MJ Pizza

$ 4, which is a good price for two plain cheese slices. They were big but average. However, this place is not a eat-​in place. There are two tables with two chairs each. If you live nearby or feel like grabbing a slice on the way, I approve.

My weekly go-​to! MJ Pizza is consistently amazing. The service is always friendly and welcoming. I eat their delicious pizza at least once a week. They also have great salads if you’re trying to stay healthy. A filling garden salad with fresh grilled chicken for only $ 5.50, can’t beat that. LOVE MJ PIZZA!

I don’t really consider this place a real pizzeria. The food is overpriced and not very tasty. The pinwheels are mostly dough with very little meat in them. Basically just another Asian run spot for ghetto youth to purchase unhealthy food via cash only. Cards have an added charge but at least they accept cards, which is rare in the hood.

Ordered from here at 12:30pm on a Friday for lunch with a friend. Prices were reasonable, and they had an array of items. My friend and I ordered off of seamless and got a Sicilian pie and two orders of garlic knots. The order was said to only take about 30 – 45 minutes and took an hour and a half! So my friend called them up and politely asked when the pizza would be arriving. To which she replied with rudely saying that it would get there and then my friend asked again when it would arrive and she replied 10 mins and hung up. I was shocked! The food didn’t get here for another 30 mins anyway. Once it has arrived the delivery man tossed us the pizza and ran off. Pretty rude. I’ve never dealt with such poor customer service! The pizza and Garlic knots were good but it wasn’t anything amazing and for such poor customer service it really isn’t spending money on.

The last time I’ve been to this pizza shop was almost 20 years ago… I recently moved back to the city and decided to give this new management a chance… I called and ordered shrimp parmesan wraps, the shrimps had pieces of the shell still stuck on It. Not to mention the shrimps were not cleaned. I ordered garlic bread with cheese and was charged!, never received It and upon callling MJ back their response was «the next time you come, we Will remember you and we Will give you the garlic bread with cheese». I also ordered a penne Alfredo /​chick, that was mediocre. Two thumbs down. horrible experience. Don’t spend your money. Go a couple of blocks downtown to Francescas on 1^st Ave.

I placed an order on seamless for mine and my boyfriends monthly junk food/​movie date that totaled just over $ 35 (when it’s only once a month we do it right) the order took about 45 minutes to arrive which was in the estimated window and the delivery guy wasn’t mean so that’s always a plus. Upon reviewing the order I noticed that the Buffalo fingers were missing a few things. On seamless it said it comes with French fries (which is why we ordered those instead of the wings for the same price) there were none. Also missing was blue cheese (um, seriously? How do you forget that?!) So I called the restaurant and told him what they forgot. He told me that seamless only has one option for the fingers with French fries but they offer it with 2 extra fingers and no fries and that is what he sent me. Uh dude, if I didn’t want fries I wouldn’t have gotten something that clearly said came with fries. So I said fine, but blue cheese is kind of necessary to anything buffalo related. He got really mad and said that if they got another order in the area that he would send the delivery guy back to me. At this, I clarified: «so you’re saying IF you get another order near me you’ll send him back. If not, then you won’t? You do realize that this was your mistake right?» Note: I’m only 5 blocks away from this place. the guy showed up 15 minutes later with blue cheese that smelled like it had been out of the fridge for days. Thanks, couldn’t be an adult about your own mistake now could you? Oh and the cheesecake tasted like rubber. Completely not edible. Needless to say I will never order from here again. I work in the restaurant industry and if you mess up you should be fine fixing it, not being a jerk to someone that was more than polite. Bad taste in my mouth from the attitude and the cheesecake!

This place’s sandwiches are good. I have had two experiences where they have made the wrong pizza, and I had a really bad experience with a wrongly made vegetable pizza just now. It tasted absolutely awful and was not what I ordered. They were very unhelpful with getting it fixed after I called back, so I eventually got frustrated and said forget it. I will not be returning. I think I’ve learned my lesson.

Excellent pizza. They use real cheese and its pretty cheap. Fettucini alfredo was great too! Owners are nice and friendly.

To me this is really hard to compare. If anything comes close, its My Pizza in The Bronx on University Ave. The only 2 great pizza spots to me.

Came here because I had nothing else to eat in the area and thought my pastrami was decent. Prices are pretty good though, you can get a combo with fries and a drink for about $ 5. If coming during rush hour, you have to push your way up to the counter to order.
