5 stars for sure! I stopped by Soomsoom Vegetarian Bar for a quick lunch during work the other day, and I was very pleased with what I found. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The falafel is one of the best I’ve had in the city. It was made very well, not dry like what you get at most other places. Not only was the falafel good, but there were many options of delicious toppings to stuff into my sandwich. The service is also outstanding. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. I will definitely be back again the next time I’m craving a tasty falafel sandwich.

Best thing about this place is the free salad bar with the purchase of a regular falafel($ 7.50). Salad bar had more than a dozen different items. All very good, fresh.

This is my second time here. First time I had falafel sandwich and was so good. Today I had the salad and I added falafel, hummus, and egg. They have a small salad bar you can add from it too. I highly recommend the place of you like falafel.

Yum!!! I stumbled upon this place when I was looking for a quick easy dinner. For $ 9 I got the falafel platter which included a huge bed of hummus and a hard boiled egg. I was only able to eat half of it before I was full(saving the rest for later!). I didn’t try the salad bar but it’s looked fresh and delicious. Bonus the man working the counter was so polite, friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.

Had sabich and falafel sandwich. Falafel balls are some of the best in NYC. Sabich eggplant is babganosh. not fried eggplant and potatoes chunks were way too big. The salad bar mango salsa was awesome. but the rest of salad bar was just subpar. The mint lemonade is a real star of the show. If you want great falafel balls and mint lemonade. this your joint. If you want a great salad bar and hearty meal. go to pitopia.

Very small, sometimes chaotic place with good falafel, etc. Better to take out than eat in.

I love this place. It is so reasonably priced and fresh and delicious. You really get allot for your money(what a normal lunch would cost anywhere else!) Great for take out, but make sure to stop by the salad/topping bar! I love jamming those crunchy things in my sandwich and basically all of there sauces… I’ve tried everything

FALAFEL So good … I would recommend doing some sample outside the store so people can try it. Sampling always help the business to make more $$$. The falafel is so good and the mint green drink. BOGOONFRIDAY

The falafel is amazing and the pita bread is great! It tastes very fresh. They have a salad bar and you can load whatever you want inside– very filling. Polite workers, great food, cheap prices($ 1 French fries with a sandwich!) I’d definitely recommend to a friend, especially vegetarian friends. And it’s a great kosher place of you’re in Manhattan looking for something good

Great Veggie place to stop by for a quick snack or lunch. I ordered the Soomsoom Original(pita with five falafel balls, three toppings of your choice and one sauce of your choice. Includes tahini sauce). It was really tasty! I added pickled beets, cucumbers, and peppers to my sandwich. I got all those things from the fresh salad bar which had a ton of options. When I am back on the UWS, I will definitely stop by Soomsoom again.

NOMORECHICKEN!!! The owner tells me they no longer serve Chicken Shawarma because they are«losing their most loyal customers». Loyal customers??? So what does that make me??? Apparently, not enough of a frequent customer to matter. If «loyal customers» are offended by the sight of a chicken rotisserie, why not keep the chicken in the back? It is seriously doubtful a fast-food falafel-eating Upper West Side Jew would be offended by chicken on the menu. As for the Chicken Shawarma, I am forced to go elsewhere(Maoz).

Such a great find right off broadway. This place has great, do-it-yourself salads. The toppings are all unique and mostly Mediterranean. The best part is that you can get a huge meal(2 salads worth) for less than 10 dollars!!! Pretty unheard of, especially for quality food in Nyc. Without a doubt, this is a must visit

As an israeli living in NY I long for a good falafel once in a while. I visited soomsoom and had their basic falafel in pita. There are several things that attract me in a quality falafel sandwich. One, the verity of flavors. Many fresh salads, herbs, sauces that mingle in one small bread pocket. The salads here had no flavor whatsoever. Old, limp salad. A slaw that is traditionally a little sour and salty had no personality. Secondly, textures. In a good falafel you get the crunch from the fried chick pea, soft creamy hummus and fresh salads. Every bite has something. The falafel in Soomsoom was pretty mushy, the pita had texture of a sponge and the old cuke/tomato salad was limp. The third aspect of falafel is the price. I’ve made falafel in the past. The cost is very low. For me, to pay 8 $ for a pita with 5 falafel balls, old veggies and not even a real israeli hot sauce(they had Tabasco!!!) is an outrage. And it had better be the best, most amazing falafel ever. Well, it wasn’t. Why the 2 stars? Donno, it’s the holiday season and I’m being nice

Very good falafel place. As a carnivore, I was surprised how much I liked the vegetarian fare. Monday is bogo(with purchase of drink. I did think the lemonade was a little bitter but I did go late at night so it’s probably my fault. It’s always my fault according to dad.

A nice option in the Lincoln Square lunch tundra. It feels like a chain falafel spot. It’s not the best or as super fresh as some of the reviews here state, but the food is healthy and decently priced. I was most impressed with the baba ganouj(listed as «eggplant» on the menu) and the pita bread, which is a pillowy pocket, perfect for soaking up lots of sauce. Other yums were the tabouli(more grain, less green) and the mild green sauce. Service is a bit up and down — when I ordered on Seamless, the woman called to sternly tell me that they’d taken the side salad option off the menu but that she’d make it for me since I didn’t know. Oh, my bad for assuming an item on the Seamless menu is a menu offering. And thanks for calling to tell me how wonderful you are for sacrificing your principles to make the salad. But when I arrived at the store, she was very smiley and gracious and I felt bad about the above conversation I’d had in my head when she called. So, I guess what I’m saying is: be prepared for an emotional journey that ends in a pretty good lunch.

Am I being judged for stuffing my falafel sandwich with an insane amount of food from the salad bar? Probably… But hey the people behind the counter were nice about it. Come here for crazy mondays buy 1 get 1 free on soomsoom original or sabich.
