This is the last night for the tavern. Kitchen was closed. Serving beers only. Very disappointed.

Rather than wait 40 minutes for a table on the waterfront, my friends and I came upon this tavern. I usually find some of the best food at the obscure mom & pop joints, so I was looking forward to the experience. A couple of pointers before I talk about the food. First, there is no air conditioning. So, be prepared for it to be toasty inside during the summer. It might be better to sit on their deck. Second, if you sit inside at one of the tables next to the bar & it is later in the day, do not face the front of the tavern. There’s a terrible sun glare that reflects up from the floor. Another reason perhaps to sit on the deck. I ordered the fish & chips. The portion was generous. The fish was hot and coated in a delightfully crispy breading. The fries were good also. They were sort of standard cafeteria type fries. Nothing too exciting, but you got a lot of them. The cole slaw was overly bitter for my liking. Priced at $ 13.99, the dinner was maybe a dollar or two more than what it should have been. Overall, I was satisfied. One of my friends ordered a tuna melt with kettle chips. He cleaned his plate and offered no complaints. My other friend ordered a linguica pizza, which arrived after my dinner & the tuna melt. We all were amazed at the amount of grease that bubbled to the surface of the pizza when it was delivered. He used maybe 8 napkins to absorb the grease. If you like greasy bar pizza, you really would have got your money’s worth. My friend had one other gripe with the pizza. He said it really wasn’t linguica on it. Instead, he said it was hot dog pieces sprinkled with some spices. I don’t know linguica from hot dogs, so I’m just relaying his lament. Out of the 3 of us, he was the most dissatisfied with his meal. For our 3 meals, 2 sodas, and 1 beer, the total came to $ 53 with tax and tip. Overall, not a bad deal. The service was also good. There are a lot of taverns like this one in Plymouth. I probably wouldn’t go back because I’m not in town often and would like to try other options. However, it is worth a visit if the way times are ridiculous at the other restaurants.

Cool place. Hash Benny for breakfast. And Bob Marley on the box. Looks like lunch or happy hour would also be a good choice.

My husband loves the burgers here, and my favorite are the fish tacos. Yummy. Friendly and attentive staff and so accommodating. Will cook things by request. I am a picky eater so this to me is wonderful. Great place with homey atmosphere. I

We stopped here for brunch on a beautiful late-December morning recently. My girlfriend and I could not have been more impressed by the Park Place Tavern. I’ll start with the service. Prompt, attentive, enthusiastic, and helpful. We sat at a table while everyone else was seated at the bar. The bartender was forced to make trip after trip to our table from behind the bar. He did so with no complaint and genuinely seemed happy to do so. His recommendations for brunch(the Chilichanga(hope I spelled it right) and the Hash Benny) were excellent, and spot on for what we were looking for. The food was fresh, inspired, and delicious! Not your typical brunch bar fare. I’m not sure if we’ll be back in Plymouth any time soon, but if we are, we’re coming back for sure!

We happened to find it one morning while driving around looking to eat breakfast. Looked good, went in and ordered up from a very limited menu. Food was OK, but definitely weird having country music blasting with 3 or 4 guys drinking at the bar at 9:30 in the morning. Not exactly family fun, but no complaints if you’re with a few adults. Probably a good place to hang out at night and watch a Bruins game, no kids.

Yikes! Came to Park Place with my guy around 5:30 on a Saturday. I had stopped by once before for a pizza and a beer a few months ago and had a pretty good experience, but this time was a huge disappointment. We grabbed a high top table and shortly a server stopped by. We asked if it was ok to sit there, no problem she says, and she watches me wipe the table down myself with the napkins that were in a holder on the table.(Thumbs down girlie!) We then ask what they have for beers on draft… she says, «we have tons!» I think she listed 5 and even forgot the name of one of the 5. Waiting for our drinks I watch someone, get up from a table, not wearing a work shirt, grab a soda from behind the bar and the bartender herself walking around on her phone for several minutes.(Boo!) To make a long review short, I’ll just summarize my opinion of this place: Poorly trained and managed staff here. I hate feeling confused when I go out to joint, and this place did exactly that. The pizza I’ve had here was great, and the menu is more creative than most bars typically offer, but the servers seem to have little care for you!

We stopped in on a whim while attending a conference last Friday. We ordered the calamari with sweet chili sauce and we then split the haddock creole. The food was just fantastic, you would expect the same quality in a much fancier spot! Great beer selection and friendly staff made for a perfect dinner! The bill came to about $ 40-a bargain!

The Park is not a high end place, but it serves great food at breakfast(check out their homemade corned beef hash – a guilty pleasure), lunch, and dinner. Their bar opens early and their staff are friendly, welcoming, and extremely attentive. While it’s primarily a local haunt, that is changing as the works gets out about recent improvements. As others have mentioned, this restaurant reopened under new ownership a year or two ago and has benefitted greatly from the change. It’s evident that a turnaround is well underway and investments continue to be made in building this business. Most notably, the owner has recruited a chef from New Orleans who has added his own take on some Louisiana classics and added a southern element to some local favorites. On our last evening visit, we enjoyed linguine with crawfish and clam sauce – a welcome addition to the menu. To top off our night, we ordered the Park’s signature dessert, Oreo beignets. Drizzled in chocolate, they were an amazing treat that even our non-dessert eating dining companions enjoyed.

***RENEGINGONGROUPONOFFER**** As stated in the previous post this establishment is now Park Place Tavern. They advertised on Groupon and I purchased a dinner for four. Went there to use the Groupon and was quickly told by the person looking to seat us that they are not accepting the Groupon and she did not know why(she was very nice and saw the foolishness in this decision). I called Groupon and filed a case resolution(I was told that several other people have also) and they were unable to get any response from owner. This review is just based on experience because the four of us walked down the street to one of the many restaurants in the area and we will certainly never eat here!

Edited for Melissa Q. with info I didn’t think was necessary, but here ya go. — full disclosure: This place has a new name. It’s called Park Place Tavern and it’s awesome. The owner fired most of the staff because apparently he was being stolen from(ahem. Melissa Q.) in the form of thousands of dollars in alcohol missing discovered during an audit just before the staff ended up being let go over that reason(I overheard him speaking to another guest). Apparently Melissa Q. the owner thought you worked as a family also. The restaurant just took on a new chef and renovated the entire place. The blackened chicken sandwich with melted cheddar, avacado and chipoltle mayo on focaccia with fresh cut fries for $ 7.99 was unbelievably good and inexpensive. Best I’ve ever had. They had a couple good Craft Beers on tap too. I went there today with my wife and 3 year old after a whale watch and it was a perfect place for lunch. Heard the owner talking about the tough decisions he had to make to save this place. I give him big props. This place is trying to reestablish itself and it shows. Think one of the ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ episodes with Chef Ramsey where they renovate and reestablish a new menu/get rid of problem staff. The food is now wonderful. If you are lucky enough to be local, check it out. We loved it!

Really? 3 stars for Boston’s? This is a dive bar in Plymouth. The place does not look clean(most likely because it is not). Actually, the food is not horrible but most people go there to have a few drinks. It’s pretty much a regular crowd there.

Probably one of the best breakfast’s I’ve had in awhile. Scrambled eggs were cooked(hate wet eggs)…bacon was decent and the french toast with cinnamon swirl bread was good, but it was a bit thick so could have been soaked in the wash a bit longer. Service and atmosphere were good. relaxed and casual. Definately go back… want to try the peanut butter pancakes…

Went with 2 nephews, 14 and 9. Youngest one said chocolate chip pancakes are good, hot chocolate huge with lots of whipped cream. Older one had hamburgers both times and liked them a lot. Good fries. I had Crab Benedict which was an interesting twist on Eggs Benedict, substituting crab cakes for the Canadian bacon. Better than I expected it to be. Obviously fresh crab cakes were used. All in all, a good place for breakfast or lunch.

Went to Plymouth on Mother’s Day. Every restaurant was packed except Boston’s. I guess that should have tipped us off. A friend had recommended it but after our experience and further consultation with said friend we realized they meant another restaurant. Entertainment every night I guess it’s really a bar and not a place to eat. We made the mistake of eating there. Won’t happen again. With all the other choices in Plymouth why would anyone bother going here?
