I absolutely love this place! The margaritas are amazing, the food is delicious and the service is fantastic. Ignore any negative comments! I promise you’ll have an awesome night out and yummy food.

It’s been a while and I’m still craving those carne asada tacos with the red salsa so yes, this place deserves 5 stars. Stopped in for a quick bite. I had a couple of spicy margaritas and they were delish, I’m a fan of spicy food so that little kick really elevated the drink. Tacos come in two’s so we ordered chicken and carne asada and shared. Both were delicious! I wish I’d had a bigger appetite because those were some good tacos. I would definitely eat here on a regular basis if I lived in NYC, but I don’t :(

I came here for a Sunday brunch. The food a pretty good, no complaints there. The service was not up to par, at all! I was sitting for a good ten minutes, watching the waiters and waitresses converse and nobody greeted me or took my order, I had to flag them down. Then, I ordered the $ 15 unlimited mimosas for an hour and due to the poor service, I sat with an empty glass for most of the time. I was able to get in three small glasses of mimosas before the hour was over.

This place keeps getting better and better in my book. My friends and I went for their unlimited tacos/sangria night on Monday, and we were so surprised at how great the service was! Usually when you get unlimited food, the service is slow and prevents you from getting your bang for your buck in the two hour limit, but here, every time that they saw our glass was empty or our plate was clear, they brought over more tacos and sangria. The baja fish, pollo chipotle, and carnitas tacos are all fresh and super good. They load them up with meat too. Get here early(around 6 pm) because by 7 pm it gets crowded and there is a wait!

The food at this place was mediocre– they could have more drink options and taco options. I had the pomegranate margarita when i went and boy was that margarita hard to swallow. I had shrimp tacos and my friend had the chicken tacos– taste wise we’ve had much better. And as far as the portion — it was too small for the prices. I will definitely not be coming back to this restaurant because of customer service. After i finished paying my bill — I just wanted to take a picture at the restaurant with my friend and finish my drink. As I am doing so all the waiters, bar tenders and hostess was at the bar looking out. I over here one of them saying«damn she still hasn’t left.»(she said it in Spanish, which i clearly understand). Called and spoke to the manager and the manager basically said he will speak to his staff. The next day my friend who i visited this place with who’s from out of town– calls to say that she was charged twice. I live in the area and this is a place i will NOT be visiting this place again.

It’s hard to forgive the really piss(pour) happy hour that this place provides. $ 4 for a very small glass of beer. If you bought 2 of them it still wouldn’t come out to equal one regular pint glass. So in the end you’re actually paying more. Not a very happy hour indeed.

Absolutely love this little Mexican place. Standout watermelon basil frozen margaritas and you can get them in quart size mason jars if you’re feeling ambitious. Really excellent tacos and sweet potato fries– random, I know. The staff is quite friendly as well. Indoor and Outdoor seating is available. Prices are definitely«Manhattan» prices, but not unreasonable. This is my fave Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood.

Yum. Yum. And yum once more. I went to brunch here with a few friends and enjoyed every moment. I had the chilaquiles and whew… So much flavor packed in each bite. I enjoyed the bottomless sangria but a word to the wise… Keep your eyes on the clock if you get bottomless drinks. That hour goes by fast!!! Lol When you go all for Christopher. He’s the best:-)

6 words: High School Mexican Food Appreciation Day 9 words: High School Mexican Food Appreciation Day for $ 52 :( — Ordered Carnitas(Burrito) without the black beans. I think this is the smallest burrito I’ve ever purchased(under 6″). A lifeless jumble of shredded pork, a dump of yellow rice, a couple of tomatoes, 5 onion shreds in a tasteless tortilla. I dumped out and ate the contents of the tortilla(under 4″ dia. pile) and scrapped the tortilla.($ 14 burrito + $ 9 tacos + drinks) — Potato fries incl. with burrito, also lifeless. — I feed my dog on better servingware than the trays used here. I felt obliged to vomit into the tray post-meal. — Price of drinks more than food, LOL. :) — The gin & tonic was good and the server(Angela) was courteous & attractive. That’s what the two stars are for.

I was hesitant about ordering food here because I’m definitely a little bit of a snob when it comes to eating Mexican foods outside of Texas(and even in Texas, I realize it’s more of Tex-Mex). We were here when it was happy hour, so I ordered a few tacos off their happy hour menu, the yuca fries, and a margarita. First things first, the margarita has chile rather than salt along the rim. It’s probably listed somewhere, but I wasn’t paying attention and was surprised when I got it. It’s not my favorite thing, and I couldn’t taste the tequila in the margarita. The yuca fries were a little flavorless, and the sauces didn’t help that much. I think they’d be better if they were cut thinner, but you just got a lot of starch with not a lot of seasoning. My tacos though, those were good. I got the carne asada tacos, and yum. I’d easily eat these again. I didn’t notice any of the mushrooms that were described in the dinner menu, but the steak was cooked well, it was seasoned beautifully, and I was definitely happy with these. The service was okay. It’s nothing to rave about, but nothing that’s disappointing either. Would I come back here? Probably not, but the carne asada taco was good enough that I wouldn’t mind eating here again.

The food is great. Really. I’ve had their array of taco offerings. Looking at other reviews the service can be hit and miss. But I have a couple questions. Is there any Tequila actually put into your margaritas? I am curious as to the answer. Is there anything other than sugared flavoring in your drinks? Have you tried to get drunk during your happy hour and failed no matter the volume of margaritas brought to you ? Have you had a margarita at Mexican Radio and tasted how the tequila actually radiates on the tongue? Can I rationally think I should go back? You would have 5 stars if you actually served a real margarita.

WOW. This place is pretty amazing. My friend and I came here on a Thursday evening to celebrate the end of midterms. We decided to sit outside since the weather was really nice & the string lights really set a chill, relaxing ambiance :) We both got drinks. I had the watermelon basic margarita and it was fabulous. Friend got a pomegranate-something drink(sorry, don’t recall the name haha). We were so hungry so we both wanted something filling. I ended up getting the carne asada burrito which came with a side of sweet potato fries and it was divine. My stomach was very happy indeed. Friend ended up getting a tilapia dish and she seemed to like it! TIP: If you have a Unilocal account, please do yourself a favor and check-in to unlock the free churros. THEYARESOGOOD.

Debating on whether to go to Chipotle or this little Mexican joint down the block, I decided to try Cascabel — Chipotle’s line was out the door(as usual). We were seated immediately. I noticed right away that the decorations(paintings of Mexican wrestlers’ colorful masks) were really great. I had the«Al Pastor» which is actually pretty spicy, but very delicious. It was really refreshing with the pineapples. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the guacamole too much. The tortillas were not cut into chips, which was pretty annoying for everyone in the table to break. They were also super thin and broke easily, so I wouldn’t get the guacamole. As for the price, it is a little more expensive than your authentic, tiny mom-and-pop shop, which I prefer much more. The service was great otherwise. As for the atmosphere, very colorful and cute, unfortunately, not air conditioning so very hot.

Delicious tacos, and a great vegetarian burrito. I liberally used the sauces. We did the bottomless brunch drinks, $ 15 for two hours, had the jalopeno margarita, the sangria, la lola(grapefruty), el capitan, and bloody maria. Definitely worth it! We had a fantastically friendly and accommodating server. Make sure to keep an eye on the clock to get in all your drinks. A friend was loudly surprised that the table didn’t come with chips and salsa, but the kitchen sent us a complimentary cup of each so all’s well!

So, I finally decided to give Cascabel a try. I guess I avoided it for so long because I judge pretty harshly when it comes to ANYTHING Mexican in New York. So, it was on. Not bad, Cascabel. Not bad. The good. –The food is actually pretty good and the little squeeze bottles of hot sauce have the potential to light you ablaze. Yum. –Apparently the drinks are good but since we came here during a work day for lunch… I will leave this to my imagination. In-limbo. –The service. The waitress took a while to get to us. First we thought it was because we may have seemed indecisive with our menus open but then it took some serious eye contact and gesturing for her to come by. Things were fine once we got her. –The venue. iAy, qué trendy! Much better now that the scaffolding is gone. It is one of ONLY two places by Columbia where you can get good tacos and a chair to eat it in. The bad. –I’ve grown used to good tacos that: 1) are less than $ 3 each; 2) contain protein that you can mix and match. The tacos here come in twos or threes and come only in sets. This means if you’re craving al pastor AND carnitas(but can only hold down two tacos) you had to choose between them(or bring a friend and be creative). Two tacos will also go for double what you can get from the cart on 110th or 96th. Like I said, overall, Cascabel wasn’t bad. Does it beat out my joints in Corona? Not even close.

This is an ideal place to visit when the weather is nice. They have a decent sized patio and they can open up their floor-to-ceiling windows to let in the sunshine/breeze. I came here on Sunday at noon with an 11-person party for brunch and we were seated immediately. I’m glad there wasn’t a wait! The food itself was pretty good! Their taco platters come in orders of two or three, but unfortunately you can’t request different types of tacos within one order. One way to get around it is to share with friends. I was able to try the baja fish, carne asada and al pastor tacos. My favorite was the carne asada — it had a really nice rich flavor. The al pastor has some pineapple in it to make things fun, but overall it was too sweet for my taste. The baja fish is breaded and while I enjoyed the batter, I didn’t really think the fish was that fresh. FYI, they have an all-you-can-drink-in-one-hour-brunch for $ 15. They just require you to order a brunch item off the menu. I had a good experience with the service and our water was constantly refilled. Others in my party didn’t really like the service, so maybe I got lucky. Bonus tip: If you check in with Unilocal you’ll get a free churro. Who doesn’t love free churros?

Their guacamole is AMAZING. They’ve mixed the perfect amount of salt/lime/crack into this delicious avocado blend of heaven. I also got the veggie tacos, which weren’t that great. They were extremely heavy on the potatoes which I wasn’t a fan of. Not many actual vegetables in the tacos either — although the sauces were very complimentary and I did like that at least. Why I’m giving this place two stars? I called ahead to order, and mentioned I had a coupon for free churros(if you check in here on Unilocal, then you get free churros). Maybe they need to read the Unilocal guidelines, because this is what a Unilocal offer means: «A Unilocal Check-in Offer is a bonus or discount you create for people who „check-in“ to your business via Unilocal’s mobile application. Check-in Offers provide a measurable way to reward your most loyal customers while attracting new ones.» They would not honor this because I got«take out» and didn’t actually sit down at the restaurant, so I ended up paying for something I had a coupon for. It’s sad, because the churros were mouthwatering, either on their own or with the chocolate sauce they provided. So… no. I won’t be back.

The guacamole and the vege tamales here are to die for! We also had vege tacos and burritos but they needed the addition of the yummy home made salsas that were available on the table as they were a little bland. The service here was great, there were some very interesting healthy salads in the menu and look like they are worth a try next time.

If I could give half stars, I would give this place a 4.5, but I’m rounding up because the blurry drunk churro memories from brunch 2 days ago are so warm and cozy. Our party was 14, and we were seated right away which was great! We were all down for the brunch deal(an entrée for ~$ 14 + $ 15 for 1-hour of unlimited bevs including margaritas, spicy margs, bloody marys, tasty grapefruit prosecco drinks), and we got to order pretty quickly, but the first round of drinks took FOREVER. Like 20 minutes. Happily, they agreed to not start the timer on our hour until the drinks came(rather than when you place order, which is apparently the usual questionable policy). After the initial bumpy start, the drinks came fast and furious and then our food came, which was AMAZING. The huevos al horno con chorizo was very good but pretty standard. The huevos benedict came on cornbread with a fantastic spicy chipotle sauce. We also got a side of bacon, because bacon. The portions were a little small, but we definitely all left satisfied — just not full of the typical self-hatred that marks the end of a meal out. The free churros were such a wonderful ending to the meal. Soft and cinammony with hot chocolate dipping sauce… mmm… warm drunk churro memories.

I was craving fish tacos. An order was two was completely satisfying. There isn’t any sort of sauce so I got sour cream and it was perfect(I have a thing against dry textures). I admit, the margaritas seemed a bit steep in price at first but once it came, it was huge — in a giant 12oz mason jar. And delicious(pomegranate hibiscus YUM — with actual hibiscus flour on the top). Our food came out so fast too. To be fair it’s 11pm on a Saturday but service was great. The Sandlot is on the TV over the bar, the music is an amazing mix of 80s and 90s that we really enjoyed. My partner got the carnitas tacos and he said they were the best he’s had in a while. The icing on the cake: we checked in on Unilocal and got free churros. I’d have happily paid for them. They were soft and delicious with amazing chocolate dipping sauce! Will definitely be back. Well worth the prices on everything!
