Pretty neat spot here, especially for the beer lover. Many, many, many taps to choose from along with daily specials. Something for everyone here drink wise. I also ordered one of their specialty deli sandwiches. I created my own and added roast beef as my meat along with a selection of ingredients. It was a tasty sandwich, nothing that set fireworks off but for lunch, there are worse options. Pretty convenient if you are at the hotel a few minutes down the road.

Bartenders tends to focused on certain parts of the bars and leave the rest at other parts of the bar thirsty and waiting. Perhaps they need more staff, or just more attentive to other patrons at other parts of the bar.

Awesome food, great signature sandwiches and a fun atmosphere! Would definitely recommend! Was in a hurry, place was packed and they nailed it! This place is great for large groups or just the two of you. Enjoyed the beers on tap! Only reason they didn’t get a 5 star was we ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer and it came after we started to eat our meal. Don’t let this deter you as I was keep this on my top list!

My wife and I have been going to the Jefferson Road MacGregor’s since they first opened, 2 – 3 times per month. The draft beer selection is phenomenal and there are always several daily specials from which to choose. What has always amazed us is the high turnover of managers and wait staff. It must be that there is a high turnover in the kitchen as well. The food has always been somewhat inconsistent. My wife often orders the quesadilla, her«safe» choice. On our most recent visit(1⁄16) the cheese in her quesadilla was not even melted, nor were the tortillas grilled. I ordered the pretzelicious sandwich with waffle fries. My order came with steak fries. The waitress quickly(about 1 minute) replaced the steak fries with waffle fries. The fries were not hot and tasted as though they had been sitting out for some time. We would love for MacGregor’s to be our go-to bar for pub grub and beer but the food needs to be better!

Service is truly hit or miss. Mostly hit, but sometimes you run into a truly horrible bartender or waitress(ie, bartender that doesn’t clear your seating area at the bar!). Beer selection and specials are a 5 star at McGreggors. Food menu sounds pretty good but execution a bit lacking. In former days, would have given this place a 4 or 5 star but with the proliferation of gastro-pubs in the past several years I am starting to expect a bit more.

As most have said, good beer selection. Bar tenders can make just about any mixed drink you could want. Food is overpriced for what you get. Now my biggest concern is that the kitchen closes at 1. That means you stop making food at 1. Not 12:45. 1. Our bartender told us we couldn’t order food at 12:30. That is ridiculous. I work in a bar. If I ever told customers that I couldn’t serve them even though the kitchen was still open, I would probably get fired. Your kitchen staff has already started cleaning up, and now they don’t want to make a mess of what they’ve already cleaned. I’m sorry, but they shouldn’t start to take care of that stuff until the kitchen is closed. If someone orders something before 1. You make it for them. End of story.

Their massive tap collection used to be a big draw but now I think I’m spoiled by all the high quality beer available around Rochester and their selection doesn’t have the sparkle it used to. This is a college bar near RIT — good food and a friendly atmosphere on the nights I’ve been, not particularly rowdy. Expect to see a lot of students — your bartenders also will be most likely. They have a good food selection and some TV’s if you’re looking to watch a game — I recommend the Reuben — get corned beef(they have turkey available also for an inferior avian sandwich)

Staff can be callous and rude. They know their regulars if you can afford to be one and will go above and beyond to cater to them. Everyone else basically just gets kicked aside. I’ve waited over 10 – 15 minutes on a weekday for a drink before just because the bartender is busy watching the game or fooling around with his coworkers. Food is pretty good, the Irish Nachos are one of my favorites. It’s a nice place to kick back and have a beer. The atmosphere overall is pretty nice and relaxed. Their security is AWFUL. They checked my friend’s ID for a solid 10 minutes(seriously, it was getting ridiculous) and completely ignored us greeting them cheerily. We weren’t drunk or annoying at all, the guy just decided to roll his eyes instead of saying a simple«hello» back. I’d never had trouble with them tonight but came in today to an absolutely filthy bar. Nothing was cleared and it wasn’t crowded either so there was really no excuse. My friend accidentally knocked over her purse at one point and she had one of those tiny hotel liquor bottles in there. The bouncer or whatever happened to be by the bar, pocketed it, and walked away. She shrugged it off figuring it was some rule. Over twenty minutes later, he came by and told us that we had to leave immediately. You could also smell the alcohol on his breath. Why wouldn’t you tell us right then if it was such a problem. You really had to leave and then come back? Left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the night. The majority of your business is college students and I hope you guys don’t forget that. Continue to write us off and we won’t be coming back.

I came here on a Friday night and it was ok. The crowd is definitely varied, with some college kids and some old timers. The beer selection was pretty good and I loved the beer flight options that they had. Also, the pulled pork pizza is amazing! Definitely had never had anything like it. It’s a little out of the way, so it’s kind of hard to party hard unless you have a designated driver.

Food is pretty good, I’m a fan of their pub sandwiches. The wings are hit or miss. The service is slow though. It’s fine for a casual dinner, but not when you’re on your lunch break. I recommend their beer flights. Great selection.

Went on Saturday afternoon/evening. The bartender must have been having a bad day; she was angry about something, disinterested and never smiled or acted friendly in any way. For someone so young, she needs to lighten up. We tip good, but not for her. The beer was crazy overpriced — Boston Lager $ 18.00 a pitcher; the beer is good, but not that good. Hadn’t been there in a while because we got turned off by the loud FM radio station playing one afternoon, it was so loud you had to shout to talk. We asked them to turn it down, but they did not. Will not be running back there any time soon.

Food is just ok here, lots of beer here on tap. Very nice variety, they will let you sample. Staff could be friendlier.

A decent bar for something close by to a college. Have some good beers on tap and the food ain’t too bad. I love the fish and chips and the cow vs pig burger. Have pool tables and darts for a dollar a game. Bartenders are usually nice but have a hard time keeping up on busy days. There is this Asian bartender that is fast and usually know what I want.

«Aw man, they’ are gonna get Unilocaled for this one.»… and it is not gonna be pretty. I am definitely one to be generous with criticism, but I like to think I’m generous with compliments when they’re due too and I do try to take responsibility when I am partially at fault for things going wrong… at least on Unilocal,ha. But there is no room to be open-minded about this experience, it was needlessly stupid and bad. I didn’t eat breakfast because I didn’t have time, and I was picking my bf up from the airport at noon so I knew he’d be hungry too. We went to MacGreggors on the way home, and as a result of its sheer shitasticness, I am now currently having my first meal of the day, at home. It is 4pm, Eastern Standard Time.(I had to stop at the store because we didn’t have any food, which is why we went out for a «quick» bite in the first place.) Let’s start at the beginning– our server was high. There is about a .5% chance that she wasn’t high, just based on what I know of people who walk around high at work. She fit the description. Anyway, I had to send my food back– which really, honestly, I never do. What was this complicated meal I got that they couldn’t figure out? Nachos. That’s right, a restaurant– more specifically, a person that cooks food for a living– messed up nachos. TWICE! The first time it came out I got it with chicken, and I took one bite of the chicken and knew something was off. I had my bf try it too, he said it was definitely old. Old wasn’t the word I was thinking of, more along the lines of rancid, but I supposed that can be the same thing. D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G. Server was no where around *cough*outgettinghigh*cough*, so I went to the bartender, who by the way was awesome, and asked if they could just remake it without chicken, no big deal. The second time it came out, which took longer than necessary for nachos, especially a refire(aka do-over) they were cold, which isn’t too much a of a deal breaker except half the cheese was never melted. I’ll post a pic. Dude, it’s a plate of melted cheese on chips, there are two steps: 1. Place cheese on chips 2. Melt cheese YOUSKIPPEDHALFTHESTEPS Also, to clarify, the server didn’t know anything about it until she meandered by and noticed I had no food, at which point she went into the kitchen and came back out with them, so the food was done before she even knew what happened. Toke up, hunny. The manager seemed to give zero f – ks, never came over, never said anything to me, in fact I’m fairly certain he never left the kitchen, except to stand in the doorway when my bf had to go over there to tell the server– who never came back– that we weren’t paying for them. So what’s the take away here? If you can’t melt cheese, maybe cooking is not your calling. If that’s too hard for you, perhaps you can switch to waiting tables… I hear that job is so easy you can do it high.(just kidding, it’s not actually easy)

This MacGregors is my favorite in all of Rochester. They have enough space for everyone to enjoy themselves. Speedy and efficient bartenders as well as courteous and friendly service. Great chicken wings and burgers. Make sure you get there before it gets busy though because we’ve had to turn around a few times due to lack of seating at lunch time. Overall good spot for a drink or two

I came here for the first time a few months ago for a work event. We had our own area and had food and drinks and played some of the games. The waitress of our section was very nice and very efficient getting us drinks and anything else we may have needed. The food was pretty good but it was very confusing… nothing was separated into appetizers and then a main so we were all confused as to what else may be coming out for us to eat. There was not enough space for plates and the like and we had to ask for bigger dinner plates and not just small plates for appetizers. It could be a little cleaner, but it is basically a bar that serves food so I can’t really complain. I probably wouldn’t ever come here on my own but I wouldn’t be upset if we came as a group.

Alright, so the food here is pretty average bar food. Regular appetizer options and grease level. BUT… The beer list!!! It is so stinkin good, and the staff is so knowledgeable on all of the beers. The beer list makes this the perfect local go-to place for a drink. They have dollar pool games, and I think a few other games to play. Lots and lots of seating, but it does tend to get busy on weekends. We love this place and highly recommend it for a chill night out for drinks with friends.

This is a good bar for the College crowd and sports loving crowd. The food is not bad, the have tons of screens and the service is nice and efficient. The have a decently sized beer list also. I ordered the beef and pork burger(basically a bacon cheeseburger with thick bacon. The burger was cooked to my specifications, medium, but it still wasn’t juicy. The steak fries weren’t bad All in all a decent place

Not really my kind of place but I end up here every so often with friends that live around campus. It’s definitely the local watering hole for RIT students. They do have a great beer selection on tap and cheap(ish) prices. As for the food, I personally wouldn’t come here looking for a full meal, but they do have some good looking options to snack on at the bar.
