Best Irish pub food I have had in a long time. Owners are Irish and very nice. Beer and food prices are reasonable. If you are going to to jarvits convention center for work, definitely make the short walk there for a pint and a meal, you won’t be disappointed. The meatloaf and Yankee pot roast are fantastic.

Great food. Great drink prices. Great staff. We were very relieved to find a place close to our hotel(InterContinental) that wasn’t touristy or over priced. Everyone was gracious and kind. It wasn’t overly busy but there are obviously regulars here(which is a good sign). I cannot complain about anything. The bartenders were awesome. They even gave us advice for other local spots. Food was great!!! I love the homey, cozy feel of this place. We will be back before our trip ends!!!

This little pub is tucked on the west side. It felt like a very authentic pub experience. I came here with a couple of friends on a Friday night and was surprised to find that the place was not crowded at all. It was very laid back and overall a great for friends to gather if you’re looking for something chill. The bartender was super nice and engaging. The best part was the alcohol was super cheap. $ 3 for a half Guinness!

Second time there, Saturday nights seem a bit slow and quiet, but that’s fine. I love the rustic & casual vibe, very nice bartender/waiter, good inexpensive food, nothing fancy but just good comfort food, $ 10 for 10-pieces Spicy Fried Chicken Wings with Fries(appetizer), $ 10.95 Lamb Shank with Veggies & Mashed Potato, $ $ 9.95 Friend Chicken with Veggies & Mashed Potato.

I love this place. Yes, it probably does not really warrant 5 stars on a pure non-biased rating scale, but it has surprisingly good food, a good selection of draft beers, and very reasonable prices. The bartenders, Tim and TImmy, are very friendly and known to buy a round of shots. The Bar is probably 100 yards from the intrepid battleship, and it’s definitely worth stopping by if you are visiting there. They also get a good crowd after tradeshows at the Javits Center. But it is a great regular place for those of us who live close by. Highly recommended.

McQuaid’s will not win any awards for cleanliness or food, but it’s not a bad place to stop for a casual drink and some bar bites. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon looking for drinks and a lunch, and it seemed one overworked gal was both staffing the bar and acting as the server for the tables. I will say that she did an admirable job of keeping up with things and kept a smile on her face the whole time, but it was pretty apparent she needed some more assistance. I ordered the cheesesteak, it was not bad. My friends ordered a platter of fried appetizers, and it was what you’d expect. You shouldn’t come out of your way, but if you’re nearby and looking for a beer and casual bite, McQuaid’s isn’t a bad choice.

It was still St Pats day here… mix in march madness crowd and it was a very rambunctious bar. Loved it! Had tge chicken cordon bleu. Flavors was great. Little hard and I ended up sending it across the table. Oops. Mixed veggies and mashed potatoes were so freaking incredible. My friend had the baked meatloaf he doesn’t like mushrooms but still cleaned his plate.

So much better in the past few weeks as new chefs have come onboard. The packaging on take out food would win awards in a packaging competition.

I remember this place when they were on 14th St before the renaissance of the Meat Packing. They are pioneers in up and coming areas of NYC. Traditional NY Irish Bar, authentic Staff friendly service.

Always one of my favorite places to go for lunch or just to grab a drink after work with the co-workers. Always great bar food and the fact that it is family owned is great! Feels like you are in your basement at home hanging out with family!

cheap cold beers, good food. what more can you ask for from a pub? came here on NYE and was greeted promptly. Beers and food did not have an up-charge on NYE. Ordered the appetizers samplers with some friends and we had NOTHING bad to say about it

I’ve been in many Irish pubs all over the world, this one was just ‘meh’. I thought we were going to get some decent pub grub as we were in Hell’s Kitchen but alas we didn’t find what we were looking for. The atmosphere also was a bit of a downer as they looked to cater more to their locals and didn’t pay too much attention to the tourists. It seems like they’re running this pub as a half hearted hobby. It has so much potential but they really need to want that!

We were headed to Landmark Tavern up the street, but it was full, so we headed here for lunch — we were hungry! We had 8 people, and the place was almost empty when we got there. My husband and his friend were both in their Navy uniforms, and well, that sealed the deal. We got SUPERB service from everyone there. Very attentive, even to the kids, and they really went above and beyond. To top that, the waitress told us to put away our money — someone had paid for our meals. We suspect that it was her. That was amazing. The food — well, I’ll just say that the service sold us on this place.

Looking for an inexpensive Irishy, dive bar in Hell’s Kitchen? McQuaids has got you covered. I went in there on a recent Friday afternoon after work for drinks. The crowd was a mixture of old weirdos that had nothing better to do but drink all day, FedEx and UPS workers that just got off their shift from their massive nearby facilities and geeky hipsters just out of work from the giant Ogilvy headquarters office across the street. They also serve food, too. The prices were cheap, the TVs had ESPN and YES on and the bartenders did a good job refilling drinks. Can’t ask for much more than that.
