Speedy’s Tacos To Go

Had my 1^st puffy taco and it was great. The employees were friendly and helpful as it was my 1^st time there & I am new to San Antonio. The prices can add up because you can get excited like I did and create your own taco. However, its worth it. Only down side… there is nothing SPEEDY about the service because everything is made to order, NOT hot and ready.

I was robbed! I purchased the carne asada street tacos and I knew I would never return because the order was so light. The entire ordered felt lighter that one bean & cheese taco from Bill Miller’s.

I stopped by speedy tacos because I did not feel like going home and making something for dinner I had seen it many times passing by, but had never bothered to stop by. I decided this was the evening to give it a try. It’s an unassuming little place with a counter and a handful of chairs for people to sit on. It’s definitely s takeout kind of place. I was the only one there and the person behind the counter quickly took my order (large menudo and Fajita a la Mexicana Chicken taco). I was surprised there was still Menudo left at the end of the day. It was 6 o’clock when I stopped by. Seemed like it took forever to get home, but was finally able to unpack my food. The taco was full of chicken that was nicely seasoned along with bits of onion and pepper. The flour tortilla was soft and perfect for the taco. The menudo definitely could have been a hit or miss, but it was a solid hit. It was a deep red that was thick with herbs and spices, providing a rich flavor. There wasn’t a lot of posole in it, but there was a healthy amount of tripe that was just soft enough for chewing, but not fall apart mushy. They accompanied that with two home made corn tortillas (my choice over flour) and some containers with lime, onion and slices of jalapeño. They really provide you with what you’ll need. Will definitely go back in the future to try out more of their tacos.

The place doesn’t look great from the outside and they actually look like a hole in the wall; but don’t let that fool you because the tacos are great and food is made fresh. Not what I expected when we first tried them. Good sized tacos at a great price.

Great selection of breakfast tacos and plates. Only 3 tables. The place doesn’t look real good from the outside but don’t be afraid. Go in. You will be glad you did. They have stuff you won’t find at other taco places

If ur looking for homemade tortillas and good size tacos this is it! The puffy tacos are awesome! I should have taken pictures but I wanted to b sure the food was worth it. They definitely get my vote! They have standard size tacos, super size tacos, nachos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. Pozole and menudo on weekends. Will b trying that soon. Try it, u won’t b disappointed!
