I feel like this place might deserve two stars because our waitress was really nice, but the food was terrible and overpriced, and the portions were tiny. I’ve been here for a drink, and it’s nice when they have live music playing, but as a restaurant it’s pretty bad, even for the area. Definitely not going back.

I’ve been here 4 – 5 times. First several times, I would have rated a 5. Last time was slightly disappointing for some reason but I think it was fluke. I’d go again. Some people seem to avoid this area but it’s not that bad. Love the unlimited mimosas and the brunch menu is great.

All we had here were a few glasses of rose and an app. The bistro fries are good. So are the fried free beans, sea scallops and oyster mushrooms. Great quick food. Mushrooms were amazing. Def come here if you’re on the upper west side or in Harlem.

Fantastic service. The food was at best mediocre. The restaurant offers a good number of choices so as not to be boring and not too many to worry you that you’re eating yesterday’s reheated left overs. But why I needed a steak knife to cut into the roasted chicken skin is beyond me. I can only surmise it was either coated with the rubber they make tires out of or left over and reheated to a rubbery burnt crisp. The pasta is probably the way to go.

This was my second time visiting this location. I moved out of the city and I do not get back too often. It was a sad occasion because I was catching up with a friend who lost someone recently; however, the experience and service were still remarkable. We were able to enjoy our food and drinks while catching up quietly at the bar. The staff is awesome. Rachel, one of the hostesses, was very friendly and accommodating. The French onion soup here is delicious! I was told I should try the red sangria so I will be doing that on my next visit! See you soon!

I would give 3.5 if I could, but service at dinner was just too good… Our first experience was dinner, with a groupon. I had the cod which was cooked perfectly. My husband had the gnocchi, which I found oily. Salad appetizer and fried cheese balls were delicious. Something would have to be wrong to mess up fried cheese. The real stand out, though, was the lovely waitress and the atmosphere. Went back for brunch last week, and I think 3 stars would be generous. It was a completely different experience. We arrived rather late, so the crowd was thinning. We were seated in the side room, 3 adults and a toddler. To start, the food took forever to come. They did bring the baby’s food fastest, at about 15 minutes, but the plate which was supposed to be salmon, potatoes and green bean were missing the green beans. I asked the waiter about this, and had to go find him 5 minutes later as he didn’t even come back with a response. Similarly, I ordered the bottomless mimosa, and had to go find the waiter every time I wanted a refill. And let’s not get crazy here, I only had three glasses total, nothing compared to my pre-baby days. Finally, they charged separately for the bottomless drink and brunch, although there was a fixed(lower) price to combine them. They did fix it when I asked. Food at brunch, also not so impressive. My omelette was fine, the french toast was small, and poached eggs were very overcooked. So if I’m leaving reviews for both, I’d balance it out as a 4, although the two experiences were vastly different

I have dined here once before, during the Summer time. They had tables and chairs outside, and since it was a nice weather, we sat outside. It was really nice. This time, we sat in the inside. They have an open coat closet right at the entrance, so if you don’t mind leaving your coats there, you can hang it there instead of taking it to your table. We took advantage of their coat closet so that we didn’t have to carry heavy coats to our table. It seemed like they have two dining room, and I think they were only using one of the dining room as they were not so busy. Since their weekend brunch ends at 3pm, and we got there around 1pm, people were finishing up and leaving. They also had nice bar area. They didn’t pack the space with too many tables or chairs, which was nice, so that we had enough time to walk around, and didn’t feel like people were on top of each other like at some other NYC restaurants. We ordered pancakes, mussels, and some desserts. Everything was really tasty and we enjoyed it a lot. Our waitress was really nice and sweet, and she took care of us with a nice smile. Read my full review of this restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

I really want to like this restaurant but after going three times, I have yet to be impressed. The food is pricey and the menu selections are limited. The burger is the best item on the menu in my opinion. Great location, but during my most recent visit, there was an extremely rowdy crowd there for happy hour which made it difficult to enjoy the environment. I could overlook the noise if the food was worth the price.

Food poisoning. I ordered a burger medium rare, pretty much ate the outsides, and about ½ way through I said to my friend that I was starting to feel horrible and needed to leave. As soon as we got out of the restaurant I started vomiting violently. I managed to get home, and the vomiting started back up and it’s was a nice filled with nausea, sweats, and weakness. I’ve eaten at this place several times and have always been pleased, but this dinner did me in with respect to the restaurant and hamburgers. I called the restaurant this morning to tell them what happened and the response was, «OK.» No, «I’m sorry that happened. I hope you’re feeling better.» — no compassion at all, which is another reason why I’d never return.

A real nice joint, unpretentious but well-maintained, great drinks(try the barrel-aged Manhattan, it’s something different and the best parts of the drink), very good food, and very friendly staff. Thursday night is jazz night and it’s real good stuff, too.

Came for the 2 for 1 happy hour drinks. The 2 for 1 selection wasn’t too long, but the choices were decent and I was happy with the generous wine pours. The charcuterie and cheese had a better selection and came with healthy servings as well. What killed me about this place was the service. Near the shadow of the cathedral isn’t a bad place to get stuck, but I spent around 30 minutes longer than necessary here waiting for the second happy hour glass. My girlfriend and I were the only table outside, and our waitress said it took so long because she thought another lady had helped us. We didn’t see another lady serving anyone. If it wasn’t for the bus boy I don’t know if we would have ever gotten our check and gotten out of there. Visit for the drinks and food if you have the time, but block out a couple hours just in case.

While the food here is hit or miss, I keep coming back for the great outdoor seating with the best view in Manhattan. You’re basically across the street from the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. I’ve been here for lunch, brunch and dinner. Brunch is the best. The Eggs Benedict, Cinnamon Challah French Toast, Corned Beef Hash(my favorite), Banana Walnut Pancakes and Mushroom Omelet are all superb. Be sure to try the side of Macaroni & Cheese and Brussels Sprouts(if you still have room!). For just $ 12.50 on top of your entrée, you can get a great Bloody Mary or a rather strong Mimosa. If breakfast food isn’t your thing, they have a VERY good Sirloin Burger and Prince Edward Island Mussels(the best is the Classic: white wine, butter, garlic, shallot and herbs). Be sure to make a reservation for brunch, but note that they DONOT allow reservations for outdoor dining. That is first come, first served. You won’t regret an afternoon spent here.

I recently moved to the Upper West side and was looking around for a great Brunch location — HEREITIS! Let me explain… 1) The Restaurant — The décor is just elegant enough to make you feel like this place is high end, but not high end that you wouldn’t be able to wear jeans or short; 2) The Staff — Professional, hardworking and courteous — sit at the bar and ask for JACKIE!!; 3) The food — very well executed and great for brunch. This place has the favorites and also new takes on brunch food — DELISH!!! Also, on Sundays — add on the $ 12.50 for the UNLIMITED two hour bloodies and mimosas! I will return Over and Over — CHECKITOUT!!!

I came here twice using Groupon vouchers and i must say, if it wasnt so far from me, this place would be a regular spot for me. Both times we had the sea scallops as an appetizer. Sea scallops were cooked to perfection. moist and tender. Everything from the shiitake mushrooms, the peas and the potato rosti made this my favorite appetizer. As a second appetizer ham & poached egg salad with a dijon vinegarette. Delicious! All the components of the salad came very well together. For entrée, my boyfriend For the skirt steak and i had the ragout in appetizer size. The skirt steak was huge in portion and juicy! Unfortunately it did not come out medium rare like we asked and came out medium well. The steak was unevenly cooked. Some parts of the steak was medium, and some was well. Ragout was delicious. My favorite dish in the restaurant and i love that they offer different sizes. What i wasn’t a big fan of in this restaurant is the seating. i came here twice, maybe a year apart and was always seated in a tiny table where i can bump elbows with people beside me… when the rest of the restaurant is empty. When i was being seated by my waiter, there was water glasses from the tables next to us and jackets on the chair. It was very awkward asking the other guest to move their stuff. Waiter just walked away even though he noticed it too. Food is outstanding but dining experience is not as amazing.

I went to Bistro Ten18 last night with my husband for a dinner date and was pleasantly surprised to find this cute restaurant with the a jazz band playing! The band was great and created a relaxing mood in the restaurant. It is definitely gives the intimate and cozy feel of a neighborhood restaurant, without the buzz and pretentiousness of its downtown counterparts. The service was excellent our waiter was very friendly. Now with the food. I ordered the seared scallops and the hubby ordered the beet and aged goat cheese. I grew up in Cape Cod and my town has a early Scallop festival, so for me to say the scallops were excellent should mean something ;-) Onwards with the entrée, I had the skit steak with the fries. The steak was pretty big(I had to bring some home) the fries were delicious with a touch of Rosemary that makes them stand out. The hubby got the salmon, which surprised both of us as it was the way we both like it. Crispy on the outside and yet moist inside. It had a touch of smokiness to it which was a pleasant surprise. As you can tell we were very pleased. I think I just found my new favorite place uptown.

Steak. Medium Rare. Now go! Trust me. wow. They did not have the Sangiovese so I ordered a glass of the delicious Pinot. If you love wine then it can get a bit pricey here, so maybe come try the steak during Happy Hour from 4PM — 7PM. They also have fun specials for different days, so check out their site. Remember: steak. mmmm(*homer simpson voice).

Came here for brunch over the weekend with my cousin and a friend because I had a voucher for 2 entrees and an appetizer. The outdoor dining area is a little smaller than expected, but it is right across a Cathedral and has a pretty nice view, so I can’t complain too much. I had the Fettuccine with Chorizo and Shellfish Beurre and I was disappointed with the small portion; the mussels were extremely tiny and there were only a few pieces of seafood. Taste-wise, it was not terrible but the sausage pieces didn’t make this as enjoyable. My cousin and friend were also not too thrilled about their meals, but neither disappointed. The Corned Beef Hash was actually smaller than it was and it didn’t seem to be worth the $ 15 it costs. Something I immediately noticed was that there was something ashy on the tip of my water glass, and long and behold, it was powdery when I tried to rub it off. I couldn’t believe our server didn’t care to notice this at all. Service was okay; wasn’t thoroughly attentive, even though it was almost empty. Brunch can be done better elsewhere.
