Hot tamales! I mean burritos. Damn good burritos. Tasty goodness wrapped in a heavenly little flour tortilla. Actually, a big tortilla. Great value and a speedy meal before and/or after a night of dancing.

For almost 15 years, I have frequented this Burritoville on 72nd. Though the prices have gone up, the quality remains good. Lately their nachos platter has gotten smaller. And the salsa has lost it’s chunk. The brownie and blondie are now packed and don’t have the homemade feel that they used to have. Aside from that, it’s a place I’ll always visit. The prices and the quality are definitely«bang for your buck» worthy. I usually get the Border on a chipotle tortilla. If you eat in, you can take complimentary chips and salsa. Black bean soup as well as the chilli are excellent. Great place for vegetarians and health-conscious folks.

Delicious, HEALTHY burritos. Their tacos were also very good. Salsa and chips were okayyyyy, not that great. Still, the main food itself is much better than, say, Chipotle, and a heck of a lot healthier for you. Chipotle’s burritos usually have about 1,000 calories in them, no lie, and this place cuts back on that since they use tofu sour cream and soy cheese and brown rice. Fantastic. I’ll definitely go back.

Good burritos. Filling and good quality ingredients. The salsa needs a little more work since it was neither spicey nor chunky and was more slush. I need good salsa on my burrito! Also the names of the burritos are soooo not authentic… the burrito I got is called Mystical Frisco Burrito. Who on earth named this burrito? A hippy high on weed… definitely not a Mexican! That is for SURE! Unlimited salsa and chips but neither were good. Burrito was decent even if it was given a hideous name.

as a californian, i am suprised to say that i finally found a nyc burrito joint that is tasty. this place is a bit more non-traditional: whole wheat tortilla, soy cheese, tofu sour cream, and brown rice. but i felt like i was eating a healthy dish, and it was tasty at the same time. i got the veggie sante fe, which essentially was a vegan burrito, and i NEVER eat vegan, and it was good. the grilled veggies had a good flavor to them. also tried the veggie border burrito and that was very tasty.

Querido Señor Burritoville, The Mexican Burrito was okay but spicy it was not You delivered my food super fast but my burrito wasn’t hot :( You give large portions I must admit it truly was a lot So lower your price and then I’ll think twice of giving you a second shot Atentamente, Samantha

I go here pretty regularly and always order double wrapped tacos(taco smothered with bean paste on the outside then wrapped in tortilla) with chicken, and they never disappoint. My boyfriend usually gets a burrito and ends up saying«I’ve had better,» and when I realize he’s talking about the burrito I breath a sigh of relief and take comfort in my delectable double wrapped tacos.

I know it’s not authentic, but I enjoyed it one rainy night. Good taste. The salsa made my eyes water so of course I appreciated it. Unlimited chips and salsa!!! WAhoooooooooooooooooooo

What is so hard about making Mexican food? If you have wrapped anything in a tortilla, you’re pretty much half way there! It’s a sad state of affairs when mass Mexican places like Chipotle pass for the best one can get for Mexican cuisine. *sigh* So it was a surprising delight when I gave into Burritoville. A name like that conjures visions of Spinach Tortillas, no refried beans, cilantro rice and all kinds of Tex Mess! Well, they do have that, BUT they also have some hidden treasures. I was really impressed with the«Mexican Burrito,» which contained refried beans, cilantro rice, sour cream, cheese, salsa fresca and Chicken done in Anchiote sauce. I think they forgot the refried beans, because I didn’t see or taste anything, but whatever did end up making it into this burrito, it was FABULOUS. I was so surprised. It definitely takes a cue from Chipotle with its menu, consisting of bowls or what they call«unwrapped burrito» and other over the top vegetarian and ‘wraps” selections, but unlike others, it uses a good amount of spices and salsa’s to make it a more than a passable selection for Mexican.

I’m slowly beginning to truly understand that there is no good mexican food in New York City. The locals may protest, but i simply wave my born-and-raised-in-California credentials at them, and assure them that if they’ve lived here all their life, they may not actually know what good mexican food is. My first thought when perusing the menu at Burritoville was, ‘wow, they actually use cheddar and jack, not swiss or muenster like the places i’ve seen in Hell’s Kitchen.’ In fact, most of their menu contained actual components of mexican food, it was quite impressive. They didn’t even have jasmine rice as an option, i was floored. So, as i all but have to, i got the vegetarian burrito.(Going vegetarian is a great way to speed up your ordering time at most restaurants. There’s usually only one or two options.) It was entirely decent. It didn’t even make me sick later with surprise bacon or lard in the beans, which is amazingly rare. They were, of course, not generous with the sour cream or cheese, so i mostly had a bean-and-rice burrito. I loves me my cheese, and sour cream, so this was sad. Maybe i’ll go again and politely ask for extra extra extra cheese. As for the free chips and salsa, maybe i caught them on an off day, but the chips were incredibly stale, and the salsa was all spice and no flavor. I got what i paid for, i suppose.

Named after Jimmy Buffett’s drunk reference to his equipment(Which of you ladies wants to take the train to burritoville?), this place does the trick when you want a solid burrito. I like their burritos better than most Mexican restaurants in the area as well as Harry’s Burritos. They’ve got a nice variety of Chicken and Veggie Burritos, a couple Beef Burrito options, and then the standard Mexican offerings like acos, quesadilla, chips w/salsa, etc.(No pork option — boo!) I’ve stuck w/the burritos. I’ve tried the Mystical Frisco Chicken Burrito and Mexican Burrito(achiote chicken) and found both to be filling and tasty. The chips are so-so. Best thing I can say for them is they’re free if you eat in. Delivery is fast.

Only had takeout here once(last night for dinner) so I will be happy to revise my ranking if the next experience allows me to do so, but after last night’s meal, it’s going to be a while before this place gets a second chance. The burrito was big, as advertised, but nothing special. The«enchillada» looked like someone had shaken up the bag for 5 minutes before it was delivered. The delivery was slow(about 50 minutes from order time on Seamless Web), and the food was 100% average.

We ordered delivery from Burritoville last night. My burrito was as big as everyone had led me to believe, and it was fairly tasty, but my husband’s meal was kind of pathetic looking. His enchilada was just stuffed in the corner of the plastic container(we weren’t even sure if it really was an enchilada) and no pico de gallo was included. The experience was kind of marginal, I’m sorry to say.

Okay, I’ve only eaten here once, so maybe I should give it a second chance. Burritoville is not bad, it’s just not good either. It’s not quite as good as Chipotle or Qdoba, but costs slightly more.

I have to say that the Burritoville burrito is quite mediocre.(Brown rice in a burrito, ick). However, the thing that salvages this place is the all-you-can-eat salsa with the wonderful green spicy salsa.

Love this place! I get the Chili Con Carne burrito every time and every time it’s delicious. They pack their burritos really densely with fresh-tasting ingredients. Plus free chips and salsa if you eat in! I like the green, «Sweet with the Heat» jalapeño salsa even thought it destoys my mouth every time I eat it.

Well its NYC’s best and most authentic fast food burrito place. The massive, fresh, super brown rice stuffed burritos come in your choice of tortilla with a great selection of catchy sounding stuffings. The food is cheap, and nothing comes from a can. If you eat at one of the four booths then you can much on all the chips and salsa you want. How can you beat that?
