The house ramen is my favorite! The sushi rolls are delicious also… wanted to give a 5 star but the service was not too attentive a couple times I been here, a good place to eat otherwise.

Met up with cousins for dinner. They suggested this place. We were just down the street waiting for my kids to finish up practice. Restaurant is located on the corner of 65th and Broadway. Small strip center with very limited number of parking spots. TIP: park around the corner in the neighborhood — will have a much easier time getting out. Restaurant is small but very comfortable. Very clean and nicely decorated. We ended up ordering some karage & calamri to start. They were both very good. Both were very tasty and not overcooked. We ordered a couple of ramens(Shoyu and Karage). They were so good, great flavors and good size. We also ordered some sushi rolls and sashimi. They were good size rolls. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty. Great experience with the food and service. The server was very attentive and checked on us frequently. We definitely will be returning to this place for more :)

Went on a Thursday afternoon and wasn’t crowded at all. Had spicy tan tan men which had a nice amount of ground beef. Broth was OK. DH had bento box with sesame chicken. Chicken was tender but the breading was too loose and just fell off. The goyza was WAY overcooked and really couldn’t get any sense of the filling. Shrimp tempura pieces were HUGE but the tempura batter had a sweet flavor which was not my favorite. Giving 3 stars to give them benefit of the doubt until I try their sushi and house ramen.

A friend and I went on a Friday night around 8pm and we were seated right away. We ordered the Spicy Vargas, which was a roll of imitation crab and deep fried shrimp topped with jalapeño, salmon, small slice of lemon, and crushed black pepper. We also got the Tan Tan Men, which I think was a soy sauce based broth with minced beef, and House Ramen, a chicken/pork broth with pork meat and bamboo. Both had half an egg, which I felt was kind of disappointing considering I’ve eaten at Ramen House Ryujin and they give a whole egg that is cooked to almost perfection. The broth for both ramens was also on the saltier side. I think the sushi was my favorite part of the dinner. Ambiance and waitresses were nice. Parking is a little sketch because the restaurant is right on the side of the road, and there is a teeny lot in front with oncoming cars when you back out. So we parked in back by the neighborhood.

I had the house ramen and the karaage. Karaage is excellent, crunchy, salty and the spicy mayo that they served with it is really good. I definitely recommend this. The ramen itself was fine if bland; oily, meat-based broth(they didn’t call it tonkotsu, so I think it’s probably a mix of chicken and pork) which is pretty much what you should expect from a meat-based ramen broth. The noodles were a bit overcooked but the meat was good. Overall, the ramen is okay, maybe one of the better places in Sac, but nothing to write home about and not really worth the limited parking. Service was good; friendly and fast. They have a poster of ORION beer but it’s not on the menu, nor is it from the Kansai area… So there’s that too.

This place is my go-to for my sushi fix as I’m one of the biggest fan of sushi. It is a bit far from my place in the outskirts but it’s worth the drive. Why do I like it here so much? Good food, fast service, friendly staff and prices are typically lower than other sushi places in Elk Grove and Sacramento areas. Their fish are always fresh; have not yet encountered old fish. My must-have items here include assorted sashimi, tony pasta, raw oysters, Dennis’ special(special creation by head chef and owner Dennis), seared tuna, ramen and Bob roll. A lot of their rolls on the menu are also good. Highly recommended. The dining area is not too big so you want to make reservations in advance for large parties.

House Ramen = the best!!! This 5-star review is ONLY for the house ramen. So we started with the chicken karaage but it was too salty and they didn’t have sweet & sour sauce so i was very disappointed. I give it 3 stars at best. But, they have certainly redeemed it with their house ramen. Well, I’m a big fan because it was creamy and not too salty. I don’t understand why so many ramen places think it’s ok to put so much salt in a bowl of noodles but this place got it right so kudos!!! As for service, we went during lunch on a Holiday so it was not busy but there was only one server and she forgot our waters… but that’s ok I guess. Definitely will come back for the ramen.

Ramen was amazing! Had the pork belly ramen. Kids had edame, shrimp tempura(huge shrimps), chicken teriyaki. The food was excellent. There was one girl, she was the host, the busser, food runner, and waiter. YOUGOGIRL! She was busy. But she was great and attentive. Food came out super fast. Parking is an issue sometimes. If your nearby definitely check it out. The sushi menus wasn’t as big but I’m not sure, didn’t order sushi. Next time I go in I’ll keep you updated.

Staff is friendly and professional, also stand outs are the cleanliness, bathrooms and great cozy size. Yes, parking is tough which in my mind is always a good sign. The lovely waitress guided me to try the pork ramen bowl and the chefs special for the evening. I want to thank the chefs for bringing me a spectacular meal. Prefect spiciness that warmed me up deep during a rainy evening or after a full day of skiing.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. I work nearby so I eat here quite often. Their sushi rolls as well as ramen soup is pretty amazing! There isn’t enough parking in the front but you can always park on the street around the corner.

By far one of my favorite places to come eat whenever I visit Sacramento. If I am here for a work meeting I make a point to stop by whenever I can. The sushi is fresh and delicious. My favorite dish to get is the Orange Hamachi. I am constantly looking for something similar to the Orange Hamachi at other restaurants I go to, but can never find one like the one they make here. I have tried the poki as well as several rolls and you can’t go wrong with either of them. If you stop by definitely get the Orange hamachi!!! My only gripe if there is one is that parking in this complex sucks real bad. But in spite of this I still make every effort to come here.

I looked up «sushi» and found this spot on Unilocal while in class at Sacramento State. To my amazement, it served BOTH sushi and ramen — as I love both, I had to try it. It was nearby and service was quick at the sushi bar(during lunch). The salmon nigiri was yummy and fresh. The pieces were good-sized and no questionable aftertastes or upset stomach. The only downside was that it ended too soon. The miso ramen was great. The quality and quantity of the ramen as a whole and the ratio of noodles to soup was on point. The noodles were cooked well and the soup overall was tasty. I would have preferred a soft boiled egg over the hard boiled egg, but hey, I can’t complain — it came with the soup and I didn’t need to ask for it extra. The serving was good-sized and I couldn’t finish it. Parking was a little difficult, but I managed to park in the parking lot. There are only a few spots in this smaller plaza and it may be a bit confusing with the«20 minute» parking signs next to the«2 hours maximum» outside. I’d imagine that if I came on a busier night I may have needed to park into the residential area. I remember once reading that Japanese restaurants typically only specialize in one sort of cooking(ramen only, sushi only, etc.). Kansai, however, was able to do a good job with both! Overall, I’d probably come back when in the area.

This was a nice little Ramen and Sushi place next to Starbucks. There isn’t much parking so I had to park around the corner in the residential area. I came in right around dinner time and was seated promptly. The menu was pretty simple from drinks to Ramen and sushi. I had a small drink, Uni special and House Ramen. My drink and Uni from the sushi bar came out first. The sushi was very fresh. Then the Ramen noodles came out. The presentation was very nice and the soup was hot and well flavored.

I am in love with this place, this is our sushi spot! It’s not the type of place that has a 10 page roll menu, nor will you see 50% off signs posted at all times(uh…why not just change the price?) but it is damn delicious. Even better, say you have someone in your party that’s not a big sushi person… they do ramen which is also delicious! It’s a small storefront and generally pretty busy which is just a testament to what a little gem it is. THEFOOD We always start with the SPICYEDAMAME… only regular edamame is listed but you can ask for it and it is garlicky goodness. The CALAMARI is cheap, a plentiful serving, peppery, and crisp with a yummy dipping sauce. Ugh, it’s the best and I want it allll the time. The SPICYVARGAS is our roll of choice. It comes atopped with sliced jalapeños and thin sliced lemon, citrus and heat, that’s my jam. I’ve also had two of the SASHIMI, one citrus flavored served in an orange, and the other with jalapeño. Both are great options to keep it light. Love this place!

Decided to come here with a friend of mine around 6pmish on a Friday night. It was a bit busy but we got our seats instantly. Just to warn you, parking sucks a lot so you have to be lucky to find a spot. If you don’t you probably need to park along the streets. Service here is good, order was taken quickly, and food came out fairly fast. My friend and I weren’t that hungry so we decided to share the Spicy Tan Tan Man and the Spicy Vargas Roll. Both the ramen and the roll were pretty good but nothing too awesome. The Tan Tan wasn’t too spicy and I liked that but others might not: P With they gave a little bit more meat though and less noodles. I really liked the Spicy Vargas roll though I’m not a bit fan of jalapenos. Overall: 3.5 stars Decent place for ramen and sushi. I’ll be back maybe to try the«D»…the Spicy D Roll that is…

Kansai is located in a small Wingstop & Starbucks with the world’s tiniest parking lot.(Seriously, it’s a struggle to find parking around there.) I came here on a weekend night with some friends and we were seated right away. The waitresses and waiters were friendly but they also seem pretty busy(so don’t expect a 5-star service). They also kept rushing us to order in the beginning. As for the food, we ordered some ramen bowls(House Ramen & Kakuni Ramen), Kansai roll(their biggest roll) and the Pepperfin. The ramen was pretty good, although the broth started to get a little salty towards the end. I got the House Ramen. The char-su was thicker than most ramen places. I also appreciate that it was not as fatty as other places. The Kansai roll was really big and had unagi(eel), on top, which I liked. They don’t seem to be too stingy with the amount of fish on top so that’s a plus. Nothing too special about the taste of it, but I would still recommend it. The Pepperfin was a carpaccio/sashimi type of dish. It comes with jalapeño slices on top that gives it a good kick when eaten together. The fish by itself was also very fresh and the flavoring of the sauce(sesame oil & soy sauce mix?) made this very satisfying. If I come here again, I would definitely try out their other sashimi dishes! Overall, I think this place is a 3.5, but since the sushi roll was pretty impressive and their pricing is good, I’ll round up :) Would come here again to try the other rolls & ramen!

Real cute restaurant right off the freeway. It was nice to have a comfort meal coming home from a weekend in Tahoe. On a Sunday, around 1:00pm, the place was fairly empty. We were seated immediately and handed menus. There are a lot of different types of soup and a huge page of just sushi rolls. We all ordered Ramen and it didn’t take long before out soup was brought out. The Ramen was good. Lots of noodles, corn and veg. Two good sized pieces of pork that I didn’t care for(suuuuuuuper salty). The broth was amazing! Service was alright. A little slow, only one waitress and it got much busier as time went on. Prices for the soup was about 9 bucks. Pretty appropriate. I would eat here again. The sushi menu had a ton of rolls that looked delicious!

We would give 2 star for Kakuni ramen because the porkbelly not tasted good and not fresh. However, I would give 4.5 star for Tan Tan men. If you like to go there, Spicy Tan Tan men is a good choice. Btw, the parking is not very good.

I’m glad we finally have a ramen & sushi house in our area. I love a good bowl of Ramen and their Spicy Tan Tan was very tasty! Broth perfect not salty and I would have asked to order extra noodles if possible. Also tried the Hornet Sushi Roll, Ahi Poke, Shrimp Tempura YUMMMY. We will return again very soon. Parking: a couple of stalls on a small strip try around the corner on Broadway for street parking

Let me tell you, it is very nice to have a local ramen spot in the east sac area. This place is good and I will be back when I have another craving for ramen. This place also has sushi. The ramen and sushi I tried was very delicious. Not only is it beautifully presented but it is also quite good. The service is quick, efficient and the servers are nice. The parking is difficult because it is also connected to other businesses and there is very limited parking on that corner. I would park in the neighborhood and walk around. It’s easier that way. Thank you so much for opening Kansai on 65th street! I can’t wait to come back with my friends.
