I really like the atmosphere at that place. Cool but inviting. Nice crowd. Love their margaritas. Dishes to try: Layered nacho, buffalo wings, Vancouver fries…

The nicest waitresses around. Great food, wonderful lunch special. I love this place. One thing you sort of have to wait for is the check. But just let them know in advance if you’re hoping to get out of there quickly. The burgers are great, the pasta is great, fun clientele. There’s also a rooftop bar in the summer!

We came here for their snowstorm happy hour after the snow ball fight on campus. All staff were friendly, especially our waitress(I think her name was Abby?). We had frozen margarita, wings and chicken enchilada. Margarita was kinda weak and watery, more like juice smoothies. Wings were good, just like the typical bar wings. The enchilada platter was huge, with three rolls, black beans, rice and four sauces. I liked the black beans most. The tortilla wrap was hard and thick though. Overall a 3.5 stars experience.

The Heights is a staple venue for any Columbia university student. It’s cleaned up since the renovation. However the margaritas and the happy hour marg deal has stayed the same! I love coming here for the passion fruit — strawberry marg. The menu and good has improved. The rooftop is nice during the summer. The service had been rude the last two times I’ve come to the Heights. We ordered happy hour drinks before it was over but the waitress took a while to enter it so we were charged extra. The time before we sat at a table and were asked multiple times whether we planned on ordering food. I understand to sit at a table, we needed to order food, but we needed time to look at the menu.

We came for New Years Eve and had a good time! I would recommend their frozen Margaritas, and you can choose either a more complete dish or finger food to share with friends.

Took a chance and popped in here after visiting Columbia Univ. pleasantly surprised. Had the ancho chili burrito. Amazing. Saw people order the nachos which also looked great. Excellent quality, good price and decent portions!

I came here on a Sunday night as a group of 6, no reservation. We sat at a table for drinks and had a very good time(although you have to leave the table and get your own drinks at the bar). Drinks were $ 10 on average; not bad. The music was great(a bit of everything and I mean everything) & the bartender was friendly. The mojitos, wings and fries were delicious. I will be back!

Definitely like … definitely will go back. I’m not a big«sports bar» guy … but I do like going«off hours» with lower noise levels; happy hours; and ladies fresh out of work. relaxed and open to casual chat. Good«people place» when not packed, and«a game» is on! 4 out of 5 stars for the wi-fi. Good wi-fi coverage inside and out and very good speed even when crowded. The same is true of the Harlem Tavern … the sister restaurant with similar ambiance and service. Excellent beer selection. The ambiance is somewhat«unique» if you take the time to feel and appreciate it. Go off hours to see what I have described.

Great place for Happy Hour! They have frozen margaritas(which are pretty strong) for $ 6. The rooftop(on the 3rd floor) is really great when the weather is nice. Service was welcoming and friendly, and the food was pretty basic bar food(burgers, quesadillas, and some dishes that are unique to the place).

I adore this place. It seems like a hole in the wall because the location’s entrance is subtle but inside and up the stairs there is a decent-sized space and a roof for dinner and drinks. The food selection is Mexican-American-inspired and I approve. Prices are reasonable and there is an AC. Hallelujah!

A Morningside Heights institution. During the academic year, it is definitely a Columbia bar, but during the summer, it is an «everyone» bar. I came her for the first time in 2001(different world– a few months before 9⁄11) and it was my birthday. A sultry summer night in June. And even when I didn’t live in this neighborhood, I kept coming here in the summer. I hope to return here again soon. I’ve been nostalgic.

I came in yesterday. My husband didn’t want me to bring it up because he felt like you would think we were arguing over a dollar, but I literally lost sleep last night over the principal, so I had to write. WTF??? My son asked for Parmesan cheese with his pasta… Something that comes with pasta… And it was listed on the bill as one dollar. Seriously? That’s insane! It is not about the dollar! It comes with pasta! Pasta costs one dollar a box and you charged eight for the child portion… I assume you can throw in the cheese that is supposed to be on it!!! How much do you charge for ketchup? Ps: I don’t want out dollar back! I want you to stop the madness! It’s insane!!! Fix it! I really like your restaurant, but can not keep going to a restaurant that will charge a dollar for something that is supposed to be included!!! Pps: I tried to email the address listed on your website and it didn’t go through. Then I tried to call twice, and was given but that didn’t go though. If your website had been correct you could have saved yourself a public bad review because I would have written privately.

Loved this spot. I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while and finally got the chance last night. Came with a group of about 10 friends(some of them had arrived earlier for happy hour, which runs from 4−7pm). We hung out in the main area indoors for about an hour and then made our way up to the rooftop, which was awesome. It’s cozy, adorable, and perfect for either grabbing a bite(I didn’t try the food, but it looked very good) or just having drinks. Prices are pretty good as well. Will definitely be back here, I’m happy to have found another great place in the Morningside Heights area!

I LOVE the Heights. If the Heights sold T-shirts, I would immediately cop one then turn it into a crop top and wear it everywhere(completely exaggerating, but you get the point). Especially after the menu re-vamp after the fire from a few years ago, they have really stepped up their game and the change is pretty drastic if you’ve been around for both eras of the Heights. The food is definitely better — I like the quesadillas and guac — and the $ 5 margaritas are as perfect as ever. Where else in this city can you find a margarita the size of a large rodent for less than the price of a burrito?

The Heights has a roof top bar with plenty of beer($ 5) and frozen margaritas($ 9 for 16 oz). Come here to grab a drink with friends during a nice day.

The rumors are true: You’re going to be surrounded by young’ns who just turned 21 at this Columbia-adjacent bar, but at least the rooftop is nice and has great grub. The best bet for this place is to come during the daytime, when it’s not so crowded. Otherwise prepare to fight with students for a place at the bar!

I’ve been here a few times with friends and it’s a decent spot for margaritas and light appetizers but nothing special. They have a nice rooftop spot that’s covered and heated in the winter which is great for more space and make some great drinks. They’re super accommodating especially in the earlier hours of the night before the dinner crowd comes in, but then it can get kind of annoying to get the waiter’s attention. I was actually pretty annoyed at how bad the service was the latest time I went there — it seemed like they only had a couple of guys working both the upstairs and the downstairs rooms, and it took us almost half an hour to get the check after we asked for it. If you do end up going though I highly recommend the queso — it was pretty perfect for an appetizer and the chips are good too. I always get a mango frozen margarita when I go and I love it.

Lovely rooftop hangout for Columbia students and locals. The climb to the top is somewhat steep but worth it. Good beers on tap and in bottles, nice views of Morningside Heights. I had the guacamole and a burrito, and both were perfectly serviceable. The crowd was definitely on the young side, with intellectual energy and style in the air. I came on a weeknight and it was lively but not disastrously crowded.
