Don’t worry this is a legit place. Very smart space looks great and all of the stylist have talent. In town for an event and wanted a splurge. I didn’t pay for hot tools and i wish I did. Loved that the stylist listened to what I wanted before we started. Relaxing and what I needed.

I highly recommend Alex’s Salon. The first time I came here I was actually a hair model for Alex. He cut, colored and styled my hair, thoroughly explaining each step to his stylists on staff. His expertise was apparent and he really listened to what I was looking for and suggested some ideas for my specific hair type and look. I was so impressed I came back a few months later and got my hair done by Erin. I was a little hesitant because I was so happy with Alex’s work, but Erin was great! She was very friendly and beautifully cut and styled my hair. She even showed me how to properly use a wand. Amazing service all around, and I am extremely happy to have finally found a consistently great hair salon in Santa Barbara!

These gals are great. I’ve never had a bad haircut there. I’ve even sent 3 of my coworkers in on the same day i got my haircut, just before our holiday party. Jayda is my personal stylist!

I work in the mall/​live DT so it’s super convenient to get my haircut here. Jada is my stylist and she gives a great cut! The best part is she’ll shampoo/​style my hair post haircut so I can continue on with my day. It’s across from Footlocker FYI. Great job!

I was able to make an appointment for the same day I called, which was so convenient for my schedule! Jaida was my stylist, and she took the time to look up pictures with me about what I wanted. I also got the best head massage before the haircut! Jaida did a great job of making my vision become reality, and I loved my new style! She also took extra time to demonstrate how I could style it at home, and I didn’t feel any pressure to buy the products she used, but I think I might the next time I’m in! Definitely going back.

I got highlights By Kelsey and she did a fantastic job. This salon is so great and affordable. Best place I’ve been by far. Super friendly people, who really care about giving you the hair you desire. I had henna in my hair before and they made sure that my hair wasn’t going to turn a nother color or get damaged so they did a test strand because they care about their customers; as henna stays on your hair forever. The henna was fine so they went through with coloring my hair and it turned out amazing. I strongly recommend going to this salon.

Erin did my hair several days ago and it looked fantastic. The whole shampoo and blowdry process took about an hour which was quite long but she made sure that every detail was taken care of. It is a bit pricey but I think it’s worth every penny!

My sis was a hairstylist for many years and used to cut my hair for decades. She recently obtained her PhD and so I wanted to give her a break from cutting my hair when she comes to visit me for the holidays. So, I made an appointment with Alex while I was up in Santa Barbara on Thanksgiving break.
Alex spent a good 20 minutes talking with me about exactly what I wanted and my hair. I appreciated the time he spent working to find out what I was looking for.
It’s been tough finding someone to replace my sis who can cut my very straight hair (a bad cut shows up and cannot be hidden) and I was very pleased with Alex’s work.
I recommend him to anyone who is in Santa Barbara and is looking for a stylist.

I have been coming to Alex for over 6 months now and I never leave disappointed. He really takes time and puts thought into what he is going to do before just slapping some color on. He is very talented and I’ll continue to come back! Also all the girls are so sweet!

I randomly decided to get a haircut and read some reviews and this place sounded like a good pick. I was able to make an appointment for the same day. When I got there, they were ready for me. Erin was amazing. She was perfectly attentive, and had a great presence — not at all someone you feel trapped into taking to because they’re cutting your hair: P and she did a great job! When I got home and showed my husband he actually said it was the best haircut I have ever gotten. Thank you for making us both happy. Would definitely recommend Erin and Alex’s Salon!

I was around the area and was looking through Unilocal for good places to get haircuts since my hair was growing out and getting too long for my taste. Found this spot and decided to check it out. When I got there I asked if they took walk-​ins and they told me they do! I debated whether or not I should still look for more places or just get a cut here. They told me they had a space available and I told myself alright this is where I’m gonna get a cut. I was led to the back where I met the friendliest stylist ever, Victoria.
Showed some pictures of what I wanted and she got to work. She was really helpful, funny and made me feel really comfortable as I’m a newbie when it comes to styling my hair or what cut to get. Unlike other places I’ve been to, the barber or person who would cut my hair wouldn’t talk or give you one word answers if you have any questions and would straight up make me feel uncomfortable. Overall the people here seem friendly and cool and I had a good experience. I’d definitely come back!

Vicki is phenomenal! I moved to Santa Barbara a couple of months ago and am very picky about who does my hair. I’ve been going to her since I moved here and I never leave disappointed.

Alex has been doing my hair for over a decade now and I’ve never been disappointed with a cut or color. He specializes in color and knows more about hair than any other hair dresser I’ve met. Alex’s beauty bar is modern, clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and it’s in a prime location at Paseo Nuevo mall. You can also shop after your appointment. I highly recommend seeing Alex for any cut or color.

Always nice people who do a good job and the salons’ ambiance is great too. Hans has been doing my hair for a decade now.

I’m so happy I came across this salon! I was so happy to find a kerastase salon here. I was a walk in and Victoria took care of me, she was awesome. I just wanted a Kerastase fusio dose and I was in and out and my hair feels AMAZING now! I cannot wait to come back for a cut and color. This is totally my go to salon now! I totally recommend a kerastase conditioning treatment. At $ 30, your hair is revived and brought back to life; it feels like a new head of hair!

Men’s haircut… Hans is an incredibly gifted stylist. I walked in this beautiful contemporary salon with the standard normal haircut. After Hans worked his magic, I walked out with a more sophisticated European look. My hair looks terrific everyday. Thanks.

I have been going to Alex for 10 years! He always does what I ask (partial highlight and trim) and I always get compliments when I leave. He also is an expert on products and knows how to keep my dry, curly hair healthy. Plus, I just love talking with him and his other stylists. They are all so friendly! I highly recommend Alex, just book in advance, they are busy (and don’t ever overcrowd the salon) so it is sometimes hard to get an appointment the week before.

First impression: Such a beautiful salon. The interior had an upscale, contemporary feel to it, and the staff was incredibly friendly as well.
Alex and Jadah worked on my hair, and they walked me through what they were going to do. I was skeptical about lightening my hair, because I had really thick, long, dark hair which would’ve made it a difficult task to do so, however, unlike many other salons, Alex wasn’t afraid to take on this task due to his experience and specialization in this area.
At the end, I was completely amazed and astonished. My hair came out beautifully. I can’t stop looking at my hair in the mirror, but it is absolutely gorgeous.
In short, if you’re looking for skilled staff, friendly service, and amazing results, this is definitely the place you should go to.

I had my hair cut by Erin Brenes this weekend and I couldn’t be happier. See pics. I have been growing my hair out for a long time so I was very nervous. She did exactly what I wanted.
The salon is huge. A lot of hair products for sale. Areas just for men’s cuts, color, blow outs and spray tans. I was really surprised at the reasonable prices, given the location in Paseo Nuevo. I moved home to SB 2 years ago and hadn’t found someone good between the $ 80 – 100 places and the $ 20 supercuts options. Will definitely be going back to Erin.
