I order food from this place once a week. I really love their food but tonight I decided to call in because I wanted to hear if they had any specials that weren’t on the menu. Someone named John took my order and I asked him if they have a grandma pie and he replied back saying yes we call it the circolo Nona. Well I pictured it as a grandma pie in a circular shape and ordered it. The pie came and it looked NOTHING like a grandma pie. This guy fooled us and gave us a pie that tasted horrible. Nothing about it looks like a grandma pie! Shame on you, ruining our dinner!

I have a love hate relationship with Noi Due, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. We love the food at Noi Due but we hate their no reservation policy — which usually requires you to wait for thirty to forty-five minutes for a table. Read full review here:

Normally I would say I love Noi Due. We’ve been going for a few years and although we don’t eat strictly at kosher restaurants, we actually enjoy the food and service there. But tonight… sucked, frankly. We went with two other couples and were excited about going there. My husband and I always get the same thing and it’s because we know it’s always delicious — in fact, I would say we were all really pleased with our meals. I actually noticed that they were being really good about refilling our waters as well and diligently clearing our plates. The service was on-point. But then the refills stopped. And within a minute our glasses were taken away. I was actually still drinking but had put my cup down and would have asked for more water. I turned to my friend and asked if that was a hint and they wanted us out, and it was honestly distracting that we couldn’t even be sitting there drinking water. Just a couple minutes later they came by and wiped the table down and the busboy thanked us and wished us a good night. Then the owner or manager came over and said, «Thank you for coming.» I turned to him and as a joke said, «Are you kicking us out?» He said, «No, I was just thanking you. There are other people waiting.» I said, «Well our waters were cleared and the table was just cleaned so you are kicking us out.» He began to argue with me, saying that he saw that we were done with our meal. I said we actually weren’t, that I was still drinking when my glass was cleared, and that if they had another party they could have just told us that rather than completely clearing the table until we felt unwelcome. He said that he saw them clear our table when we were done and that if we weren’t we could have said no, and I responded that they never asked. They just took them from us. I told him that my husband and I come there frequently and that this was really poor customer service, to which he responded — GETTHIS! — «We have the best customer service of any kosher restaurant in this city.» I said, «You are absolutely right — you do — but that’s really not a high bar to set.» Honestly, I’m sad. I really liked the food there and it’s close to where we live, but for the owner/manager to say that was really rude. He should have apologized and explained that there were others waiting because the food was good, but ultimately we were probably at the table for an hour total and it sucked to be rushed out like that when actually, there were other open tables and not many people waiting for them. Truly, that sucked and I’m so disappointed I’m not sure I will ever go back.

From start to finish everything was good especially for kosher. Ambiance is dark and warm, great for a date. All of the apps we had were great especially the mozz sticks with the fresh basil tomato sauce. Both salads we tried were excellent. The best thing I tasted is sweet potato ravioli with almond pesto sauce. It had just the right amount of sweet and salty. Enjoy

Let me tell you a story of a couple that wanted to go out one night for a casual Date night, and the wife suggested Noi Due(Which actually means«The two of us») so the man right away checks it out on Unilocal and, Um, Meh, Ah?! 3.5 stars? Lotsa people complain about rude service, overpriced dishes etc. dunno… but some friends claim that it’s worth trying out, so off they zoom to noi due. They find parking around the corner but that stupid parking meter doesn’t allow more then one hour, so tha man has to run out in middle of the meal to refill the meter… Finding the location was a bit tricky for them since noi due is located underground and therefore is easy to miss, upon entering the maître informs them that since all tables are full(and they do not take reservations) the wait time will be about 15 minutes or he offered them to eat at the bar, they choose to wait for a table, but sit down at the bar for a quick drink, the man takes a germen beer named Schneider Weisse which was actually great and the bartender was also very nice and although the lady didn’t take anything he put down for her a glass of water and offered a menu to check out while they wait…(Those small nice things brings people back with a ripple effect) Once a table was ready they where seated and received the most awesome waiter that the place has, his name is Ayal who although he is Israeli, he totally nails that Italian look and French/Italian accent and is super nice and informative, so the couple listens to him for the specials that are off the menu and take a few dishes per his recommendations, and the results where pure perfection! First they where served the fresh, warm and crunch homemade rolls with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip, then came out the Hand made spinach ricotta cigars with the freshest marinara out there,(You where literally able to taste that these where just hours ago, nice plumpy red tomato’s!) and the second appetizer was the **Drum Roll** «Risotto Cheese Balls» and this was crowned as the winning dish of the night! It’s deliciously seasoned risotto with lots of cheese, crispy and crunchy on the outside but yet so soft, savory, delicious on the inside!!! If there is something that I would definitely invest my stocks in, then it would be this awesome dish! As soon as they where done with the appetizers the busboys quickly cleared the table and refilled the cups with water and Ayal went over to them and had a very nice schmooze with them about how everything of the menu you is mad in house and nothing comes from these commercial kitchen stuff out there.(And the flavor and freshness of the food proves him 100% right) Afterwards the main dish comes out, a Carciofo thin crust pizza topped with spinach, cream, artichoke, mozzarella, parmigiana. and the Chop Chop salad which was from the special menu, and let me tell you, that salad is something special, it is not your typical tomato, pickle, pepper, romaine etc. salad, it is made out of lots of freshly chopped Parsley, Mint, Celery with a garnish of crunchy pecans and cranberries and on the rim it has a delicious labneh sauce with two pieces of crusty bread and melted mozzarella on top of them. the results for this salad where also, Fireworks in your brain and a foodgasam in your mouth! Would they return? Absofrickenloutly Yes!!! Was it worth the wait, slightly cramped seating, a bit overpriced? Oh yah! totally worth it and they would definitely recommend you to give ita try when your out for a casual date and down for some real fresh and tasty Italian food! P. S. if you’re still reading this, I solemnly thank you from the bottom of my heart! It’s good to know that there are still some people out there who like a story… ;-P

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at for both kosher and unkosher. Waiters are on point and so is the food.(Great Sangria). Only downside is no reservations but it’s worth the wait. Go!

My classmates and I did our annual secret santa dinner here this winter. The restaurant was very accommodating of our requests. The food was some of the best Italian food i’ve ever had. I will definitely return. Two of us got there a little early and we enjoyed drinks at the bar before meeting the others. If I remember correctly, we got mozzarella sticks, lasagna, eggplant parmesan, gnocchi, and a couple of pizzas. This is definitely one of the better places on the UWS, a hidden gem(it’s actually kind of hidden from street level, and is on a street rather than an avenue). i definitely would love to return.

Better than average kosher food at high prices. Atmosphere is noisy and cramped. Due to no reservations and crowds waiting to eat you are not dining but pushed to eat and leave. They wipe the table as soon as you eat the last bite.

When I was living on the UWS this was a weekly go to. It’s kosher, which means it’s pricey, but the food is very good quality and I’ve never had something I didn’t like(however I usually stick to the same thing). If you go at a prime time(Sunday nights particularly), this place can be packed. It’s usually one guy thats the hostess and he tries to get everyone seated in a decent amount of time but that’s not always the case. I’ve often seen people bothering him for a table when they have been waiting for quiet a while. However, you can always usually grab a spot at the full-service bar. The waiter comes up to you and asks if you want to hear the specials. I would advise against it for 2 reasons — it’s a very very long list and you probably wont remember anything, and it is posted on chalkboards all around the restaurant. Also the specials are pretty much the same every time I’m there. Some of my favorite appetizers are the sweet potato fries and the mac and cheese balls. The sweet potato fries are chunky and not too greasy, and come with ketchup and some chipotle aioli-type sauce. My go to entrée is the mediterranean salad with salmon. I made a bunch of switches to the salad, and they never have a problem with it. Also only one time they’ve messed it up, and that was on a take out order over the phone. The salad comes with finely chopped vegetables and a creamy dressing. The salmon and feta are both perfect touches to the fresh vegetables. I am a big fan of their salmon, and I usually don’t love it in restaurants. The firenze salad is also a good option. All in all, it’s a hefty bill for just an appetizer and salad, but it’s kosher and the food is good quality. I tend to pay a visit every time I’m meeting friends on the UWS.

I keep Kosher but I eat dairy and fish at non-kosher restaurants. I am pleased to say that this restaurant holds up nicely against non-kosher competition, Recommend for both Kosher and Vegetarian communities as a good place for Italian food. First, I liked the ambiance. It looked nice and had a «modern Italian» look to it. This is amazing since most Kosher restaurants have no ambiance whatsoever. The service was outstanding! Wait staff and bus staff very attentive. Manager/owner«touched»(greeted) every table. Good variety of food choices. Everything we ate was pretty much on par with what we would get at an mid-to-upscale Italian restaurant. Again, though, it is only dairy and fish. So the comparison is made on that basis. The food and service were way better than most Kosher restaurants I have been to, as was the general look of the place. That’s why I give it 4 stars. If I were to strictly compare all of these things with a non-kosher restaurant, I would probably give it 3.5 stars. The reasons for the slight downgrade are as follows: Very cramped inside. Hardly enough room to sit at your table comfortably, much less move your chair to go to the bathroom. Very, very noisy. While this is true of ALL kosher restaurants, it was particularly out of sync with the great tasting food, decent décor and excellent staff. No full bar. Just kosher wine(nothing very good, for those of us who know the difference) and a few beers(in bottles). Beer list is not very good either. It’s a bit pricey, but it is Upper West Side and Kosher, so not out of line for those things. Definitely will go back!

Back after a year and a half. Still the same impeccable service, amazingly fresh and tasty food and warm atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Anything ordered was über tasty, incredibly fresh and original. Tons of pride you can feel and taste in the preparation, presentation… Owner still super approachable and great to deal with. For all the haters, I’d say to prospective Unilocalers: pay no attention. Probably competitors, or rude people behaving like jerks, expecting great responses from workforce. Sorry folks, doesn’t work like that. You want great service, you give respect and a smile first. Going to back to food, had two meals here. Pizzas, pastas, antipastis… All sensational. Don’t even need to break it down. Just wonderfully tasty and fresh. Pure Italian cuisine at its best. Overall experience: A++++. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this restaurant experience. I came on a night that the restaurant was sort of jammed packed and had a line out the door. Their organization, small wait time, and calmness despite the big crowd is something I marveled at. And last but not least The food was excellent!

My wife and I have been there a couple of times. Food is a(very) bad imitation of Italian food. Standards are probably ok for the average American, and especially kosher observant Jews, but for a European, this food is really low quality. And, like most of kosher places in Manhattan, overpriced. Our main problem was when we went there with my mother-in-law to celebrate a relevant date(7÷29÷2015). The restaurant has the policy to not let you sit until all guests are present. Fair enough. My wife and I were put in a corner, without being invited to sit in the bar, not even allowed to. My wife was nervous because my mother-in-law was just two blocks away and the restaurant began to be crowded really fast. She tried to convince the maitre to let us sit at the table, unsuccessfully. The maitre was even suggesting that they didn’t need us as costumers. At this point, I suggested her to move to another place. When we were leaving the restaurant, the maitre was scorning us with sarcasm like«we’re so sorry to see you leave.» He even followed us to the street. Just outside the restaurant, we met my mother-in-law. We then headed to another kosher Italian restaurant in the East Side, where food are more reasonably Italian – though they still don’t know how to make pasta al dente.

Most aggressive atmosphere, don’t waste your time going there. Every second the waiters come by to push another thing off the menu, And when you receive the dish, they are pushing the next thing. My husband spoke to the unprofessional manager after we paid and the manager’s response was«sorry, its busy, blood is boiling, we have a timetable for every dish to come out» so basically, 10 seconds between dishes? We told him ok, so we don’t plan on coming back. His response, «ok, sorry you feel that way» stay away from this place unless you want to feel you are in the shuk.

Amazing food. Seriously the best kosher Italian restaurant in the city. Start with the bread & tamponade. Then — The stuffed Bronzino is to die for. Pair it with a delicious Riesling and the cheese ravioli as an antipasto and you’re in food heaven. If you’re feeling ambitious, add the olive & feta flatbread to Round it all out. Golan(the owner) and the Chef, Mati — deliver a top notch, fresh, flavorful, well balanced, delicious product every time. This place is a gem.

Of all the restaurants I ate at during a recent trip to the city, I was most impressed with Noidue. Admittedly it isn’t the easiest place to find from the street, and is located down a flight of stairs on the basement level of some building, but it’s worth the trip. The food is fantastic. We ordered the margarita pizza and were advised by the waitress that it was a personal size pie, but there was more than enough for all of us to share. The pizza itself was delicious(think of it more as an Italian flatbread pizza than a traditional New York-style pizza). I also had a Caesar salad which was great as well. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate peanut butter soufflé, which I will say was well worth the price of over $ 10 for the plate. The service was great; very friendly and attentive. Overall I highly recommend.
