Service was great, Erica was so sweet. My mothers steak had too much gristle and was hard to cut/eat.

I will not be ordering from here again. I clearly entered my address and the floor number in my order. The delivery guy said he arrived, yet I couldn’t find him on any floor of my building. And then he was all the way down in the lobby. Oh and then the door man said the delivery guy had my food on the floor. Never again!

I went here for lunch because the first bar we looked at was packed. Everything looks well designed and new. For starters, we had the honey BBQ wings which was crunchy and well coated in sauce at the same time. Next we had an inside out pizza ball thing, I do not know the name of it. I would skip this dish, not because it wasn’t well done but it doesn’t appeal to me. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich well good, I wasn’t a big fan of the bread. The fries that came with were very fresh and hot. What I like about this place is that they don’t seem to mass cook their food.

The cocktails are both tasty and generous, the food is fantastic(get the truffle fries, they’re AMAZING) and the crowd is really cool. This is a fantastic post-work hangout and I highly recommend it.

I’ve visited this establishment a couple times now. Once for my boyfriend’s birthday party and once for dinner/happy hour. The location is great because it’s both near my new office and Penn Station. There’s also a big flag to show you exactly where it is. Layout isn’t the best, but spacious enough to fit groups. Upon entering, you’re most likely to see a crowd at the bar because that’s where most people hang out if they’re just coming for drinks, but once you push your way through, there are tables and booths set up in the back with a bunch of TVs. Overall the place is clean and the waitstaff is friendly enough. I wasn’t all too impressed with the speed of service, but I guess they don’t want you to take advantage of the HH prices(the prices are good, but nothing amazing). The food is decent, but expensive. My group and I just ordered a bunch of apps because no one wanted a big meal that evening. I’d recommend getting either of the sliders, but I would not recommend the Brooklyn Beignets(so not impressed!!!). Overall, I’ve found that this is a good spot for after work drinks with friends, but it wasn’t super fun for celebrating a birthday. However, they will give the birthday person a free open bar if you do end up reserving the space there for your party. Good enough to try and visit now and then, not good enough for me to become a regular visitor.

Nice place to watch a football game. There is a large dining room past the bar with at least 3 big screen tv’s on both sides of the walls and one on the back wall. Good beer selections, wine not so good. $ 14 mixed drinks. Menu is small but the items we ordered were very good. We had the turkey burger sliders which were juicy and tasty. The mediterranean chicken salad and pulled pork sandwich were very good. Nice size dishes for the price. We actually ordered too much food and took home the salad and half the pulled pork sandwich. Our waitress was a bit flaky but the other staff members were professional. She did not even check with us after the meal was served. The good thing is we could have stayed for the entire Jets game since nobody rushed us out. Glad we left after the third qtr and missed the rest of the Jets game! One downside there were a disappointing amount of Pats fans. I don’t know why so many end up in NYC.

First I think the restaurant was overall an excellent experience. Would definitely go back again. While I enjoyed their«Proper Burger,» the presentation on the plate wasn’t great. The burger and fries seemed like they were just kind of thrown into a rectangular plate as though the plate was enough effort in presentation as it is. The presentation wasn’t up to par, in my opinion and I’ll get to that further down. That being said, The burger was cooked perfectly as asked and was very juicy without being very messy. Perhaps they could have seasoned the slab a little more but that’s just preference. I also tried the house special«Proper Ale». I’m definitely no connoisseur of ales but I enjoyed it and it went well with the burger. My date had a Gorgonzola salad with chicken. I tried a little of it and I thought it was an excellent balance between the greens, walnuts, berries, and grilled pears. The dressing was excellent as well. Light and just a little sweet, enough to emphasize the pears without overpowering the rest of the salad. Lastly, the ambiance of the bar had two excellent components, that when combined came out kind of weird: sports bar plus dimly lit classy lounge. The mix of dim lighting and paintings made a great setting for a nice date. That’s kind of why I expected nice presentation for the food. The tv screens everywhere were distracting. For a place that purports to be a sports bar though, the sports bar part was done well.

The place is a sports bar meets woodsy chic! There are classic and modern elements. There’s a bar when you first step in and a huge area in the back for seating(and a second floor — lofted!). I haven’t tried the food, but I was here for an event and the drinks were great! Drinks included beer, wine, sangria(white and red), and Old Fashioned with Buffalo Trace. The sangria was absolutely incredible!

My review is strictly for the venue. Stopped by here for a networking party but it was way too loud & too crowded for my tastes. I also didn’t run into anyone I knew and was reluctant about going to the event in the first place. I never did know if they were still serving food when I got there after 11 p.m. but they were semi-hard core about maintaining the«reserved» seating despite no one sitting in those spots and the place being a madhouse. Seems like a nice spot for an event or a lounge to hang out in but it was too freaking loud & crowded when I went. Maybe with softer & different music, this place is better; it does seem like a good one for events and I can’t argue about the classiness of the décor but it wasn’t something comfy for me. God only knows how the menu is or if the food is good.

Pros: price, atmosphere, layout of the restaurant and bar area plenty of stalls for the restrooms coat check discount for checking-in Cons: the service took a half hour for drinks and an hour for food it’s a «NFL sports bar,»… I asked to watch basketball and they said no, even though they had the same NFL game on four screens… and I was annoyed when we they said, «oh take a seat anywhere,» and we did, but the booth was reserved(no sign but w. e) so they asked us to move, so we did, but that party didn’t show up for two hours. But we had fun.

Been here quite a few times now and this bar is a good solid midtown bar. They have good happy hour deals and the wait staff is very nice and attentive. This place does get crowded and the back area with tables are only reserved for people who order food but what can one really expect from a midtown bar. It’s the typical trend of bars in this area. I ordered food for this first time here and that was adequate too. We got Parmesan truffle fries which were nice and crispy and had that truffle flavor. We also got a plate of calamari which I thought was a bit overcooked, crunchy but overly chewy, but it was a heaping amount, great for sharing and satisfying those drunk munchies. Overall it’s a good chill time. Décor is nice with plenty of TVs for sports watching and music is fun.

Fun to pop into, large TVs and an upstairs loft that you can put 100+ people into. Fun, and they had drink specials for our very enthusiastic group of alumni, and the bar was staffed reasonably well(3 people for the lot of us). $ 6 – 7 beer specials and drink specials for us. It was a good break, and prices were reasonable. Downside was a lack of seating, but I guess if you’re a good-sized bunch of people up there, not enough if you want more people… The downside was trying to find the stairs up, not well-labeled that they’re best accessed through a door you can’t see in the back(or walk towards the bathroom stairs down, and take a right to then go up the stairs).

Proper West has been given a proper welcome to Midtown. Located in a part of Manhattan I consider a wasteland, I am always happy to find a decent new spot for post work drinks. I’ve found myself at Proper West a few times for such occasions. The first time my coworkers planned a combined birthday party. I did not personally organize it, but from those who did, they were more than happy with the service they received. Our party was given the upstairs area and the happy hour was extended just for us. Plus, they gave the birthday ladies free drink vouchers for the night. The space itself is also great. Dark accents and dim lights give it a bit of a masculine feel and every time I go, there are always way more men to women. Overall, a relaxed crowd that wants to unwind after work. The two levels are great and there is a bar upstairs so you can be up there all night, sip whiskey, and people watch over the railing. The second time was for the lovely Elite event hosted in July. The bartenders and staff were fantastic and more than hospitable. This even helped to put their sangria on my radar because the sangria was all I remembered after that event! Also, sign up at the hostess stand for a chance to win an open bar. From my group of friends, we’ve won twice in one month! This will make your coworkers happy… it certainly has made mine!

I was in town(alone) for work and decided to eat here before seeing a Broadway show. I know it was early(like 6:00PM), so there was practically no one else in the restaurant with me except for maybe one table. I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly enough, but the food was underwhelming(guess that is what you get when you only pay about $ 25 for a steak in NYC though?). The side dishes completely stole the show — spinach with crab and mashed potatoes — which should not happen with a steak. I am thinking maybe this is more of a trendy hangout spot than a place for an actual meal? Or maybe a good place for a late night meal(where atmosphere is more valued than taste).

The sister bar to Manhattan Proper in the Tribeca /Financial District area. This is an upscale, swanky sports bar experience. Everything that you would need to watch a game — large screens, finger food, beer combined with the fine décor, whisky /bourbon /cocktails and the suits crowd. It’s conveniently located in smack in the middle of Midtown(how much more central can you get?). Walking in, the bar seems rather small but its an illusion. There is space on the first floor, a back room area and an upstairs area. I’m a huge fan of their Truffle Fries and Calamari! Great snacks to nibble on when watching a game or if you’re here for happy hour.

Stopped by for the first time for a Unilocal event.(Been back since for happy hour) Loc: Perfectly situated near the Times Square/Bryant Park stations to grab that train home. Didn’t even know it existed since it’s nestled on a side street away from the crazy tourist areas(thank God). Upscale, spacious sports bar with cool ambiance and modern décor. Good spot for a date night, girls’ night, guys’ night, etc… basically any event. You can sit at the bar or grab a table w/a server. Alcohol: I mean… those old fashioneds though. Bartenders were heavy-handed and drinks were tasty & good :) Bartender standout: MIKE White sangria was preferred over the red because it had a nice, peachy flavor(on sweet side) and the red was a bit more watered down/less flavorful. Food: I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was pretty delicious. I would say it has the appropriate bar food menu. I wouldn’t come here for the food though. It’s there for if you get the drunchies or wanna munch while watching a game, etc. Service: Outstanding! Our server, Banji, was amazingly wonderful. She predicted when we wanted our next round(probably a psychic) and was friendly, attentive, and all things nice. Definitely returning for HH + to visit Banji because she was that good to us!

Tried it once for lunch. Twelve beers on tap — I posted a pic. I had a Lagunitas. Not a big bar, maybe twelve stools. Plenty of four tops in the back. Bartender was efficient, nice enough. I went with a shrimp po-boy sandwich which was just OK. Came with good fries. But the kitchen got my food out fast. I may try them again.

We were looking for somewhere to watch the NBA All Star game and this place came highly recommended on Unilocal so we gave it a try. It was worryingly quiet when we arrived, but it soon filled up. We were sat underneath the air con, meaning it was bloody freezing! We complained but we’re told that it was controlled by the building rather than the bar, so there was nothing they could do. I hate being cold, it makes me miserable. But there were so many positives, that I didn’t mind watching the game in my coat, rather than my new All Star jersey! Firstly, 5 bottles of Coors on a game day costs a bargain $ 20! Secondly the food, which was a mixed bag. The starters were delicious and HUGE! The chicken wings were lip-tingly wonderful and very filling, but the star of the show was the calamari! We should have left it there, because my steak was disappointing. I like a bloody steak, and I asked for it rare, but this was borderline blue. It was covered in some sort of gravy too, so I didn’t feel like I could send it back. There were huge flat screens on the walls, both sides of the room, meaning I didn’t need to crane my neck around trying to see the game. Overall, a great place to watch a game, but don’t bother with a main course, as the starters are plenty big enough! Oh, and wear thermals! ;)
