Came here unexpectedly with friends because Community next door gave us a 45 minute wait — we were all glad we stumbled in here though! I got the seafood risotto and loved, loved, loved, loved the octopus. The octopus was so very soft, tender and seared to perfection! It was just too bad there were literally only 3 pieces of it in the entire dish. Not sure if the dish was worth $ 16 given the dish consisted of 3 octopus legs + rice + pieces of cheese… but I’m still very satisfied with the octopus! One of my friends ordered the avocado toast; I tried some of it and while I was impressed by the quantity of real crab meat(we were expecting imitation crab meat), the dish itself was a bit bland — think about it, it’s just avocado, crab meat, and arugula on toast. Put some black peppers or add a spice of sorts! Also, the avocado was not cut but placed whole on top of the toast, making it difficult for my friend to cut and eat especially given the avocado was not yet entirely ripe… food for thought, literally :) There isn’t much here for me to eat since I’m gluten free, but it’s a cute place with a fairly interesting menu, acceptable service, and reasonable prices.

Le Monde a very cute authentic French restaurant with great service and delicious food. I would recommend the salmon and French onion soup. They also have a great brunch menu!

Went into this place because the wait was too long at community next door where my hubby and I usually go. Big mistake we should have stayed at community. The service here was midiocor and the grilled ham and cheese I waited for 35 min wasn’t worth the Wait the bread was cheap I could have done a better one at home and really 35 min for a grilled ham and cheese wth. Never again

Back in my student days, Le Monde was the place to celebrate birthdays because it was one of the nicer places in the vicinity. However, with age comes hindsight and wisdom. Le Monde really wasn’t that great– mediocre French food with unjustifiable prices.

5 stars for the amazing Molly Ringwald look alike behind the bar who makes a killer mimosa. How does one make a killer mimosa, you ask? Easy. With way more champagne than OJ! Anyway, the bartender had really great energy. I would come back here just for drinks because I like the vibe, and most likely only at night. The food left me unsatisfied. The presentation of the food itself was flawless, but the flavors were missing. They were a bit off to me. I’d probably come back to try a steak dinner instead of the brunch. When you’ve had Crepes from Pates Et Traditions in Williamsburgh, it’s hard to find anything that can match.

Went to Le Monde once with my boyfriend and his parents. His dad’s must go restaurant in NYC. Like the french chips there. But French toast is not so good.

Met a friend their for brunch and decided to try the Pain Perdu a la brioche — broche french toast with milk jam(caramel spead), but I had it with syrup instead. The french toast was very light, tasteful and fulling. My friend had the Crêpe Bourguignonne, which is crêpe fillwed with stewed beef in a red wine sauce, spinach with sunny eggs, except she had them skipped the eggs. I sampled her dish and it was good. Great customer service.

I’m sorry. This place is a bust. I ordered a croque Madame for $ 14 and it looks(and tastes) like Kraft cheese and ham cold cuts on wonder bread. Don’t bother.

What I tried: French onion soup, Caesar salad, salade a la morocaine, malbec Came here after seeing a movie on the west side and was in the mood for a lighter dinner(alas salade a la morocaine). I enjoyed it and it was just what I was in the mood for. However, it was nothing quite special and only had 1 skinny sausage on top. I also tried my friend’s soup and salad– again nothing special. I’ve had better french onion soup before, but it was OK. The service was fairly attentive and the restaurant was quite large with plenty of seating. Seemed to be a slightly older crowd, but that was fine by me as I’m a grandma at heart. I’d go back if I was nearby looking to grab a bite, but wouldnt necessarily plan on going back.

Had a late meal there last night. Seared tuna salad. A bit of a twist on a Nicoise but better. Some nice crusty bread to soak up the various delicious purees. Had a half carafe of wine; pinot blanc, that paired perfectly with the dish. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. Will go back the next time I’m near Columbia.

This is a weekly-go to place for me and my husband. –Best French fries I’ve ever had! For some reason, they usually do better job for dinner! I ordered once for brunch and it’s a little disappointed. –Like the pre-fix dinner menu! Great selections of dishes, a lot of food but won’t break the bank! –Great wine selection! Love the margarita!

Fantastic! Just like eating in a neighborhood bistro in France. It’s calm, quiet and relaxed. Love it! The service is great… it’s NOT annoying, pester you, «are you okay?» every 2 seconds, in your face NYC service, where they empty the first bottle of wine before the salad appears. It feels just like a French or Belgian brasserie. In other words, they leave you alone until you ask for something. Yes, you can even pour your own wine without pi$$ing off your waiter! The food is excellent. They have classic bistro food as well as some Mediterranean things. They even have some good Provençal rosé! If you’re craving a glass of eau municipal, a Croque Madame and a pitcher de rosé… GO!

A while back, my boyfriend at the time and I were really craving brunch food and came across this little place. We had been passing it for months, so we thought we should give this place a try. I ordered the stuffed French toast and he ordered the eggs Scandinavian. Overall, we both were pretty satisfied about our choices. Since then, we continued going back. This small place is a good choice if you’re looking to have brunch with friends. Their out door seating is nice for the warm weather times and their service is accommodating.

I was very hesitant going here because of all the iffy reviews. But my friends and I heard good things about it so we gave it a shot. And it’s also my goal to go to all the«tour de France» restaurants that are listed :) Thursday night, around 7:30pm. The place was pretty full to my surprise. The crowd ranged from families to college students, so it was a good mix. Nothing super fancy, so no need the feel to dress up. I ordered the seared tuna salad($ 14). It’s not the typical tossed salad that you may imagine it to be, so some may think it’s underwhelming. But it was still good. The tuna is frozen I think, not fresh. So that’s a bummer. My friend got the risotto(which was very flavorful) and the other got 2 tapas: the salmon tartar and the eggplant dish. I believe they both liked their choices. Other dishes that I saw a lot of tables ordering: 1. Burger — they have a beef and veggie option. $ 2 for cheese or bacon. 2. Mussels We ended the night with a cup of hot Americano, iced café latte and the Mona Lisa cake. The cake was scrumptious. Our waitress was very sweet and I have no complaints. One of my friends can’t eat eggs so when asking about the desserts, our waiter was kind enough to check 3 times which ones don’t contain eggs(unfortunately they all do). But never did she give a grimace about needing to check. Overall, it was a good restaurant(it’s a toss up between a 3.5 or 4). Was it the best? No. And I may not venture to it again for awhile, but my experience was not terrible as many people reviewed it to be.

Stopped in with a friend for some food and conversation. We were directed to a lovely corner outdoor table by the VERY gracious host. Our waitress was distant and distracted. My friend asked for butter for her pancakes 4 times without success. We ordered a martini, the waitress inquired about it’s quality as there was a bartender training that afternoon. We told her the drink was good but had far to little vodka in it for a $ 12 cocktail. She kind of nodded but did nothing else to respond to that feedback.

Horrible service, horrible food. Summing it up for you quickly if you are debating if you should drop in for a bite to eat. I think they take forever to take your order, and deliver the food because they want you to sit in here as long as possible to make their business look busy. I caught on, yes. My food was cold, so I needed to send it back. Although they tried to accommodate, I felt that I was given a slight attitude when I was asked if everything was ok. Perhaps it was cultural. Our orders took a VERYLONGTIME. Caesar salad tasted very fishy. Perhaps too much anchovies in the dressing? One of our wait staff was drunk. Bottom of my salmon was burned. Mashed Potatoes were very bland. Considering my dish was $ 25, I expected a lot. PROS: Superb chocolate mouse. Decent Brussel sprouts

Waitor is too smart for his own good. Added an extremely expensive salad that we didn’t even order. Then when asked for the bill, he combined all 8 of ours’ with a 20% tip already added. When kindly asked for the bill to be split into separate individual ones, the waiter snarly said he could only split up to four. I have never heard this before from any restaurant. Furthermore, none of them speak French, and when asked what certain words on the menu meant, waiter conveniently chose ignorance. I’ve personally been to Paris, this place certainly does not serve authentic French food — very bland and hardly any flavor. Never again!

I was looking for a new brunch spot by my apartment to have a nice relaxing Sunday brunch. If that’s what you are looking for do not come here. The service was horrible, we waited 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order and over an hour for our food and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The server was horrible and didn’t come over at all. Do not go to this restaurant! We asked for the manager to talk to and he made us wait. Awful Awful place.

Customer service is nonexistent in this place. I got tricked at coming back, from friends to join them for dinner, everything was a disaster. Bottle of wine was hot, huge laps of time from drinks order to delivery, asked for a cheese plate and it took 30 mns, had to ask for utensils and bread, all this in an empty restaurant on a Sunday night. We had a waiter with a serious«ADHD» problem, definitely we felt like he wasn’t trying hard to accommodate us. But the icing on the cake was Miss Iceberg /James Bond movies Villain look alike /Confrontational manager … Their computer system went down and they couldn’t process our credit card but we all had to leave, 45 minutes after asking for the bill, we finally were on our way out and we didn’t have enough cash but offered to leave our coordinates to pay later. Thankfully a screenshot of a friend’s credit card was given to them, so everything worked out well for the payment at the end. My issue was how the all thing got dealt with by their obnoxious manager, no apologies, butting in our conversation in french and trying to pick a fight with us, arguing about how long it took to get the bill instead of diffusing the situation in a proper manner . Is this supposed to be the representation of your establishment ? This place has a knack to upset their customers, instead of trying to get repeat business… I’ve been there before and there are always problems of all sorts. Avoid this place at all costs !!!

Stopped in for a box of assorted pastries today and paid top dollar for something that was unpresentable when I arrived at my friend’s house. There was black hair on several of the pieces in the box and one piece — which is thought to be a mini sponge cake — decomposed. When I made my selection I asked what each piece was and was told«assorted pastries.» I’m taking my receipt back tomorrow along with the hairy pastry. I ordered a café au lait earlier and should have guessed from the way the waitress asked, «And what’s in that?» That it wasn’t smart to come back, but I was hard pressed to find something akin to French pastry for an event I was attending in the area.
