This pizza saved my life every night of GovBall weekend, so I have to give them five stars. I tried the Hawaiian pizza and the cheese pizza — both delish. I would probably recommend this place over Bella Roma down the street, although it’s pretty tough to say.

This is one of the best pizzerias in NYC. My favorite from here is their chicken vodka slice, its too die for! I always stop by here when I’m in Midtown. The staff is very friendly

Can’t speak to the food as the delivery order never came. Pretty much sums it up.

The pasta is delicious. However the employees are disgusting. The Albanian owner always picks up the phone with a short temper. He’s ungrateful for his clients. His wife with the glasses is just as aggressive and nasty. It’s a shame the pizza is good. But this place is arrogant.

Okay not as good as it gets. But solid neighborhood option. Their fresh mozzarella slices are very good. Service is friendly and quick and sandwiches are okay.

I like my NY style pizza Albanian — and these guys deliver on the slice front.

We order quite often from here but it’s always the same thing: fresh mozzarella pizza with small pepperoni. If you go with this pizza you are in for a treat. Really really good. Regular cheese pizzas are pretty bad though. Almost impossible to eat in my opinion. Pricing is decent and I will say that their service is great and fast and they are always super nice in store. As for the rest skip it. Stick to the fresh mozzarella and pepperoni you won’t regret it!

I never review things, but this place just makes the best local pizza, no contest. I’ve been a resident of NYC, Chicago and Philly, and there is no rival for the chicken vodka slice here. Just the perfect balance of thin but adequately crunchy crust, well cooked breaded chicken and savory vodka sauce. I could(and generally do when I’m in town) eat this everyday. Thoroughly recommend as an authentic NY pizza experience with a lot of variety!

Shocked I haven’t written review on this place yet considering there were 2 weeks of my life that I ate here everyday. It’s delicious. Get the Buffalo chicken, get the chicken alla vodka. Eat them and be happy. Everyone here is super nice also. Not crazy about spending $ 4 a slice on pizza, but their specialty slices are delicious and it’s the Upper East Side. If you’re on 1st ave… go there.

Reasonably priced for the area, decent delivery time(ordered over the phone and was here within 30 minutes), and lots of classics to choose from. Got a cheesesteak, Greek salad, and penne ala vodka(got linguine instead of penne). Pasta was amazing — I could not stop eating it! The sauce was absolutely delicious and the chicken was grilled perfectly. Greek salad was nice and fresh, the don’t have Greek dressing but the Italian dressing was yummy. The cheesesteak was HUGE, my boyfriend said it was really good and could not finish the whole thing!

This place should be called Best Penne Ala Vodka on 1st! Their vodka sauce is out of this world and they really have some innovative dishes using their vodka sauce such as their chicken ala vodka. Never had their pizza so can’t speak to the quality of their slices.

I stopped in for a chicken vodka slice and was very impressed. The place is immaculate and staff very friendly. They have a nice selection of slices, the chicken vodka slice was on point. I would recommend and probably return.

We’ve moved further uptown and really miss Best on 1st! It’s the best pizza we’ve found in the city. We used to get pizza from here at least twice a week, and we still travel down to pick some up occasionally on the weekend. Keep it up Best on 1st!

Horrible service. I ordered on Seamless and they never contacted me or delivered. I would not recommend. They cannot be trusted.

Declined to honor order placed through Seamless because I was out of their range. They also declined to refund my order, saying I had to call Seamless. Turns out both statements were false. They have a contract with Seamless saying they’d deliver to where I am, and it is their obligation to work out refunds with Seamless. Truly obnoxious. I hate those moments where you KNOW the person on the phone is screwing with you, but you can’t prove it so you can’t say anything. Well, now I’ve done my research, and I’ve confirmed it! I can’t speak to the quality of the pizza, obviously, though if I ordered from there again I suspect there’d be spit in it.

I would highly recommend both their pizza and pasta dishes. I usually go to one of their competitors in the neighborhood, but had a slice of theirs that was ordered to a local bar in the area and wanted more. I’ve enjoyed it all. I had the Chicken Parmesan, ravioli with meat sauce, and the x-large pie with pepperoni and ham. You can’t go wrong with Best Pizza on First Avenue. Enjoy!!!

I hate Best Pizza because every time I leave work, I tell myself«No pizza. No pizza.» I hate Best Pizza because every time I pass by, I tell myself«Pizza. Pizza.» Seriously. When I first moved here I thought, «Who the hell names them-self Best Pizza?» That’s like my mom naming me «Nice Guy.» But they were right. Yes, both Best Pizza and my mom. Everything here is good. Everything. If you don’t believe me, walk in with $ 0.00 and just sit at the counter. You’ll see how much traffic they get, from all sorts of people, and from online orders. I’m not alone. Then you’ll walk your ass out and walk either to TD Bank or Chase, both of which are conveniently located across the street at opposite corners, take out $ 20.00, walk your ass back through Best Pizza’s doors, and stand in front of the oven trying to pick slices. Plural, you will not want just one. I also hate Best Pizza because I challenged myself one Friday night to order a whole pie, half plain, half mushroom and pepperoni, and to finish it in one sitting. I lost and had to finish the remaining slices the next morning. It was the best second place finish. Ever. I hate you.

The pizza here is decent. I cant honestly tell you if it is the best Pizza on first ave, but its passable. Staff is very friendly here and they make sure you have your order taken soon after you walk in. The place seems really busy which is a good thing with people constantly walking around me to get in/out. At the time I was ordering my pizza, the owner got into an argument with a beverage delivery guy and it was quite amusing and entertaining to watch while waiting for my food. I cant say the other patrons enjoyed the language being thrown back and forth as I did, but it did make it memorable and I have come back to have slices when I am in the area.

With a name like, «Best Pizza on 1st Avenue,» you better be good, right? I mean, talk about setting some high expectations. But, I suppose you couldn’t say, «It’s ‘pretty darn good pizza’ on 1st Avenue» or else who would actually eat at your joint. Welp, the pizza is pretty darn tasty. The pepperoni was fantastic. Perfect, really. The combo slice, yuck. It was doughy, not cooked all the way through… like gummy pizza. *shudder* I would definitely go back to this place… and order just two of the pepps.
