Another great CBTL coffee experience… tried the Carmel Latte today, very sweet but very good. Staff was friendly and fast.

I’m really digging Coffee Bean over Starbucks lately. I have yet to get a bitter latte from them like I have been getting half the time from Starbucks. Tried a caramel latte today with mini donuts. The latte was on the sweet side but delicious. Sadly, the donuts were a disappointment.

The women working the counter was extremely rude and slammed my cousins drink down and basically threw her donuts at her. Rude service and eye rolling doesn’t make a good combination.

I go in here all the time and a couple days ago I went in unsure of what to get and the employee named Julianna was very helpful with informing me on all their drinks. She helped me finally decide on a vanilla latte and made it seconds later. She was friendly, informative, and I could tell she was very hardworking. Employees like her are what make me come back to restaurants and coffee shops.

Overpriced. Overcrowded. Underwhelming. I paid close to $ 5 for a medium iced coffee and what I got was a cup filled with chipped ice with the coffee thrown in as an after thought. On top of that the coffee tasted thick and extremely over sweetened. I’m sticking to Starbucks.

Have been getting the ice blended drinks here for over 20 years and used to love them. The last three times I’ve gotten them by different baristas they have been gross. I had one barista remake one three times still no flavor. Never again. The montecito, upper state street and goleta locations still make the ice blended taste great, so it is this location that is the problem.

Complaint: Ryan G — Santa Barbara State Street– Friday April 3rd7PM I have tried to reach the customer service line with no luck. I would like to report one of the unexpected insults to happen at a coffee bean store. Ryan(the temp manager on duty) at the Santa Barbara State street at 7:10PM Friday April 3rd called for a girls name intentionally, although I was the only guy waiting. I was asking if my latte was ready and he asked in a sarcastic way«if I was Georgina». When I told him that was offensive he asked in a sarcastic way«if am gonna have a good day» I am not sure what kind of joke that can be or even what kind of silly insult this can be either. I tried to report to a manager but I was told he’s the«manager in charge». Please advise. This terrible experiences ruins everything. I was about to be a regular and even logged off my Starbucks iPhone app!

I much prefer coffee bean over Starbucks and so I just love this place! This location is pretty small, not really one to go study at or do any work but its so fun to sit at the windows and people watch on State! The vanilla latte I ordered was delicious and the employees were friendly and knowledgable about the big selection of drinks.

CBTL can do no wrong in my book. Some are better than others but they all pretty consistent and the service has always been a joy. I was very excited to see the sweet tea line has been expanded to include passion fruit and pear berry. Both are delicious(in addition to blood orange) and the regular teas they serve are also just as delightful. I am not big coffee drinker and tea is my thing so I am happy and grateful for CBTL.

Let me first admit that I am probably a little biased by the fact that half the staff knows my name and order now. But that’s exactly what makes this place. The space is rinky-dink, as in teeny-tiny. You almost have to sit in the laps of the people sitting at the windows while you wait for your drink in order to keep out of the way of the customers at the cream and sugar counter. But the staff really does the best they can with the space they have. They are also right smack in the middle of State Street, make a killer Americano(espresso + hot water), have free wi-fi, and are all so friendly, it’s easy to forget you’re in a too-small fish tank with too many fish. ;) Thanks, guys! See you soon.

A breath of fresh air from the indie coffee shops we had been going to the past few days. I didn’t feel bad ordering a vanilla latte, though I did have it in a glass mug. There was an interesting crowd hanging out on State Street early in the morning, but that’s not CBTL’s fault! The jalapeño-cheese bagel was just what I was looking for since they were out at the Bagel Café in I.V. earlier in the week. Just don’t get caught day-dreaming and overstay your 75 minutes of free parking.

My sister and I had the small hazelnut and small caramel latte, respectively. She thought the caramel too sweet, and my drink was just right, she agreed. We had just enough time to pop over here to get a coffee during our matinée’s intermission over at the Lobero. Great location on one of the sides of the Paseo Nuevo mall. Only downside, the inside was super-crowded, though we did find seating. Just sorta sardine-y. Plus, the counters where the sugar and creamer live were kinda dirty, though it was a busy time of day. It happens.

Friendly service, good coffee. It’s always busy because it’s in the Paseo Nuevo Mall, and the Starbucks across the street will also probably be busy. I forget that their sizes are larger than Starbucks. I asked for a regular, and I swear it was like drinking a pint of coffee. It’s a great locale to people watch, if you can find a seat. My friends have seen celebrities like Molly Shannon pop in once in awhile.
