Sadly, this place closed :(A big part of my childhood is now gone! BUT! Ultimate Pizza lovers rejoice — some of the original guys from here moved to the place next door to create Bella Roma Pizza. Pizza is almost exactly the same and tastes great! I definitely recommend you go check it out.

My company ordered over a dozen pies and their vegan pie wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It had the perfect amount of vegetables, sauce, crust and crunch. This is far from my favorite brick oven pizzerias. This is your local pizzeria and I would come here for a slice. I can only speak for the vegan pie so don’t quote me on the other pies. It looked good though!

I love the pizza here. It’s fresh, crispy, the perfect amount of cheese and sauce… and has just enough flavor with each bite. Great for a quick bite!

Great pizza joint in the middle of the 59th st bridge traffic. Food-wise, I had 2 slices of Buffalo Chicken… my god these were huge. Not only do they put a crap ton of chicken on these babies, but there’s a ton of buffalo sauce as well. These things are heavy, so you better be hungry. Sauce is a little runnier than some other buffalo chix I’ve had, but flavor is good. Spicy enough, and definitely buffalo. On top of it all, there was only 1 left so they made me an entire new half a buffalo chicken pizza so I could have 2 fresh slices. Check it out. All around, great spot, clean enough, decent seating.

This place is great! We ordered bacon and a Hawaiian pizza. The bacon was actually real strips, not bacon bits that are usually used at pizzerias. The ham and pineapple were not lacking one bit. Overall, great food! We also got the garlic knots. They were lacking in butter and garlic. We basically got rolls. The food was delivered still steaming hot and the delivery guy was friendly.

Their pizzas with jalapeños on it are worth their weight in gold! I had the Marinara garlic as base + chicken, olives, mushrooms and jalapeños!!! so good. Whatever pizza I order I just make sure it has jalapeños on it. Yes, that is very important because it make the pizza so good.

Good eats when I’m looking for a quick bite. The M15 bus literally stops in front of this pizza shop, making it super convenient. They have a nice selection of toppings. My favorites being broccoli and eggplant. The crust is good but not the best. They are generous with the toppings. Sauce is slightly sweet and tangy. Good. Pizza by the slice are priced anywhere between $ 3-$ 5. Counter and table seating available. Employees always quick and friendly with a good sense of humor.

Truly great pizza. The real secret though is that upstairs is The Ultimate Pasta restaurant where you can order not only the delicious pizza, but their wonderful Italian food… pastas, chicken, veal and seafood dishes, salads etc… And to top it off, The Ultimate Pasta is BYOB so you get to dine for a very reasonable expenditure. The service is very friendly and attentive. They will actually make many dishes that are not on the menu as their chefs can whip up all types of dishes, sauces etc… I really love them all… the marinara, the meat, the vodka! The dishes are bountiful and come with a side selection that varies from a vegetable(steamed or sauteed) to a pasta(even whole wheat pasta). So when in the mood for more than just the great pizza, hit the upstairs with some vino and your appetite and you’ll find yourself enjoying a really good meal.

The plain slices here are $ 3.00 and are pretty good. I took mine to go and ate it as I walked. Notably, there was no parmesan cheese available to sprinkle on my slice. The slice itself was comparable to Pizza Pete’s; average in NYC, above average in comparison to anywhere else. I’ll admit, I really didn’t like shelling out those extra two quarters, but I guess that’s the sacrifice you have to make when you want pizza in Midtown.

It is good but $ 4 for a BBQ chicken slice? $ 4? The people who work there weren’t mean or intentionally rude– just sort of rough around the edges. When I’m paying $ 4 for a slice of pizza, can’t I at least get to deal with someone who says thank you and says things, instead of just gesturing with 4 fingers to indicate the price?

Man, I love this place. Delicious food, great service and an intimate setting. Nothing fancy but a real family affair. I can’t recommend the ULTIMATEPASTA highly enough, and their sister pizza shop downstairs THEULTIMATEPIZZA makes the best pies in town. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED! A crime that they closed. Still searching for food as good and at a reasonable price.

I don’t get it. There are a lot of great reviews for this place, but I think maybe I just ordered the wrong pizza. It was a cold winter night, and I hustled in after looking up Unilocal to find a decent pizza place around the block. To my pleasant surprise, there were a bunch of hearty looking guys yelling what sounded like Italian to each other while they tossed giant pizzas in and out of these enormous ovens. Enough. I’m sold! What pizza should I get from The Ultimate Pizza? Phsh, well, of course I ended up ordering a large Ultimate Pizza with chicken cutlet on top(upon recommendations from Unilocal). 10 – 15 minutes later, I had a steaming hot, fresh pizza on my hands! I ran across the street to my friend’s apartment to share the treasure in my hands with them. We basically ripped the cover off the box and played tug-of-war with our pizza slices; it looked delicious. But, in the end, it was just ok. It was better than, say, Domino’s or even Two Bros, but I mean, I don’t know. It just didn’t taste like it should’ve cost me $ 26 for a pizza I guess. Really sad I didn’t enjoy it as much as others seem to have, but will give it another shot if I’m around there again.

Can somebody tell me why this spinach and ricotta cheese slice is crack? It’s crack. I either walk past it and make sure I don’t look in, or you find me rocking back and forth in a dark corner inhaling this pizza and crying. Pluffy pillows of ricotta smiling up at me over wavy spinach. *strokes… Their tomato basil is off the hook too. Coming from a neighborhood where local, family owned pizzerias dot every other corner like duane reades, this means a lot to me. I can no longer say Manhattan butchers pizza. Heart.

Lived in the neighborhood for about 2 decades now. Day in and day out, this pizza joint does it up! Kudos to the Ultimate Pizza team! My wife’s favorite pregnant neighborhood pizza run for me to go on ;)

The cockiness in Sutton Place when it comes to pizza is rampant among the two most prominent establishments in the neighborhood, The Ultimate Pizza, and Best Pizza. In grade school we’re taught the order of quality as good, better, best, but they don’t teach us about ultimate, and that is because it is in another league. Its like talking about the best in collegiate sports, and comparing that to the premier professional team; they’re both great but at different levels. I like Best Pizza for its variety, but I Ultimately judge a pizza institution on its traditional plain-cheese slice. Ultimate’s crispy thin crust and robust sauce, make it the premier pizza place in this part of town. Ultimate has been around longer and has the reputation as, well, the ultimate pizza in town. If you want more than this simple store front, head upstairs for The Ultimate Pasta, a small Italian Eatery in connection with the downstairs pizza parlor.

There is something magical about the place that makes those yearning for pizza scream in glee… Went with a friend to this place last week on a late night whim, and I’m not sure what they put in this stuff, but it was the only thing she could think of. Truthfully, this rating is more for what effect this place has on people, but I figure, if it makes her happy, why can’t it make other people happy?
