We have since been back a second time(again with out-of-town guests). Again, it was a very solid place for brunch. Kudos!

Food is just ok, tried the huevos rancheros and lacked flavor, pancakes were big but no originality to them, place looks a bit like an ikea showroom, coffee was decent. Service was great though! Probably won’t try again!

I’ve eaten at Community for brunch on two occasions now, and both experiences were fairly positive. However, I would like to caution my fellow gluten-free diners that Community serves Udi’s GF bread — a very sub-par brand by any standards, but especially for a restaurant of this caliber that prides itself on serving organic, all-natural, and farm-to-table cuisine. Community charges an additional $ 3 for the Udi’s bread, which is a bit steep for only two air-thin slices. While the Udi’s bread may be a convenient option for many diners, I would personally recommend choosing from one of the many naturally gluten-free dishes on the menu instead, like the huevos ranches or the vegetable frittata. Your palette and your wallet will thank you. And to the Community team, I hope that you will eventually consider serving fresh gluten-free bread. Meredith’s and The Gluten Free Bakery are fantastic options. Gluten-free bread issues aside, Community is a great restaurant featuring solid service, reasonable prices, and delicious cuisine in an attractive setting. It’s the perfect brunch spot to take friends and family visiting from out of town. But it can get crowded — plan accordingly!

This place is great for Brunch. I went with my mom and my brother. Even though they were super busy, they were able to seat us right away, and our food came in a timely manner. The server was very friendly and sensitive to my dietary restrictions. The food was very fresh, and the chefs knew exactly what they were doing. I ordered the eggs benedict florentine. The hollandaise sauce was perfect: smooth and mildly tart. The biscuit under it was cooked to perfection. The eggs were perfect: solid on the outside, runny on the inside. However, the spinach although cooked well, kind of took away from the dish. It was difficult to cut along with everything else, and pulling the spinach out from under the uncut part made parts of the egg fall off the biscuit. Had the spinach been softer, this would have been more enjoyable to eat. Otherwise, it tasted delicious. My brother had the Huevos Rancheros. I wish I had ordered that instead. It was delicious. His eggs were sunny side up, and perfectly runny. The beans were seasoned perfectly, as was the rest of the tomato sauce, The tortilla was fresh and soft, and it came with delicious guacamole and sour cream. My mother ordered the frittata, which was also very good. As per her request, they put less goat cheese. The flavors blended very well together. The portobello mushrooms were cut into small enough pieces to fit in one bite, but were soft enough to cut further if they were too big for you. The frittata itself was soft and fluffy without being undercooked. Their coffee is from Brooklyn Roasting Company. I don’t normally drink coffee, but I would have had a whole cup of it had I not ordered the hot chocolate, which was also delicious. The hot chocolate was made with real cocoa powder and milk. I gave this place four stars instead of five because of the consistency of the spinach in the eggs benedict florentine. Otherwise, I’d have given this place five stars.

I think this restaurant because everybody’s dish look so appealing to me!!! But unfortunately, I didn’t order correctly, the pumpkin dish was not that delicious, and it was from that dish that I started to dislike the flavour of pumpkin… The curry flatbread was too much… The sweet potato fries was good. The bartender was good, and the tap beer was a little bit bitter and little strong(maybe not…) I started to feel dizzy after I finish the beer, and put my head on my arms for a while, during that time I could hear that the white couple sitting next to me were laughing at me, who have already finished the same bottle of beer ahead of me… Finally I was waken up by the bartender although I don’t know what he said to me… This is the first meal that I have after this terrible semester…

Morningside Heights is in danger of reducing the aggregate«food quality» rating of Manhattan, as anybody who has lived around there knows. Deluxe, Tom’s, Le Monde = house of mediocrity to blech! Options have improved, though, since I «ruled» this place as an undergraduate(ha!) and Community is a popular option around here. I met up with my buddy Monica for dinner last night. We split a cheese board(only 13 bucks, a lot of cheese, including a «mean» goat). Then I had a roasted chicken entrée, and she had salmon on rice. Extra bonus: Monica is pregnant, so she can only have well-done salmon and has to avoid certain veggies. Unfortunately, the salmon came out a little undercooked and the veggies in question were there. But they quickly came back with a newly cooked dish, no questions asked. That’s service! Flourless chocolate cake was dope.(What’s the selling point of «flourless» though? Is there really a group of people totally disgusted by flour?) I’ll be coming back! It’s probably the best place in Morningside Heights.

I had the best ravioli that I’ve had before here. The warm lentil salad is very delicious, served with some exceptional secret dressing. My friend said the tuna appetizer she ordered was amazing too. I like the interior design. And the service was so good, too.

This was definitely a delightful food experience. I mean I usually don’t have exciting local New Yorkers take me to their neighborhood delights, especially class Southern transplants. We had the brunch and per her recommendation, we both had the community omelet. I can see some people not being a fan of this please because it is all about have the super rustic taste and feel. My Omelet was perfectly made and I appreciated the flavor within the mushrooms and EXCITING carrot hash. Nothing to write home to mom about it, but definitely a hearty experience. Great reunion location!

This review is just for the drunken dinner I had about a month back with a girlfriend of mine. We’d been drinking at Bob’s Your Uncle on 105th street, and after hearing consistently good things about Community Food & Juice I decided to try them for dinner. Side note: I’d been dying to try these banana walnut pancakes with warm maple butter and/or an omelet during their breakfast hours because I’m always starving in my office. They won’t take your order for takeout over the phone!!! You have to physically walk in and order at the bar to have your food made even if you’re taking it out. This will probably NEVER work for me during the work day, so I guess I’ll try their breakfast options at brunch. I settled for dinner when I decided to eat here that evening because the only thing that came to mind when I thought of trying this place was«PANCAKE». Anywho, we stopped by for dinner and I must admit I wasn’t thoroughly impressed. The corn pudding served with the scallops was meh at best, although the snap peas had some nice flavor and the tomatoes were a nice naturally sweet pairing with the corn purée. The scallops had a nice sear, but were a little overcooked and nearing the rubbery side. The salmon and cucumber crude was probably the best thing my friend and I had all night. Light, well dressed, and refreshing on that painfully hot day. I’ll just say there’s really nothing to write home about with the zucchini scallion pancakes. A bit oily, bordering on flavorless, and paired with dipping sauce that was too heavy on the vinegar. Not to be a Grumpy Gus, but I’ve ad better from Chinese take out places(that will actually let me call ahead and pick up my food). Overall, I didn’t hate it, but it was a bit pricey for me to not LOVE it. I’m sure I’ll revisit, but definitely not for dinner. I’ll see what breakfast has to offer and hope they don’t fail me.

An meinem letzten Tag in New York führte mich der Weg hierin.
