I stopped in the La Cantera location at the request of my sister and was pleasantly surprised. The staff are fantastic, even though I tried nearly everything in the entire store on late in the day. I ended up buying a dress for my 50th birthday party that I received tons of compliments on. Since then I have purchased items online and will likely be a customer for life. It is heads and shoulders above Victoria Secret in both quality and atmosphere.

When my wedding dress was over tailored and ruined, I had to come up with a Plan B less than a week before the wedding which included a strapless bra for the new dress that I ordered. Stressed, tired and grumpy, I walked into Soma and pitifully begged for help because I could not find anything that fit well and didn’t have me worried about undergarment mishaps on my wedding day. They fit me and found a great bra plus, I bought some other stuff because I liked their bras so much. The prices were reasonable. The staff was super friendly and supportive(heh) and I got out of there with what I needed. They took a huge amount of stress out of my life. THANKYOU!

Have been here twice– once for a bra fit event, which let me know what my new bra size was after losing a lot of weight, and a second visit today to purchase my second bra by this brand. I find this place pricey, but in all honesty the bras are around $ 40 which is comparable to Victorias Secret and Lane Bryant. The difference, however, is the style and quality. I have had good experiences with the Cacique brand carried by Lane Bryant, and these seem to be similar in that regard, unlike what I have heard about VS products falling apart. However, as others have said, the style is different here at Soma. According to their employees, the company’s intended market is similar to Neiman Marcus, in terms of relationship building with customers and quality. While I don’t quite agree with this comparison, I do feel that the degree of customer service is much higher here than I would expect. For women who have been bridal gown shopping, the follow up calls and attention are similar. I will say though that the style is a bit more understated and elegant, geared toward a more mature audience with higher quality items– expect lots of neutrals rather than pops of color here. The nice thing though is that this isn’t just a lingerie store, they also have dresses and blouses, it again, it’s a particular style, which may or may not work for you. I get email updates about sales and have purchased items from the sale section of their site, as their prices aren’t what I usually like to spend, but I will say that the quality is worth it, in my experience. As I’ve said, customer service is very attentive and you will likely have someone assigned to check up on you and help you with items for your visit. My first visit was with Jenn, who I loved, and today I met a Becca, I think, who was also helpful and polite, but a little more forced rather than natural and relaxed. Either way, great service and products.

I am still trying to decide what this store is really aiming at. I feel it is Victorias sightly more elegant and grown up sister. With that comes the fact that clothes and undergarments are not made to constantly please others(they actually seem to have material all over) or come in colors and patterns you can’t wear. However, it can also make you snooze, which makes me think of some(ok, maybe a lot) of the items you see at any department store intimates department. Maybe a little older, married, and not looking to wow but be comfortable. Yeah, I think fitting well and being comfortable seems like a good theme. The pricing is also relative to Victorias Secret, except a little higher, and no free underwear. I went in recently to look at the special on their robes, and did not notice the difference between their robes and those from other stores. However, it is worth a try, if you don’t want to shop alongside teens who squeal, or be constantly annoyed by salespeople who are crawling all over you until they realize you are only using a coupon to claim something for free.
