I just paid close to $ 6 for an iced green tea latte with soy milk. Light on ice. My cup wasn’t full — like an inch from top. Come on Starbucks! It’s not just this location. Your drinks are expensive. At least fill my cup to the top.

Overall good service. There are a few employees that raise the volume of the music to very high level. So much that you can’t hear the barrister call out any of the coffees ready. And forget conversation without yelling. I would say it’s just me but I turn left and right and I find general agreement. 5pm on June 15th2016.

Note: This review is in reference to this location — and does not reflect my views on Starbucks as a whole. The situation: It was a Sunday morning — I ordered a Tall Iced Mocha, and I received a Tall Chocolate Milk with ice. Because I was waiting for my track to post at Penn Station, I did not have time to bring it to their attention, or wait for my drink to be remade. So I suffered. The general appearance of this location was a bit dingy, so that only contributed to my discontent. Because I take my coffee very seriously(and hello! I need caffeine… and that didn’t happen!) I have rated this location 1 star, and will not return.

Fast, friendly service. My drink was made perfectly and my cookie was served quickly. The batista’s are also so pleasant and make sure you use your Starbucks card/app. Never a long wait. Jackie is great and she remembers my name and usual order

Stopped by to grab breakfast before hopping on the train. Staff was friendly and efficient. It was my first time ordering a breakfast sandwich from Starbucks and I was pleasantly surprised. My expectations were low after getting an inedible egg sandwich from a Dunkin Donuts at LaGuardia the other day. Although not exactly restaurant quality(this is still a pre made grab and go sandwich), my egg and cheese English muffin was hot and pretty good.

Im a frequent starbucks junkie and love my fraps. Love this place cause its so close to home and its open till late. And thats about it. Stopped by last night around 11pm so it was pretty dead, i was the only customer ordering and the Girl making my Frab had the only attitude when i said” Miss thats enough caramel.“ she turns around looks at me and says with an attitude«your suppose to tell that to the cashier, You say light on the caramel.» Her attitude took me by surprise since i wasn’t being rude or trying to be rude, she was just drowning my Frab in caramel. So i responded by saying, «OK, well I’m telling YOU that thats enough caramel, Thank you» wtf are you serious. No need for the attitude lady. This location is downstairs by the LIRR and the foot traffic down there is sooo horrible and hectic. I understand that a lot of pressure and hard work but No need for the attitude.

After my 120m long train ride that is normally 40, I get out and go to Starbucks. I’ve got a bunch of heavy stuff I’m taking back to my apartment with me. Nothing out the ordinary. I order a grande double chocolate chip Frap. A blueberry muffin And a coffee cake. I wait the normal amount of time, nothing bad there. Everyone was nice. That’s alright too. I get my stuff and walk out. Take a sip of my drink. They gave me a java chip and not double. Normally I’d say maybe the couldn’t read it, but they put a sticker on there and it had the right order. I lug my heavy stuff back after making it all the way to the escalator. They replace it with what I originally ordered. It’s okay people are human they make mistakes. I’m extra tired now. But not that annoyed. I go all the way back get up stairs get into a cab. And as I go to take a bite out of the blueberry muffin I really wanted after that long train ride. And it’s a chocolate scone. That’s weird. I check my receipt. It says blueberry muffin. So that’s two counts of heard me right just didn’t give a shit about what I said anyway. Normally all the Starbucks I go to are great. And this one is included, I’ve never had a problem. If it was one or the other I wouldn’t even consider writing this. But it’s not like I asked for some super complicated coffee drink, and it’s not like they couldn’t hear me, because everything was written down correctly. I was one of 2 people waiting for drinks so it wasn’t confusion. The people there just don’t care about their job or are the worst Starbucks employees in NYC. Because I’ve probably been to most of them.

I am a Starbucks frequent. I was super excited when I realized that they started the happy hour deal from 3 – 6 half off frapps and iced drinks. Since I arrived between those hours I was anticipating a longer than usual line. It was a super long line filled with iced and frapp drink orders; the baristas did a good job handling all of the volume. I ordered my usual green tea frapp and it is was tasty! I think that it’s a convenient location and they all have a sense of urgency that all Starbucks needs.

Admittedly, I am an infrequent starbucks buyer. So when I go to the store I often fumble through the ordering process like a newbie does and typically stick to a normal black coffee. When I saw that starbucks had a happy hour for frappuccino and I was going to be near one I thought it was a great opportunity to try something new. After waiting a few minutes in line I got to the register and showed the cashier the promo on my phone saying«Get half off any Frappuccino® blended beverage from 3 – 6. Members get early access(and an extra hour)». It was 6:45pm and I was unsure what this extra hour thing was for but she assured me it would be half off. She rang me out and it came to $ 6. Again I confirmed the promo was right and she shook her head yes and said it wouldn’t process until I scanned my card. I scanned my starbucks rewards card with only $ 3.50 on it and she asked for $ 2.50 more. I looked at her in confusion because it was as if she had heard nothing I asked prior til now. I again tried to confirm the promotion and she asked a coworker. The response was a yell to the entire line«ITSONLYFROM3−6». At that point I was so frustrated I just left empty handed. Simply embarrassing.

4 times out of 5, this venue serves lukewarm coffee. There’s no chance of this improving, the managers just don’t care. They will make it again for a hot brew but unfortunately you’ll have to wait 5 minutes. By the way, your train leaves in 4 minutes. Wonderful.

This is really a 2.5. I ordered a green tea. In a Venti, that comes with 2 tea bags. I requested one of the bags on the side because I don’t need 2 bags for that amount of water. The barista nodded as if she understood. I noticed as she was making my tea that she didn’t double cup. Tea water at Starbucks is over 200° so even with the sleeve it’s a lawsuit in the making. I had to ask her to double cup, which I know is their standard, but whatever, she complied. I took my eyes off her to get my app up to pay and this is where I faltered. She handed me my tea with both the bags in. I asked for the other bag, not yet seeing she had ignored my initial request for the bag on the side. She looked confused, brow furrowed, and then asked her supervisor to come help me as if this was that complicated. Long story short, they’re much quicker to take your money than they are to listen to you and for 3.21 for a cup of tea, that gets you a 2.5 in service.

Friendly, hard-working staff forced to slave away in the north end of Satan’s bowels. Considering the ambitious renovations that were done to neighboring businesses like Pret-A-Manager and Magnolia Bakery, you’d think corporate would take some pride in this location and give them a makeover. Instead, you’re treated to a dark and dingy coffee shop that just feels dirty all the time, which may be apropo considering you’re in Penn Station. The coffee works, though, and I suppose if you’re on the run, that’s really all that matters.

This is probably one of the only other option you’ll have before you catch a train here or when you get off a train. In the morning, there will be a line, a very LONG line. Also, this place is not very clean, as there was trash everywhere, and the milk and sugar table had garbage overflowing from the trash bins. The coffee and tea was okay, not like they make it at the Starbucks outside of Penn Station, but I guess because it was so crowded and there was a line, the baristas just hastily threw it in a cup and handed it to you. But if you really need a coffee, and don’t want to venture far out of the station, then I guess you can come here.

By far the slowest service and poorest quality of coffee in all of NYC and possibly the world. The people are cool but they just seem to be the B Team when it comes to quality of product. The other Starbucks near Penn are pretty amazing. You can walk in with 30 people in front of you and get your product within 10 mins. This place, if you have train to catch and have more than 1 person ahead of you… you’re toast. They need training. Unfortunately, it’s convenient for most Penn riders. #1stworldproblems

This location is a lifesaver when you’ve been stuck on a train for five hours with nothing but the train’s «meh”-quality coffee. Coming from the east set of tracks, the store is the easiest thing to locate. The lobby is very spacious and nicely designed to keep foot traffic free-flowing. My experience here was an interesting one. I had ordered a tall strawberry black tea, a very uncommon drink on the east coast I’m guessing, and the bar partner(drink maker) was very eager to make sure he made it correctly. Like other great moments of customer connection, he asked me which store I worked at and congratulated me for making it all the way from Hawaii. The drink was perfect, aside from the lack of «Thai»(condensed milk, a regional favorite) stirred in that I’m used to. I’d have to say overall, though, that this experience was not the best. The register partner ringing me up had a major attitude and put no effort into hiding it. As a Starbucks addict and a brand-loyal card collector, I naturally swiped eight New York card designs to load for $ 5 each, a total of $ 40. She very loudly sighed, and began to swipe them vigorously, despite my polite request for her to «go easy on them». I had even tried to give her a quick-ringing tip for gift cards(there’s a secret way to practically swipe-n-go), but she ignored me. Okay, got it — I’m backseat driving, take the long backroad. It was when I ordered my strawberry black tea that she threw down the«We don’t have that, end of story» card. After a short explanation that yes, I know there’s no strawberry syrup, and no, I don’t expect you to know the recipe, I told her EXACTLY how to write it(or provide the«Ask Me» function): Standard black tea, half the normal amount of water, the other half strawberry. Her bar partner was more than happy to do it, but her attitude about simply ringing the drink up was unnecessary. Maybe I’m just one of those customers who believes that quality of service severely outweighs the quality of food and beverage, I don’t know. I always thought I was nice… Good thing I have her partner numbers on my receipt.

«This isn’t a coffee cup.» The male employee said as he set my reusable bottle down. The female cashier(who was very nice) replied, «She wants it iced, so it should be fine.» The m. employees shrugged and proceeded to make it in the fashion he wanted. I was taken aback by his attitude and I respectfully addressed him bc i knew the traffic they must be busy. I asked him what was the matter, and he told me that he couldn’t put coffee in the cup that I have him. 1) the cashier said it was no trouble(she even was taken aback by his attitude) 2) other sb cafes had no problem, i even asked after this incident at another sb café if it was a problem and they said no!) 3) starbucks even gives u 10 cents off if you bring a reusable bottle So i told him that other cafes were fine with it and he shrugged, so i literally went and poured the coffee right into the bottle in front of him bc i couldnt bring an unsealed beverage into class. Then i went, «sir?» And showed him and he said, «oh, i dont know…» And then rolled his eyes at me. It ruined my mood for the day because he was so nasty and I was really frustrated because just because you’re busy doesn’t mean that customer service quality should be lowered as well. The other employees were perfectly nice, he just had a really bad attitude.

My go to Starbucks for penn station. Always a line but it goes very fast so don’t walk away. Staff is always friendly and gets the order right the first time. Make up a funny name and let the barista call it out a few times!

This one is a solid ‘bucks. Have always been given quality service here. And can often find a seat or two. Great spot to meet up with people. Awesome for people watching. narrow shop. But good location, especially during clement weather when you can sit outside on the steps and benches.

Despite the craziness of the urban setting, this place is smooth and clean. The staff do everything well and quickly. They’re always a wonderful team. The lines here are huge sometimes, which is a deterrent, but when they’re not so bad I’ll go for a cup of joe whenever I’m feeling in need of a little warmth or an extra kick. There’s fairly ample seating and tables for the space allotted, but it’s unlikely you’ll ever get one. This is a great place to grab and go, whether heading into or out of the city. Happy sips!(or chugs! {if you drink hot coffee like I do})
