We ended our mother and son trip at this amazing place today. Traditional and best Irish plates we’ve ever had served with amazing friendly efficient service today. A must visit and bring your appetite for the portions. Loved the vibe and music too!

Hello this club refused me service! I asked for 6 shots of tequila to celebrate my birthday and they refused for 30 so minutes. They rejected my request simply because I was asian. This is racism and not okay. I saw how Asian customers have been treated and in the future, please avoid this trash establishment because it is the worst place I have ever been. Never have I been so disregarded as a customer and as a female. I hope you get shut down and everyone is aware of your racism. This is not appropriate and I think you need to learn some manners to deal with customers. You are disgusting and I hope you run out of business because it is a trash club. Goodbye. Have a great evening

Showed up at 4pm with my fiancé, just to try something new. Thought the atmosphere and décor was cozy and the food was decent, but that’s about all it had going for it. After being asked what we’d like to drink we both asked for waters with a lemon, simple enough. Waters came out promptly, lemons came about 15 minutes later when the waitress asked, «you wanted lemons, right?» I also asked for a refill about 10 minutes after we sat down, didn’t receive the refill until we were almost finished. That’s strike one. Now, after we were brought the waters we finally placed our orders. I ordered the shepherds pie and my fiancé ordered the fish and chips. Despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty quiet with numerous empty tables, it took at least 30min for our food to finally arrive. Strike two. Before we were brought our food, the waitress asked if we would like some bread, to which we both said yes. When did the bread come? Halfway through our dinner. She asked us, «do you still want the bread?» to which I replied, «well, we did ask for bread, so yes». One we finally received the bread, it was cold and stale, like it had been sitting out. That’s strike three. Never again will we go here. Go to Tir Na Nog instead. Much better experience. The shepherds pie wasn’t even that great, at least not«$ 18 good». On top of all that, not ONCE did our waitress stop by and ask if the food was good or if we needed anything else. I shouldn’t be able to go to Applebee’s or Friday’s and get better service than I do at a small mid-tier restaurant in Manhattan.

At the time of this particular Unilocal I think I have been to the Landmark Tavern a little over a dozen times over the last few years. While its been here for many decades it was not until I first adventured down to the Stage 48 club that I learned about it and sampled its offerings. Since that time at the venue, I have made it a habit of visiting The Landmark whenever I was hitting one of the conventions at the Jacob Javits center. If I was attending Comic Con, Photo Expo or Toy Fair, you could be rest assured that I would be making a visit to Landmark for some fine fare afterwards on one or two of its days. The space is cozy and offers a sizable front bar with plenty of places to sit and some tables on the side of it if you felt like sitting there. There is also a quieter dining room that is very comfortable so depending on who is with you for your visit you have a few options. I have done both but mostly have sat in the front to enjoy the vibe of the space,. Food wise I have never had a bad meal there and have tried the steak wrap, the burger, the sheperds pie and the fish and chips. All have been nicely sized portions that while filling my belly do not leave me feeling overstuffed. I don’t mind the size of the portions at all since I have a lengthy walk back to the train to let me work some of that out afterwards. Beverage wise they have a fully stocked bar but I am mostly a beer guy who sometimes drinks wine and the occasional but rare shot. I have stuck with the Guinness pint or their own blend of Lager if not getting a Stella Artois or a glass of wine. The pour a nice Guinness here for sure and while I have not yet gotten out to enjoy it, have some live music on some nights during the week which seems like an interesting thing to do. The staff is always very friendly to my guests and I when we come to visit and that is what gets the high rating and the admission that I am going there again soon. Nice work folks, keep it up.

Great pub when a pub is what you’re looking for. Our last real Irish pub just got demolished in Miami Beach so I’m always happy to stop in here for good drafts and Irish food when visiting the city. All the staff are friendly and helpful if I have questions about anything going on in the city too.

Please give their local craft beer a try. We had their lager and ale and both were delicious. It felt like family and everyone was nice and prompt Service. I had the fish and chips. It was a very large portion and hit the spot. My wife had the corn beef sandwich and loved it. I appreciate all the good Unilocalers help on this one.

One of the greatest places in New York for fish and chips. I took my friend who is from the UK here for a late dinner, she said it’s the best she’s ever had in the states. I agree. The Ruben is also amazing. This is one of the oldest taverns in New York, mostly everything is original. Wonderful staff and friendly service. Donnchadh and Abe are fabulous. Go for the fish and chips and stay for a few drinks at the bar. Always a good time.

We were tourists looking for decent food at a not NY style price. This place was nearby and based on reviews we gave it a go. Crisp white tablecloths, wonderful service, food prepared in a very reasonable amount of time. I had a grilled chicken wrap with tomato, pesto and mozzarella cheese and my husband had grilled chicken with avocado sandwich. Looked very good and tasted even better. My sandwich was $ 13 and his was similar. Both were served with the best freshly made fries we ever had and a nice lightly dressed salad of nice greens. A guy a the table beside us had the fish and chips and it looked delicious. The place has lots of character and, apparently is the 3rd oldest pub in NY. Great dark wood and a nice feel to it. It could, however, use a bit if TLC as paint was peeling way up on ductwork and other. I suggest you concentrate on the fine service, good food, ambiance and great prices for NY and let others worry about the paint. If I lived in the area it would be a place I would frequent on a regular basis.

Horrible freakin bar! Sat for 10 minutes at the EMPTY bar. Without an acknowledgment… Crappy bar. The bonus the amazing cab ride from There to Iggy’s!

I did not eat here, but from the previous reviews it seems like a great place. The one star is for the rude bartender I encountered. Don’t answer a customer’s question with a sarcastic reply. It’s part of your job to have knowledge of everything behind the bar and to answer any question a customer may have about what’s served at the bar. Yes, I can see what’s available, but if I need to ask, do your job and let me know. You would think the bartender would at least be courteous when the place wasn’t even that busy. I still left a tip and that’s only because I also work in the service industry.

Found this place on a list of bars to visit in New York City. It’s down near the Hudson River in an area where there are quite a few car dealerships — mainly locals I would assume. Friendly barkeep and the wait staff was efficient. Small selection of beers, clean all around(including the restrooms.) I’d stop in again, especially if I just wanted to relax with a beer and catch a game on TV.

I stumbled in here one night as my group of friends and I were starving and didn’t want to walk too far for food. The place was spacious, clean, and we were seated promptly. Food was for the most part abysmal. Actually, it might have been one of the worst tasting selections of food I’ve ever sampled. The burger was dry and tasteless. The wings were dryer than a California lawn during these times of drought(too soon?). The only reason this place didn’t get a 1 was because the house beer was decent, and the server was nice enough. Steer clear of this place for anything other than a drink or two.

Came by for lunch the other day and was presented a seat at the bar upon arrival. Apparently this is the oldest bar in Manhattan and is Michelin recommended for 2013. Ordered the Shepherd’s Pie and it came out huge! The ground lamb was very juicy and it also contained some carrots and peas… both of which were still half-cooked. It was topped with a lot of whipped potatoes. Service was okay by the bar tender… although they did add a 20% service charge to my tab?!? ~$ 21 after tax and tip for lunch.
