IHOP

Sometimes I just feel like a no brainer throw-​back breakfast spot.
IHOP is one of those places that can be hit or miss, well, never ‘hit’ per se, but a place where you know what you’re getting.
This IHOP is clean, and though it’s always got folks in it, I have never felt cramped or rushed. Food comes out in a respectable time and tastes as I want it to.
I come for the eggs, something to put syrup on. Pancakes are always a little dry, but the french toast is decent.
The people who serve here must have it pretty rough, no tips and lots of old people, but they are always nice to me and I don’t mind coming in here once in a while.
It does the job.

I ate here recently for a quick bite on my way to work. The service was nice and the place was pretty quite, I really enjoyed it. My omelette was huge and tasty.
I decided to return that weekend and it was a very hectic place. Not their fault I understand. There was a long wait as to be expected. The service was still nice though.
Simply put if you’re coming in on the weekend, expect a long wait.

Service: 2 stars. Wait was average for a Sunday morning. Service was slow between ordering food and food being delivered.
Food: 4 stars. It’s IHOP, not the French Laundry.
Parking: 2 stars. Parking was booty.

The hostess was cranky.
Didn’t like that we didn’t want a table in the back but the one up front, which meant she had to clean it.
Bree our waitress was great!!!
They need more servers cuz our food was super hot just warm.

Went to IHOP early this morning for breakfast. The business establishment is supposed to open up at 7 it did not open up until 10 minutes after 7 and then myself and another guy were told that would be another 10 minutes until they were ready to conduct business. Place my order for steak and eggs what I received ended up being chopped liver and onions. When I explain to the waitress about this all she could do is say that she was sorry however I would still give him the check for the item for a total of $ 16.51

It’s diner food, nothing really to write about… the reviews here are terrible. The pictures horrific. Though, the two people I was dining with and myself were pretty satisfied. IHOP is a chain diner so I didn’t expect much. I was pleased to see Pepsi and the cheese sticks were a really good size. I’m only giving three stars because honestly, they served water without asking. HOW IRRESPONSIBLE! NOT TO MENTION ILLEGAL. Restaurants MUST do their part to make a difference.

This place was close to empty when we walked in.
One server, no host
45 minutes for food to come out
Overcharged on check.
Food was greasy and disgusting.
Now we know why the place was empty. Seriously.
Management needs to hire more people.
It was really a bad experience overall.

Disappointed. Should’ve been better. The stuffed french toast was tough, the omelet was overcooked and not fluffy at all.
The service existed, but wasn’t good by any means. Certainly not if you have to ask for everything twice.
In general, IHOP has a better reputation than this.

Haven’t been in a while and very disappointed in service. Waitress was neither friendly nor did she do her job well. The waitress ruined a visit for food that wasn’t half bad. Will try again and hopefully the staff will be better.

Didn’t even get to the food because of the horrible customer service. It took the waitress forever to take our order and after we got her attention that we were ready, she acknowledged us but still did not come over to us to take our order, since she seemed to be too absorbed in whatever she was doing on the computer to accomadate us. We waited a couple more minutes and walked out. Save yourself the trouble and go to Denny’s next door instead.

Went here last night and the place was a ghost town. Only two other people eating here. I was thinking how lucky I was that we would have good customer service due to lack of customers. WRONG!!! The hostess was friendly but ended there. The waiter spilled my water all over the table and then never returned to bring me a new water. We had to waive down someone to help us when we needed refills or napkins since our had been soaked from the water. My daughters happy face pancakes looked like an emo person made the face on it. We didn’t get offered any discounts even though food took longer than expected, knocked over water, or poor service.
Only reason they get two stars cause the food tasted fine.
I don’t think I will be returning to this location.

I ordered to-​go and was told 15 to 20 mins. I got there at about the 15 – 20 minute mark and was told that the chef was finishing it. Alright, no worries. After another 15 minutes of waiting they bring it out and it sits there for another 5 before they decide to give it to me. By the time I got to eat it, it was pretty much ice cold. This place is over priced with mediocre food. The service is «ok.» There are far better breakfast joints in SLO.

The worst service! The manager argues with you, the host are rude, and they provide inaccurate Togo orders! They don’t even offer a solution or an apology.

We visited during move in weekend @ CalPoly. We expected it to be busy but some of the staff actions made waiting very irritating.
To start we saw once couple sat that came in 10 min after us that were obvious friends with the hostess.
Then while waiting for our food, the table next to us was served 5 mim before us.
All we ordered were eggs and pancakes. We had to remind Brooke that we didn’t have put food. It was apparent that the food had been sitting under the heat lamp. My pancakes were dried out and crispy on top, like a bread crust.
Otherwise the food was well prepared and the restaurant was well maintained and clean.

We decided to go IHOP after the last concert in the plaza if the season. We were the only customers and as we walked up the path way to the entrance with it windows clean as can be we saw all 3 servers at the host dock. Given the lack of customers I get they had nothing to do but the immature grab ass was a little odd considering the core age of the 3 was about 25. The one male, server Josh was the one doing the grabing of the ass. Food was great and the service so was the price and cleannes.

Let’s start with Arrival, plenty of parking but horrible access for disabled persons to enter the restaurant they expected us to enter thru the back door of the restaurant and then go all the way to the front just to be brought back to the back to be seated how inconvenient for my friend in his wheel chair. Not only that the female employees at least the majority of them were rude and had horrible customer service. One of the girls in a red shirt was clearly putting off her terrible attitude vibe as she banged cups and silver wear and huffed and puffed as she had to clean the tables. If u don’t like being happy at ur job don’t do customer service. common sense. on top of that they wanted us to sit at a booth which was not accessible for a disabled person they expected him to sit in the aisle. another customer and his family offered to move over to the booth so we cud use the table and he made it clear that they hadn’t been served yet and they didn’t mind cus it was easier for them to move than us. Thank you Whoever You Were! the girl told them she didn’t want to inconvience them and he told her yet she didn’t mind doing it to us. We Stood their for 10 mins cus that’s how long it took 3 girls to clean one table. Then after we were seated none of the girls came back to the table. Finally one girl *Talor I believe was the only decent waitress their, she came over wen she noticed we wernt being served I’m guessing. After we placed our order, the food they brought us was just sad and showed no care at all seemed like literally the cook threw the food on the plate. I had gone to the Santa Maria one the day before and they were amazing. I will NEVER come to the SLO I HOP Ever Again! Horrible Customer Service and Crappy made food. Only come here if you want a Miserable dining experience and ugly attitudes from the employees! Go to Santa Maria I HOP it’s worth ur drive!

The Broccoli Omelet w/​big sliced mushrooms (.a main source of my needed Vit D), bell peppers, diced onion, and lots of steamed Broccoli was delicious and healthy eating! My waitress Brooke was totally focused on taking my ‘Birthday order’, and speedy delivery and follow-​up care, plus gave me 30+ sec. to listen to my ‘heart valve replaced due to Vit D deficieny causing major ‘hard as a rock’, all calcified’ valve stenosis. And, be sure and try the crunchy nutty pancakes! All the above attention even though restaurant mostly full on Sunday plus many ‘valley people’ over to Pacific coast
For pre-​Easter holidays! Immediate seating, plus speedy great service appreciated, and delicious breakfast!

HORRIBLE, just HORRIBLE.
If I could rate this joint less than one star then I would.
We waited a very long time to get our food.
And on top of that our food was very cold.
I’m not even done, they got two orders wrong!!!
When I received what I actually ordered there was more grease on my food than anything.
The picture doesn’t even show half of it.
I emptied the rest on a different plate.
STAY AWAY & go to Dennys.

Very fast, friendly service. Even though it was busy, I was seated quickly and waited on quickly. Good was perfect, as ordered. Clean looking IHOP.

Not clear how the IHOP at Santa Margarita (SM) stays in business. I reviewed them six months ago; and gave them three stars. The steak omelet I usually ordered was again over cooked, the cheese they use is flavorless, and all this tasteless food is attempted to be masked by pouring salsa within the steak omelet. Today’s steak omelet was much like the one six months ago. The wheat toast, as usual has no taste, and the coffee (is why I dropped a star from my last review). The coffee really needs improvement. None of the IHOP chain has ever (twenty years) made good coffee. But, this time, the coffee tasted bitter, watery, with a heavy after-​taste; I could not identify; or get the taste out of my mouth. The good news about the Santa Margarita (SM) IHOP is their service. At 7:30AM Monday, the service was outstanding and the gentlemen waiter, was timely and helpful.
Question: I go to the IHOP at Irvine, Tustin and find the service at both really sucks but the food is so much better at Irvine than Tustin and SM. Can anyone tell me why?
