 3rd out of 5 downtown coffee shops for me(behind French Press and Handlebar) I would say it’s definitely way better than any Starbucks /Coffee Bean you could go to. The movie theatre popcorn smell reminds me of my first job at the theatre next door. Comfortable place for studying but it has a air freshener scent inside that I don’t like.

One-star rating subject to change to five – almost everything is great – I did this to get their attention. Why? Because they CAPPEDALLTHEELECTRICALSOCKETS! Talk about gettin’ cheap on us… in a day & age when nearly everyone totes a laptop, and not everyone’s battery holds a charge, it seems more than a little petty to get chincy on the electricity thing. Only coffeehouse I’ve ever known to do this. Pretty lame, if you ask me. Over the years I’ve frequented this place as it has gone through several different names and owners – I can safely say I’ve spent thousands of dollars here. I have even purchased art from the walls. This might soon change if they don’t loosen up a bit. It’s not that I’m bitter, it’s just the principal of the thing. Plenty of spots to plug in elsewhere… I’m just sayin’.

The barista was super friendly and my matcha green tea was good. The interior is really nice. Some tables and couches as well as a fireplace area. The one thing I wish I could change: the music. I understand different coffee shops have different vibes or themes, but it really irks me when they play loud music. *sigh* I’m hoping to check it out another day and see what it’s like. As of now, I have decided it is not a place where I can get my stuff done but more of a place to sit down and chat.

Two Words: Loose-Leaf Tea This store is very unique. I have to say that their teas have never disappointed me. I think my favorite one is the ambrosia, I love saying it and I love drinking it. Usually, when I order teas in other places, it is quite bland. So, I was actually amazingly surprised that they have a unique blend and a variety of loose leaf teas. Their staff is friendly, they have consistently given me quality service. I have never tried their coffee because I usually go in the afternoon. If I drink coffee then, I will not be able to sleep. Their seats are somewhat limited because there is someone reading their daily newspaper, studying, or having a conversation. It is quite full. If you do see an empty table, I recommend sitting down and just enjoy your beverage or snack. There is such a warm, cozy feeling to this place. Even during a summer day. There are high chairs, regular tables, and even a comfy sofa. I will definitely go more during the wintertime to see if they will use their fireplace.
