The tour guides for the cemetery tours were phenomenal. Such good story tellers and they made walking around the cemetery fun and informative!

I am an international touring actor that travels by myself a lot. So when I go into bars, there is always that bit of uneasiness that it’s gonna be really awkward and I’ll spend the entire time on my phone. I went to the voodoo lounge to kill time before the cemetery tour, and got there a bit earlier than usual. From the second I walked in, Steven, the bartender greeted me and asked to try on my sunglasses. I grabbed a pic while I was cracking up, and he helped me order my drinks. We chatted until I left for my tour. Awesome place. If you are in town alone on business, don’t worry– Steven is gonna make sure you have a great time. :) miss that town already.

Best bar I’ve been to so far. Steven is keeping the bar rocking. A real lively local, gave us a good take on the city before our cemetery tour.

Not a whole lot of alcohol in those Hurricanes. But on the up side, you get 2 for 1 Hurricanes with a Ghost and Vampire tour purchase — tours that begin from this location. That, and a souvenir cup! Can’t beat that. This quaint little bar is off the beaten path, still in the French Quarter, and across from Louis Armstrong Park.

Dog friendly bar with good prices, great company, and just an overall relaxed vibe. It’s within walking distance to where I live and my pup loves going in to get treats while we’re out and about.

Come stop by voodoo! Bartender Stephen and the«bossman» are stand-up comedians and will surely make sure you have a good time! Ask Stephen for the«drunkin Alan-Palmer» mixed drink!

If you are checking out one of the tours that starts here it’s an easy find. It is a bit off the beaten path, up on Rampart, but it’s kinda a funky casual place to hang out and chill — and far enough from Bourbon street that it’s not insane. LOL Hungry, they don’t do food, but there is a tasty hot dog place just a block up the street. The tour we did was True Crime. Our guide was great with lots of personality, so all and all a really fun time.

This review is tied mostly to the ghost tour which starts here so not sure this is fair placement so be forewarned. Stopped here for a drink before our ghost tour got started. Had a hurricane in the 2 for one deal and it was basically kool-aid with booze. While not the worst thing one can think of it was just crap ingredients. The area is also a little suspect later at night but that can be said for many areas around town. The tour guide had an incredibly tough job trying to corral 15 drunk and obnoxious people but he did not do a good job of it at all. I’ve done a few of these tours before and the key is to weave the historic info with a bit of story telling. Too much of one or the other and it falls flat. Not only did the tour guide suck at the historic piece, he was just not credible at all, his story telling was total shite. After he joked about the scariest part of the school being that Richard Simmons attended in his best cheesy camp counselor telling a ghost story around the campfire voice we up and left the tour. Save your money and stop in a bar that serves a decent drink. Not worth it…

The two-for-one hurricanes are a good draw to help lubricate the impending ghost/vampire tour. Best drink you’ll ever have? Nope. Good enough? Yup.

This is an odd little dive bar with a voodoo theme. There is one wall in particular that appears to be more of a photo op than anything that is the main piece of voodoo history/décor and everything else is just kind of divey. The staff seem nice. They run tours out of the back room. It’s not a bad place, but nothing really special in my opinion.

Great and friendly bartenders here who will make you laugh and smile. Drinks are poured strong here so pace yourself. Wait for the ghost tours(that stop here and who quickly indulge on 2−4−1 hurricane drinks) to leave before you make jokes about them out of respect for your bartender. Halloween décor year round, but a great addition to the French Quarter. Also being on Rampart, it’s a great location to grab a cab or bus to continue on to another venue or to head home for the night. Make it your first or last stop, but either way it will be a good one.

So rude, some man asked for a Coors Light, the bartenders began to have an open conversation at the bar between themselves. 1st tender — «We don’t have that» Customer — «what do you have?» 1st tender — «Miller or Bud Light» 2nd tender — «Who drinks that?» 1st tender — «nobody in this city» Note: Born & raised in NOLA, they drink it all! BTWNOLA is tourism based, even if you didn’t have what he asked for why be so effin rude??? 2nd tender — «where would you get that?» 1st tender — «at a gas station» In NOLA, city of hospitality, acceptance & decadence love, these idiots thought they were funny. The gentleman seemed straight… not the normal customer in this bar. Did the Southern Decadence tenders discriminate against this man???

Interesting little dive bar that I probably wouldn’t have stopped in, unless the tour I took started here. The drinks were mediocre, more syrupy than boozey but not a bad overall experience. I’m not sure I would neccesarily come back here if I was in New Orleans but it seems its one of the only bars that stays open when all others close down for the evening.
