Papa John’s Pizza

This is one of the crappier Papa Johns I’ve ever been to. I don’t make a habit of buying chain pizza in NYC, especially with NYC hotspots like Patsy’s in the area, but sometimes the deals Papa Johns offers are too good to pass up. Anyway, if you do carryout at this location, it’s not that bad. My horrible experiences have been with delivery. Both times I had delivery from this place my order either didn’t show up (first time) or it came wrong and half the cheese had slide off the pizza. I’d try the papa johns on 92^nd and 3^rd if you can.

The most despicable, rotten, unprofessional, and down-​right disgusting service I’ve ever gotten.
We placed an order that was paid for over the phone right before 6:00pm. After an hour passed I called back, to hear employees cursring and shouting like hooligans, making me feel like a bother for calling, and then telling me «You didn’t place your order here» and hanging up without even checking to verify.
I called back, at this point very frustrated, and insisted she check on the order. After she checked on the order and confirm that it WAS indeed placed there, I heard someone say «oh shit — Yo run this out real quick!» — She apologized and sent them on her way at about 7:15 (order was placed before 6)
30 minutes later. 45 minutes later. 1 hour later. 1.5 HOURS LATER.
I call them back again and someone yells «Jesus, god damnit» they pass the phone around, put me on hold to speak to a manager, and then say that the manager left, but that my order hasn’t left yet and it’s leaving now… ARE YOU SERIOUS? That’s what they said TWO hours ago!
I had guests at my house for Superbowl, and we’re all super hungry.
I call back after waiting for 30 minutes more, and that little prick answers the phone and without even greeting me, says «WE“RE CLOSED» and HANGS UP!
I call back to face the same thing, manage to speak to someone, and they shout at me «THAT’S NOT MY PROBLEM, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME»
Unbelievable. I am fucking furious with this terrible service. They canceled my order and that was it… FOUR Hours laters. No sorry about that, no discount, no empathy, no caring, no nothing.
I don’t think I’ll ever use Papa John’s again.

Placed an order for delivery at 9:20pm. My pregnant wife was craving pizza. I called after 10pm to check the status, and the lady on the phone was unapologetic. She stated there was no way to track where the delivery was. My wife fell asleep at 11:15, the pizza still hadn’t arrived.

You know what to expect when you go to Papa Johns, and that same cheesy smell of happiness can be found here too. This Papa Johns is reliable and efficient. I have been ordering from here on occasion for about a year and never experienced any problems. I always pick up my orders myself so I cannot comment on their delivery service. As for the food itself, the orders have always been ready on time and have always been prepared correctly. The workers in there are reasonably friendly and will treat you with respect. Unlike some outlets that are super tiny, this one is spacious enough to have a wooden bench for you to rest on while you wait.
The ONE TIME that there was a mistake on my order it was my own fault. I placed the order to a different location and didn’t realize it until I went to pick up a pizza that was not there. The lady at the register was able to help me get the order canceled so that I could reuse the special promotion code I had to get a free pizza. She seemed more concerned with me getting back my money and promotion code than she was with trying to get me to order another pizza. I thought that was genuine and it made a difference.
