Just moved from Lower Manhattan to the UES and am still feeling out the scene. I am a wing geek and need to find my best wing and beer options. I’m up here less than a week so it’s only the second place of tried. Glad I did. Wings were very good. Started with Medium and they had a nice kick. Looking forward to the hot. Draft beer selection was soft with only 8 however it was a good 8. Music was right up my alley … Contradictory indie /emo /90’s alternative. I suspect that will change dependent on the bar tender. Enough Televisions to get a good look at a couple games. Indoor and street seating. Reasonably priced for NYC standards. I will definitely go back.

This place is like Anna Nicole smith when she was fat… kinda messed up, really dirty, a little high, really cheap… but kinda fabulous in that dive bar grimey kinda way… and you just want to keep coming back… especially on Wednesday wing nights when the wings are 35 cents. Not the best wings I’ve ever had… not by far… but it’s 35 cents and I’m usually hungry. Also they are nice enough to let you take them home.

Wednesdays they have wings for like .25 cents! Wings beers, fun people and nice music. I do not ever see people dancing here but is fun for bringing friends and talking.

One of the best dive bars of the UES! Great food, great prices and the bar is always filled with characters. If your a day time drinker, Charlie is the best around.

Cool bar to grab a drink on a Friday or Saturday night with friends. If your a Rangers fan you will sure to love this place because they are too! Not sure how pricey the drinks are here because I was part of a party who had drink special wrist bands. Staff was very friendly and attentive. DJ played some old skool/current tunes. I was lucky enough to find street parking 2 blocks away but there was a parking garage right there too which would make an easy walk to this place. Would love to come back again.

I go to this bar just on Wednesday for wing night. Great deal, 35c/wing and amazing choices of beers. Fries are awesome too. Staff not always super friendly.

Kind of funny how few reviews there are for this place considering the traffic this place sees. Makes sense tho, I’ve been coming here for wing night for literally a decade(crap I’m old) and finally even bothered to think about putting down a review. This is basically the quintessential dive bar and it hits a good number of notes for what this place is. Wings are great, good size, come out piping hot, decent blue cheese. Wish you could get hotter wings, but they have no levels of heat. The fries are good too. Tap beers are super cold usually which I love. Tons of tv’s to catch the game on too. As far as weekday options go, this is a pretty decent watering hole. I’ve probably ambled in here occasionally on a weekend night after hitting other bars, but less of a preference for me then.

Pretty solid spot… Highly recommend… Best prices around Upper East Side for happy hour although if anyone sees prices that are better… Let me know… It was a great meet up for me and my co-hort… Got a couple of beers and ribs. Which surprisingly filled us up… The locals around the area were really nice and even joined our non informative conversations which was pretty cool. I had a great vibe off of these places compared to some of these other spots on Upper East. Will definitely make this a routine based off of my colleagues feedback as well!

Love Rathbones! Moved the the neighborhood about 5 months ago and it’s one of our favorites for after work food and drinks. Great place to watch a game or catch up with friends. Great specials.

Honestly, this place is basically like my living room, if my living room had solid bar food served by really nice people. This has become our go to neighborhood spot when we want something chill(often for several hours a time). They have great specials – seriously $ 10 for brunch with a cocktail or $ 10 burger and a beer night – and the staff is all incredible. The owner has a clear commitment to creating a warm environment and making sure your game is on if he can. I imagine we will keep coming back regularly.

Came here on a Wednesday night by myself as I live in the neighborhood and recently saw their chalkboard on the street promoting 35 cent wing night and $ 3 drafts. Got here around 7pm and it took a while to get a seat at the bar. The restaurant seating was crowded and I believe there was a wait for a table. The space behind the bar seating is pretty narrow so foot traffic will be squeezing by you or over your shoulder to get a drink at the bar. The wings were great. Not overly sauced and had a good crunch, which I like… really great at 35 cents a pop. You can mix and match, though I stuck to the hot wings. Hot was pretty hot, but not insane. The $ 3 Coors light drafts washed it down nicely as well. I inquired if I could get wings to go, however the bartender told me they had to be eaten in-house, which makes sense… though I had a couple left over and they packed them up for me. Be warned there is a $ 20 credit card minimum! Definitely a good place to watch a game, though I could imagine it would get crowded if a big event was on. Plenty of TVs. Good wings… fairly friendly(busy) bartenders… okay space… great special. Will come back.

Get the Mac-N-Cheese. Be nice to Charlie he’s a great bartender and works hard. Anna is really nice too and competent. Only drawback is it’s a Rangers(hack hack) bar.

Great place to go for pub fare, to watch the game, or just for a fun late night out. I’ve been to Rathbone’s on several occasions and have always had a good time. They have really DELICIOUS food options and all for extremely reasonable prices. The staff is always kind and accommodating. I do wish there were more seating/standing options when watching some of the sporting events(last time I was there I felt like myself and my friend were constantly in the way of foot traffic), but that can be hard to manage. All in all, a terrific spot and one that I would definitely recommend.

Great low key bar right by my apartment? Score! They have specials every day of the week but the one that caught my eye was 35 cent wings and $ 3⁄10 pints/pitchers of Coors on Wednesdays starting at 7pm. My friend and I came at 7:15pm and the waitress said there was already a 40 min wait ahead of us! Trust me, this place is more popular than the average sports bar. After finally getting seated outside, we ordered 25 wings(15 hot, 10 mild) and some beer. The wings came out quickly and the beer on tap was not watered down at all and actually very fairly priced($ 6 for Sam Adams Oktoberfest). Blue cheese with celery and carrots is the default option but feel free to ask for ranch instead. Practically EVERYONE got the wings, and for good reason. They were pretty average, but can’t complain for the price. I’m sure they’ll give you extra hot sauce if you ask for it :). Any uneaten wings they’re happy to give you a to-go box. They taste great the next day after softened and warmed up in the microwave. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to try out some of their other specials!

$ 0.35 wings on Wednesday! They were pretty decent wings. Nothing spectacular, buffalo mild kick, very plain and crappy Caesar salad– no toppings just shredded lettuce and tiny croutons $ 8. but the table service was fast and the Wednesday deal is obviously a great one. $ 3 coors draft as well. works out as a late night happy hour. Just be prepared to wait for a table.

We recently came here after a day at Six Flags. After being knocked around by rollercoasters all day, we both deserved a beer. Luckily, Rathbones offers a decent selection of beers for a decent price! I am happy to report that Sam Adams Oktoberfest is officially in stock, which to me means that this gross hot weather is on its way out! With that said, we both got a Sam Seasonal. I was told the burgers were served on English muffins so I was sold. I got myself a turkey burger with cheddar, along with a side of fries. The burger was massive and the fries were good and addicting. Everyone here is very nice and takes the time to talk with you. There are 2 flat screens outside showing whatever game is on and they ARE a Yankee bar so Mets fans: beware. Inside they have a decent-size bar with some tables and chairs. We opted to sit outside since it was a quiet night in the city and the weather was just right. Bathrooms are clean and not as small as they usually are in a bar environment. The kitchen is also open relatively late and they have specials throughout the week(such as wing night!). Definitely a great place that I’ll be visiting again.

Rathbones strikes me as the go-to bar for many UES-ers and I can understand why. A long bar counter with boisterous and friendly bartenders. In fact, the day I met up a few friends here was on race day and the bartender had on a horse head had surrounded by red roses — way to get into it! However, because it is the go-to spot for so many others, I felt completely out of place. And it just so happened that I was also starving and wanted to get some food. Asking for a table seemed to confuse the server and bit and she scrambled to get us a table that would seat 3 people comfortably. Once our food arrived — a heaping pile of nachos and their wings — I became a much happier camper. Good food, large portions, fast drink service. I do recommend Rathbones, but definitely will stick to this as a watering hole rather than a sit down, eat and drink place.

Really fun on Football Sundays! This spot gets packed so I suggest either waiting a few minutes for a table for mingling with the locals at the bar. Beer and food here is really cheap and pretty good. Lot’s of options for my hungry football-watching stomach!
