88 Fusion

This is like my go to sushi place. I love the staff here, they are super friendly. Coming here is like going home to visit family.
I always get uni with quail egg, their uni is very fresh. I love getting oysters here especially during happy hour when it’s a dollar.
The bar has some really great choices for drinks. My favorite is called «dreamer», though I’ve tried many.

This is the best sushi place around UES. I am of Asian descent so I know good from bad. And this is TOPS.
Perhaps a bit“pricey” (not my description but you get what you pay for.) Also nice is what
the restaurant is named for, fusion food, means Japanese, Chinese, Thai, etc. All
available here and expertly done. Very satisfied with it. Delivery takes no more than 15 min. from the time I put the phone down.
GO !!!

Ordered home delivery. Loved it.
Steamed broccoli with chicken. Brown sauce. Miso soup. White rice.
And delicious crab salad !!!

Perhaps this is not a phenomenon unique to 88 Fusion, but I’ll comment on it regardless, since it did turn what would otherwise have been a lovely birthday party into a event punctuated by «…so where is the sushi?» Huge delay in receiving the delivery — 60 minutes as opposed to the advertised 20 – 35 min. The food is at par in terms of quality.

This place is fantastic and has a tremendous menu with all different types of Asian cuisine. My favorite dish is the chicken Katsudon. I also love the tofu padthai. The portions are very large and usually last me two meals. It is a bit pricier but definitely worth it. I order from here at least once a week. If you’re looking for authentic and diverse Asian cuisine I highly recommend it.

My boyfriend ordered the beef udon soup for lunch delivery only to find a bunch of little bugs in his food. Absolutely revolting. There is really nothing else to be said here. Definitely check your food before you dig in!

I love the Shrimp Pad Thai great portion and love the service. Def a nice place to dine in !!!

This has quickly become my favorite go-​to place. Sometimes, once a day! The tom-​yum soup is the best. Not too oily, overpowering, or spicy– just perfect, with a hint of lemon.
The cucumber and avocado rolls (hand rolled) are scrumptious and the perfect meal!
Through seamless, the delivery service is very quick!

I’ve Seamlessed from here multiple times. Their chicken teriyaki lunch set is a WIN. Light and delicious and perfectly sized.

Large selection to choose from. Delivery makes it a great choice for a rainy night.
Wet towels are a bonus.

Long black hair on meal. Never going back again. After nicely telling the waiter that there is a long hair in my meal, she asked if I wanted her to replace it with another meal, didn’t even offer free meal or dessert. Mercy mercy mercy. Good luck to them.

I can’t tell how many times I have ordered from this restaurant. This is the best sushi/​naruto style Japanese restaurant on the UES.
Try the scallion pancakes, the aged tofu, the sea urchin sushi (the freshest I have ever tasted!!!) or the rainbow naruto… They are all exquisite. Miso soup lover, well, do not try it here however!
The price is in relation with the freshness and quality of the product.

I ordered delivery from here twice. Both experiences had no complaints.
I’ve only ordered the Thai basil chicken fried rice $ 11 which comes with jalapeño peppers. It has just the right level of spiciness and burn. $ 11 seems fairly steep for fried rice but it is served in a quart sized container.
Overall good flavor and spiciness. The extra $ 1 and amount of chicken that was given, no complaints. Decent portions where you will be satiated and even full.

I spend quite a bit of time on the UES and this is my go-​to sushi place for delivery or dine-​in. Maybe there is just an overabundance of sushi places up in this area, but the restaurant is hardly ever full. The sushi is good, the rock shrimp tempura and crab cheese rangoon appetizers are excellent. No complaints about any of the food myself or my friends have tried.
Service is great and delivery is quick. I have been a few times to order carry-​out and the host/​hostess is always quick to bring out water for me while I wait. I’m not in any hurry to try any other sushi place on the UES, 88 Fusion keeps me coming back.

The hand rolls were scrumptious! I also had the fried TOFU, served tempura style. The portion was so large! Fresh green tea, an A+ in my book.

I honestly have no idea what other reviews are talking about. My girlfriend and I thought the food here was delicious (I have a very good palette). Maybe they changed the head chef at some point in the last few months?
The décor is nice, the dining room is small but feels spacious, and the waiters are very kind.
My girlfriend ordered a Shrimp Tempura Roll and Salmon Teriyaki with white rice and a salad. While I ordered Crab Cheese Ragoon, Shrimp Tempura roll, Spider Maki roll, and a Spicy White Tuna roll.
Our orders, once placed, did not take long to arrive. I’d say that it took at most ten minutes for our food to arrive at our table. The plating was smart, clean and beautiful (especially the Crab Cheese Ragoons). Speaking of the ragoons, they were spot on and are not the size of nickels as another Unilocaler has mentioned. They were more like the size of quarters and you get 6 per order with a Dijon mustard garnish.
The portion size of the sushis were really nice. You could actually see the fish, shrimp, and crab in the rolls. White rice was not the star of the dish like in other sushi spots. That doesn’t mean that the rice didn’t taste good, but quite the opposite.
Not as important as the food, but I just have to note that the restroom was CLEAN! Which is something of a rarity in many restaurants nowadays.
Our bill came out to $ 48, which is a just a tiny bit more than I’ve paid in other locations, but the food was fresh and tasty, and the waiters nice and warm. Therefore, I felt that our meal, as an overall experience, was worth what we paid.

I’ve been here tons of times and have never had a bad experience.
Highlights: sweet potato roll, any of their well priced maki combos and their cocktails.
I just wish they would bring their lycheetini back. Even after they took it off the menu they would still let me order it but the last time I was there they had no lychees :(

Looking forward to a good Chinese place on my whirlwind trip I was invited to a meal by Stephanie L, and I must say her choice of venue was exactly what I was looking for.
I must say the staff is ridiculously nice. I felt welcome and they were very genuine. We shared the food — sushi, scallion pancakes and a few other things. All in all I am hoping to come back on my next trip here!

I have been scouring the UES for awesome sushi. I’ve definitely found some great places and 88 Fusion is one of them! First, the ambience is really great — not overwhelming or crazy. The servers are all SO NICE! Everything comes out fast and hot and the servers are so attentive.
I tried the scallion pancakes which are really tasty! Then I had a few rolls — all great — along with the shrimp shumai dumplings. I literally have zero complaints about the food — I thought it was all great!
Overall, I had a great time here. Everything came out fast and fresh and the service was really top notch. I’ll definitely be back here — with friends!

I walked by this place this morning and noticed the menu on the front window. They also serve lunch specials. There are two options, and both are three courses. Soup, appetizer, and main entrée. Some nice selections, but I still feel the pricing is a bit high for the area at $ 12 and $ 14 for the lunch special.
