Food is okay, but they charge for chips and salsa!

We have been going to this place for a couple of years now and it’s our favorite Taquira. 1. Hands down they make the best Mexican breakfast. Their breakfast tacos are huge and delicious!!! The refried beans, potatoes, chorizo are just a few of the things that you are guaranteed to enjoy eating for breakfast. 2. The tortillas are homemade and the caldos(Rez and pollo) are really good. The posole is really good. My wife really enjoys the menudo there, it’s not too spicy and the broth tastes really good. 3. There are not a lot of places that do a really good ceviche, this place does some really good ceviche tostadas and of course like everything they do here it is stacked full. You can enjoy a cerveza(I recommend XX) and ceviche and it’s heaven; the two go together like beans and cheese do. 4. So not many places do salsa and queso complimentary with chips. It’s another bonus offered by this place. 5. You can order an Arnold Palmer(ask for half lemonade half tea though). The drinks are huge and refillable. The horchata is really good. The coffee is good too. 6. Rice is good there but it’s relative to what each person is used to eating. I was raised with my mom putting peas and carrots in ours, and I complained all the time about it. The cheese enchiladas, or chicken enchiladas are tasty. Definitely try the puffy taco there as well. If you like carne guisada(who doesn’t) you MUST try it there, they give you these big cubes of soft flavorful pieces of meat with the gravy… heaven!!! 7. The last and sometimes the thing that breaks a place… the service there is good. Part of my test usually involves ordering an iced tea or coffee in a place and seeing if they come back and check that it’s not empty. They do a good job of that as well, the waitresses will not get in the way of you enjoying your meal but at the same time they will still check on you to make sure that your doing good. Final note, with a Taquira being within a one mile radius of each other its really tough to find a place that separates itself from the rest and I feel these guys bring it each time I have gone there. Definitely go there this family has got their stuff down!!!

This place is cheap which is why I go here when I’m in need of some tacos to take to work for a breakfast potluck or when I’m running late. I always get 16 tacos and it comes out to a little over $ 16 bucks. I’ve dined inside once and wasn’t crazy about their spanish rice. They add carrots and peas to it and while I’m not sure if this is the more«authentic» way, I don’t care for it. They do give you chips & salsa & queso which I’ve never had served to me with breakfast and I loved it. A place for a cheap taco run but not-so-much for a sit-down meal.
