Food was delicious. However the bartenders left a lot to be desired. Sliders were great and so were the onion rings and french fries.

Decent bar with a tv in every corner and above the bar. Didn’t try the food cause I ate with some friends beforehand. I remember a long wait for the bathroom because there were only two? Don’t get the hot cider, it’s not very good. Overall, I very chill bar. Our waiter was pretty awesome. Why only three stars? The hot cider was gross and the only thing I had. I’ll one day return and get my standard maker’s neat and some food. Hopefully I’ll change my review.

I ordered from seamless and I will NEVER order food from these people again! First off the e.t.a was a LIE! After waiting a little over an hour I called them to find out the status and the lady that answered said he should be there any minute. An hour and a half later the food is here and it’s Almost COLD and nasty! The crab cakes had so much batter there was barely any crabmeat and the French fries look old! The chicken sandwich is mediocre. I’m disappointed in whatever chef orchestrated this train wreck!

When I lived in this neighborhood, this was my go-to bar. Excellent burgers, casual and friendly vibe and a selection of craft beers and cocktails. Stopped by with a friend yesterday and had amazing Blood Orange Margarita… OMG, yes, it was good. We were feeling ravenous but still couldn’t demolish the enormous portions we got with the nachos and Rodeo Burger… Filled with locals, the bartenders stay on top of service and smiles.

Stopped in for a beer before dinner. Fair draft beer selection.Fair. But the bartender was friendly and service was good. I saw food being served to others and decided to stay and eat there. Being a simple guy, I ordered a burger/fries.Maybe not the best burger I’ve ever had, but definitely in the top 5. Fries were good too Funny, but the night before I had my first Shake Shack burger. Tavern burger was twice as good!

We went there for drinks after dinner. I had mango mojito and I did not like it. I could not taste the mango flavor in it. It is a pretty noisy place and not very clean. Service is fast, though.

Good neighborhood bar where you can go alone or with a few friends and be left alone. The waitresses into the past were a little inattentive, mostly the younger ones but I wouldn’t expect any different. Nothing to stop me from coming. I’ve only ever had the nachos which are sometimes dry and sometimes greasy. Which puts me off to the other dishes. I really come here for the beer. They always change up the beer menu according to season. They have a good range from ciders to IPAs etc. I Especially like the dim lighting and intimate seating. It kind of prevents customers from roaming around too much. It can get crowded but usually its a casual low key crowd.

Service = awesome. Period. They nailed it. Beer = good price and ok selection… perhaps it’s because I came when they started doing their October beers… Octoberfest and pumpkin ales are some of my least favorite but I didn’t take off stars for that because its personal preference. The bartender was more than capable of suggesting awesome(non October) beers and serving them rapidly. He rocked. Oversized wings = a total lie. It was the only food I ordered and I restrained myself from ordering more food due to the disappointment… even though still hungry. These wings were not only clearly not«oversized»… Or even standard size… but they, in fact, were the smallest wings I’ve ever had. Not only in NY but across the globe. Literally the smallest, most pathetic wings I’ve ever had. Ever. I cannot express enough how tiny they were. The sauce was fine, very scarce, but fine in flavor. The wings were cooked right and I cannot find error(even when meticulously trying) in anything either bar or kitchen staff did. The fault is the owners for not making sure his product meets the specifications of the menu. «Oversized wings» shouldn’t equate to worthless, one-bite, tiny bird nonsense. When I see«oversized wings», I expect a turkey drum. I don’t expect the baby veal of the poultry industry. I want what I ordered. Wings that take more than half a bite to finish. I am indeed a wing connoisseur and take it seriously. If you’re going to advertise«oversized wings» don’t serve me a plate that has less chicken on it than a single chicken nugget from McDonalds(which is super questionable on how much actual chicken is included). Amsterdam tavern, your wings are beyond pathetic. Get your chicken act in gear or change your menu to say, «worlds smallest wings». Or just«sauce splashed chicken bone with skin». Who knows… maybe you’ll bring in a new crowd of anorexics to the table. New idea: Amsterdam Anorexics Society Tavern. All dishes are less than 2 bites. Maybe convert one of the restrooms into a bulimic vomitorium. LoL: I just saw the back of the menu. It has a category that’s called«football stuff». Under it is «jumbo wings». I imagine these are the same wings as the«oversized» ones. All more lies.

Classic local tavern on the upper west side. Friendly staff and good selection of drafts. Menu is decent bar food and moderately priced

Great prices for an upper west side bar. The service when I was there was not the best, very slow for a bar on a Sunday night. They had karaōke that was pretty fun and great entertainment. I love bars that open their tall windows in the summer. It was a nice time but not my favorite place up here.

A huge favorite of mine in my Columbia days, but the more I go recently, the more I find myself a little underwhelmed. Still one of the best options in the area, but slipping a little in my book. Good selection, but it can be a little hit and miss. Be warned that during October, at least 70% of their beers will be a pumpkin beer. Their buffalo chicken nachos are AMAZING though, so extra points for that as well. It’s usually not terribly crowded as well — I’ve been on a Saturday night and was able to get a seat without a problem. I know that they do a pretty cool looking brunch as well — they offer bottomless mimosas for a pretty good price with the purchase of a brunch entrée. But I’ve never gone for brunch so all I can tell you is what’s on the menu.

Definitely isn’t anything particularly wrong with this place. I liked it. But, I’m not sure there’s anything particularly special about it, either. I went for lunch in early afternoon, and it kind of reeked of sour, stale beer. But, that’s probably what I get for going to a bar early on a Sunday. It’s also slightly possible that I’m getting old and that was just the sweet smell of a decent neighborhood bar after a successful Saturday night. And, it turns out I was there during brunch-only menu hours, so there wasn’t much for me to choose from.(For what it’s worth for everyone who isn’t vegan, the menu looked full of good options, and the chicken fingers and cheese sticks that my roommate ordered looked and smelled pretty great.) The waitress was extremely nice and willing to ask the kitchen if I could just order guacamole and chips. The guac wasn’t anything off the charts, but good. The chips were pretty wonderful — much better than the standard tortilla chips most places serve. I took a small box home for leftovers and was sort of wishing they sold their own bags of chips so I could grab some real quick instead of seriously considering walking in and ordering a quick to-go order of nachos, hold the nachos.(On a side note, their nachos seem to be a huge hit, and for the vegetarians out there, the waitress was also happy to put in a request for someone who came in asking for a vegetarian version of the nachos on the brunch menu.) Overall, the servers were great, and it’s a cute bar with some character, but there didn’t seem to be anything particularly special about it, and the limited menu doesn’t leave me much to look forward to on future trips. I did try it out for the first time on a Sunday afternoon during brunch, so I probably will give it another try some time to see what a typical day & menu is like.

Once upon a quiet Saturday night at home(in Jersey) my boyfriend and I spontaneously drove into the city for the sole purpose of eating the Tav’s nachos. I am nine months pregnant and don’t move off the couch much anymore, but I’d do about anything for their nachos. The tav isn’t just nachos, though. It’s friendly and unpretentious, and if you hang around long enough, you’ll probably end up downing a complimentary shot or two. The crowd ranges from Columbia students to neighborhood regulars. There are televisions for sports viewing and the music is always good. The beer menu rotates and always has some good choices, but my favorite time to go is Pumpkinfest, which occurs between September and early November. This is definitely my favorite bar in the city, and it’s absolutely worth the hike up to 106th. I really hope that it doesn’t fall victim to the same fate of some of its neighbors(RIP, Five Lamps Tavern) as the neighborhood continues to change.

Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm to grab a bite to eat with some friends. I highly recommend the buffalo nachos — they are to die for. They have other types of nachos too, which I’m assuming are fantastic. I also had a cup of chili, which I would not recommend. Just not good. Regardless, there were a lot of people there and it was a lively environment. We left around 1030pm, so most groups were seated and still eating by that point, but I would be interested in coming back here and seeing what it gets like later into the night.

Pretty cool bar. Clutch establishment for the area. Came here for the post dinner drinks with a few friends. The waitress was quick and efficient. The bathroom was very stinky and sticky. I Would go back but just for sports games. Huge tv space
