Pickle Nick’s is a hidden, beaten-up looking little place in Henrietta. I gave it a second glance only because I liked the name! The sandwiches are HUGE, hot, and delicious. However, they are pretty greasy, so we don’t eat here too often. The chicken parmesan and philly cheesesteak sandwiches are definite winners — and definitely something you’ll want to split with a friend! Pickle Nick’s is a great, cheap lunch option worth checking out.

Ok, so at first glance, this place looked really run down. I honestly thought this was a place I wasn’t going to visit … until I saw the review Unilocal’s. Low and behold! It’s true what they say, «you can’t judge a book by its cover.» The subs here are a.m.a.z.i.n.g. First off, I was surprised that their large option was 14″ so it’s seriously bigger. But, not only that, it’s even wider than Subway’s subs! Longer? Wider? Meaning more stuff inside! I can easily finish a Subway footlong and have to convince myself not to order more food. But here, I ate only half(7″) of the sub and I was full! I got the Godfather and gawd it was huge. The 14″ bread is no joke and inside had 3 full sausages, plus the onions and peppers, plus cappicola. I didn’t know what cappicola was until I tried it here and wow, it’s good.(It is an Italian pork cut if you wanted to know ;D). The place is really small so if you come in a large group, you’re probably going to have to take out unless some people don’t mind standing to eat. Also, the staff was very congenial and not only cared that I was doing well, but to the other customers as well. This place has shown me that there’s is another whole level of what sub sandwiches can be! I’ve had some good subs above Subway, but I’m making a new class in my heart, and stomach, for subs that are on this grand level!

Fantastic does not even begin to describe my consistent level of service. For months Nick has faithfully served me a exceptional chicken salad sub with bacon with impeccable quality. The bacon made daily often is abundant and cooked perfectly. Not too crispy and not too soft. The chicken salad has a signature amount of dill, and always ample for the sub roll. I salivate recanting the details of this perfect everything sub roll and savory seasonings for my sandwich. Nick remembered my name when I came by often enough, and always payed close attention to the details of my order. I gave them repeat business due to their great prices, delicious food and impeccable service. When it comes to an in between work study or break lunch time venue, I always wanted to having a quiet sandwich at Nick’s. Pickle Nick’s was a gem that stood out in rochester’s food scene.

I went for the first time today. Food was great and the people working were really nice. I got the big show with boss sauce and it was amazing. I would recommend to anyone if you have never been.
