Man, Pret just keeps getting worse and worse. I was a big fan when I was traveling in London(their home base) and in Hong Kong. I even thought they were good when I first started going in NYC about 18 months ago. But lately everything has just been heading downhill. It’s inconsistent; sometimes it’s still pretty good. But all too often the bread is hard and stale, or everything is soggy as if it’s been sitting in a refrigerator case all day, or the flavors just aren’t working together, or the piece of salmon is pitifully small for a bowl that costs $ 8.99 plus tax, or the sandwich is just irresponsibly sloppily made. Also it seems that the packaging for the sandwiches, the flatbreads, and the wraps are designed to make your hands messy when eating them; the baguette sandwiches work better because you can just pull open one end of the packaging and start eating(like you might with a chipotle burrito).

This is a welcome relief in the dull and dreary Penn Station. Finally, the place has some class. I like the fact that you can get your own coffee without being treated like a criminal. Dunkin Donuts should take notice. The place is pricey but the quality is good and that’s what important. Its not a place to linger because they have the music blasting. You can also charge your electronics. I saw one woman charging her computer without purchasing anything and taking up space. The staff should be more alert to these free loaders. As long as the quality of the food continues to be fresh, I’ll stay a fan.

VERY expensive for the VERY tiny portions. As far as Penn Station fast food this is a very welcome addition. Even though their food is way too small and very overpriced, it’s really quality food. The model is amazing, you walk in, find something, pay at the register and leave. Never have I been in and out of a place so quickly. Staff is mostly very friendly. –2 stars for being very overpriced and not having any type of rewards program to balance it out. +1 star for giving One Penn Plaza tenants free meals when you opened!

This is probably the only place to get something good at a decent price and decent quality at penn station. It’s clean and the staff is always friendly. I keep getting the same thing: yogurt cup, but they also have juices which I would try eventually. Anyways, the yogurt is good. I tried the mussli one with pomegranate seeds. That one is great. I also tried the one with apple and granola on top but I didn’t like the apple shavings(just skin) so I exchanged it for the mussli one which is always great.

This store never disappoints. Sandwich and salads are fresh delicious. Service is professional and courteous. Just had an egg salad that was excellent. Also line moves quickly.

I love this little café in Penn Station! They have healthy packaged meals and lots of coffee, although they don’t have any flavored coffee which I am partial to. They have your standard cappuccinos, espressos and lattes. Sometimes it is difficult to find something healthy to eat in Penn Station. Here, they have grilled chicken with beans, salads, sandwiches and vegetables to choose from. One complaint I had was that none of their drinks were cold. I came in looking for a cold water bottle and every single one I picked up was room temperature. They also didn’t have a bigger size than 20 ounces. One thing that I did like was that there were lots of visible outlets. It is so hard to find a place in Penn Station that had chargers. I went from store to store to store asking people if they would charge my phone for me and they wouldn’t. At Pret A Manger, they have a table with outlets located all around the outside with chairs. Much appreciated! The café is also very clean and light colored, very inviting!

I’m eternally grateful this has opened in Penn station. I travel a lot for work, and I finally have somewhere that’s somewhat healthy to eat. Honestly it shines like a beacon of light and freshness along the dingy gray row of fast food joints that make up most of Penn. Been here at all different hours, and the food usually seems pretty fresh. A few times they’ve forgotten my receipt, which I need for expenses, but service is generally good. They were out of bottled water once so they gave me another drink free. Score.

Clean, fast, good service. What more could you want? I stopped by for a quick breakfast on my way to work and was in and out within five minutes. The turkey arugula tomato sandwich I got was incredible(around $ 4) and I liked that I had the option to get half of a sandwich instead of a whole sandwich. The ingredients were fresh and the baguette seemed as if it had been just baked! Also, their iced coffee wasn’t too bad either. If you’re looking for something quick and easy, I highly recommend!

The chocolate chip cookie. That just-out-of-the-oven feel: warm, soft, chocolate oozing goodness. Just what I was wanting and hoping for in a cookie, I found here at Pret a Manger. Look for them at the counter. Nice addition to Penn Station, located on the lower level near NJTransit towards the ACE.

Shiny brand spanking new Pret A Manger location in the human armpit known as Penn Station. Open late too which was great as I was in Penn waiting for a train close to 11pm and needed a bite to eat. Salads, soups, sandwiches, wraps, etc, all fresh and more on the healthier side. Self serve coffee selections and a small seating area too. very clean looking overall. Let’s see if it stays that way as time goes on and humanoid foot traffic stomps through over the year. A better option for fresh food and coffee now. It’s nice to see some of these better chains such as Pret open in here as most of the food options really suck in Penn Station.

So excited to see Pret a manger opened at Penn station! Clean, a lot of seats to sit and great food options. No need to stand waiting for my train at nearby starbucks anymore! Plus Honey tangerine juice is great as always :)

This UK chain is an excellent addition to Penn Station, as well as a boon to those of us that work at One Penn Plaza. Located in the space that previously housed Radio Shack, Brookstone, Europan, and others, this facility has a large open space to accommodate crowds, a self-serve coffee bar(iced coffee and espresso are behind the counter), a small seating area, and a full wall of breakfast and luncheon options within refrigerated cases. All of the food is pre-made, but a hot case keeps oatmeal, wraps, and soup warm; panini are available toasted to order, and a few other hot items are on offer. The sandwiches and salads are very fresh; Pret claims that all food is prepared on-site, and it appears that the stock is refreshed throughout the day. The staff is friendly and efficient; this location just opened last week but doesn’t appear to have any growing pains as the staff settles into the rush of Penn Station. I’ve already visited a few times(so far I’ve purchased coffee, the blueberry & granola pot, and the falafel mezze salad, among other items). Four stars for coffee: a little too acidic for my taste(try Le Bön Café a few doors down for a smoother blend); five stars for everything else. I’ve visited other Pret locations before, so I was already familiar with the menu and knew what to expect with this location, but I look forward to having a new spot on my list of places to grab lunch.
