When you head in here and it’s 11:30pm and they just give you the state of wow that’s a lot of people you know that it’s going to be a good time. The food was on par and the servers were very nice to us. I think where things could have gone better were a result of us rolling in very late. Also they didn’t tell us which items were on the happy hour and which were not in a clear manner. I’d give them another shot another day if I come back through this way.

Went here the other night for dinner. I opted for the lemon grilled chicken, hubs had penne, kids had mac & cheese and inlaws had salmon and stir fry. Should have known when the drinks came out that it would all go downhill from there. I got a cherry limeade and the lime tasted rancid. My husband got some sort of frozen lemonade and it was so sweet you couldn’t even drink it. Back they went. Our side salads came out and while the salad itself was okay, the dressing(ranch) was not good. Not fresh tasting or homemade, just tasted like processed ‘came from a bottle’ ranch. Finally our food came and again, huge let down. My plate that my food was on was dirty and you could see finger smudges and dried food on the plate. Real appetizing. My chicken was rubbery and bland and the apple relish was tasteless. Husband’s penne was way too salty and the inlaws didn’t say much about their meals but said it was eh, okay. The best part was probably our twin sons mac & cheese. Just noodles and cheese, nothing fancy. Our waiter was nice enough but the poor guy seemed overwhelmed and clumsy, dropping menus, tripping, etc. There was no one but us, in the restaurant! That should have been our sign when we walked in, that the food was crap. Also, they have some sort of mechanical bird deterrent outside the restaurant that makes the most obnoxious bird sound. It sounds like you’re walking into a jungle full of wild deranged birds. Freaked us all out as we walked in. Won’t go back.

Today we took my mother-on-law out to Applebee’s for her 94th birthday. This was her #1 choice of where she wanted to eat. When we arrived we explained what we were celebrating but asked for a spot for 6 that would be as quiet as possible. The manager arranged some tables special for us to give us what we requested. Our server was Elizabeth M. who was wonderful. She took care of us with a smile and in a speedy manner but showed care and concern for the guest of honor. She wished her a happy birthday when we were leaving and helped us use the handicapped exit to make it easier for the birthday girl. Our food was great and everyone had what they wanted for about $ 100. The good food was only surpassed by the loving attention to detail for my mother-in-law. Thank you Applebee’s for making this event so special.

Veteran’s Day free dinner. We took my 93 year old dad to dinner here because they honor veterans with a free dinner. The hostess was very kind and thanked him for his service. I was surprised at how good the ribs were. We all enjoyed our meals, and there was a good selection of beers on tap. Thank you, Applebee’s for honoring Veterans! We will eat here again!

Big shout out to the new manager lady at Applebee’s in SLO. They forgot a burger with our order in Carside to Go. Elizabeth went back to fix the problem. The new manager came out and apologized for missing the burger and asked if we wanted something to drink while we waited. We declined. But, it was a nice gesture. She then told us she would take it off the bill. SCORE. The manager brought us out the missed burger. We get home. Sorting out everybody’s food. 2 side salads. Burgers, everyone else’s salads… I pulled out 3 bags of fries. 2 burgers had the fries in the boxes. So. That’s 5 orders of fries. AND4 containers of mayo, 4 of mustard, and 5 of ketchup… They hooked us up just because they missed one burger. hahaha. These people are great.

It’s an Applebee’s. It’s got the ambiance of a corporate meeting room, a thousand tv’s so you don’t have to interact with anyone you’re eating with, the kids meals are appalling(no wonder they’re basically free), but hey if you’re the type that reads reviews before going to a restaurant you’re probably not gonna eat at Applebee’s anyway right? Unless your kid got a certificate for a free meal here like mine did and is super excited about it. To top it all off they’ve got a bird deterrent thing outside that sounds like a dying mechanized seagull cranked up to 11. How a place like this survives in SLO I’ll never know.

You get better service at this Applebee’s than the one in Santa Maria and it’s also less crowded. Empty most of the time we come.

I’d never been to an Applebee’s before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but man, oh man… despite my low expectations I was still let down. My appetizer Mozzarella Sticks came AFTER my meal, and tasted like they’d been under a heat lamp for hours. The pasta I ordered had no flavor, and the«sauce» was so watered down it barely stuck to the noodles. They get an extra star because the staff was apologetic and friendly. Pretty sure I’d get more flavor out of a microwavable Lean Cusine than here…

It’s an Applebee’s. What do you expect. Food is soso. Drinks are weak. Service is amateurish. Clientele seemed older. Our margaritas had not only lime but also an olive! Go figure!

Service was nice but slow. Several tables around us had complaints. The tablet malfunctioned, so the kitchen never got our dessert orders;(

So it turns out there isn’t a lot going on or a lot of places open after 9PM in SLO. That is how my friend and I ended up at Applebee’s. The service was good. The food was good, not great… but good. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat or are out after 9PM in SLO then stop on by Applebee’s. You will not be disapointed or overly excited, but their food will fill your belly.

I was hesitant to come back to Applebee’s but we received a gift card for Christmas. So we decided to put it to use. We visited again on a Monday. But the restaurant was decidedly slower. The server Zack was very attentive and nice. Our food took a while but he brought the part of the meal that was ready first. He brought us beverage refills without promoting, which was nice. This visit was much better than the previous one. It still isn’t my favorite place to eat but it was much better than our last trip. Zack’s great service definitely made the difference.

Not busy, and took like 10 min for anyone to ask us anything. Bartender wasn’t really friendly, and after we ordered. He gave us our check without asking if we were gonna order anything else. Very disappointed.

I came in for lunch on a Wednesday, although it wasn’t busy at all service was very slow and acted like they were in a hurry… I did see a waiter, by the name of Scott who was interacting with his tables and was ONTOPOFIT. Food was good! I also love the new little tablets you can order appetizers, desserts, and drinks from. Food 4⁄5 Service 3⁄5 Experience 4⁄5

If you are health conscious I wouldn’t recommend it but for an average meal it is fine. The service quality varies. I think it is over priced given the food quality.

I thought this place was okay. There were a lot of old people eating so I’m not sure why but whatever. We were seated right away so that was good. The reason why we came here was to take a lunch break on our roadtrip back to San Francisco. Our waitress was nice and helped explain some new things on the menu which I haven’t seen at an Applebee’s but then again, I don’t go to one often. The menu has changed though so something that I was used to see wasn’t there anymore. I assume since this was a chain restaurant that the menus would be updated everywhere. I ordered the Napas Chicken & Portobellos($ 11.49) and my dad ordered the 4 oz. Blackened Sirloin and Lemon Shrimp Fettuccine for $ 11.99. That was the new part of the menu our waitress explained to us. Pretty much pick any two from the list of 5 for $ 11.99 and same with the other selections but for $ 10.99. We waited a pretty long time for our food to come out and maybe they forgot about our order which might be why it took so long. There weren’t that many people in Applebee’s at the time so not sure what the hold up was. The Napas Chicken & Portobellos tasted good and definitely could taste the wine in it. The portobellos were cut up so it wasn’t the whole mushroom which I was expecting. I tried some of the 4oz Blackened Sirloin and that was tasty as well. The portion was about right to make me full but not very full. Overall, not a bad place to grab a bite to eat.
