I like this place! I usually just get an iced coffee but treated myself to a latte with no sugar added vanilla powder, which was soooooo good. Still sweet, but not overly so. They don’t have as many syrup options at Starbucks, but I like what5 they do serve, so if you have the chance to pick between the Bux and Coffee Bean, try coffee bean for a change!

Pleasant staff, good prices and good speciality coffee and bagels. We stayed 3 nights and went here every morning. Only 4 stars because they don’t keep up after wiping the tables. Usually sticky surfaces all over, but great for grabbing a cup and a bagel. Lots of locals meet there.

I used to love coming here for my morning coffee. But the staff changed over the past several months and service has gone downhill. I went in for coffee, yesterday. Three people were behind the counter. No one was on line. Not one of them acknowledged that I was there. I waited for a few minutes and then went to get my drink somewhere else. It’s too bad. The staff here used to be awesome.

I’ve never felt more uneasy ordering my coffee and a pastry. The two ladies behind the counter(one in particular, with multicolored braids) was extremely rude and clearly impatient. She kept tapping her nails on the counter and giving me nasty looks because I asked a couple of questions. The bagel I ordered came lukewarm and when I asked to BUY one more serving of cream cheese she gave me the evil eye. They were both on the phone when I entered the place and it took them a while to hang up and serve the line of customers. These kind of people should not be in the hospitality business, or should be trained otherwise. I will never visit this place again. It was awful and gave me a real bad taste of New York and its people in general

The place is nice and cute. Good place to hang out and chill or grab a refreshment after a walking around on a hot summer day. The employees looked unhappy. They didn’t smile. They were monotone. They didn’t tell us our drinks were ready. It was just unsatisfactory. The drinks were good. I got the match latte cold. It was really good to taste the matcha but it wasn’t bitter. I love how they put extra matcha. Also got the chai latte. It was good. Wasn’t too sweet. Asked for a cold latte but it was still warm. They didn’t put enough ice in it. They put too much ice in the matcha latte so I didn’t really get enough of the drink. I felt ripped off.

I think the main reason this coffee bean gets a 3 is because of the location. You’re right across from my favorite place ever — the natural history museum! How could you not love it. There’s wifi, standard coffee bean fare, some seating if you wanted to get work done, and they clean the bathroom(there’s a password on it that you can get from the baristas). What’s to complain?

Excellent chai latte and hot chocolate in a laid back atmosphere. Super close to the national history museum. Thumbs up!

Great place to come after walking around for hours at the Museum of Natural History. I had the dark chocolate latte and brioche type pastry– both were very tasty. The latte was one of the best I’ve had to date, super rich and chocolaty. My friend got the nicoise salad and white chocolate latte and had fantastic things to say about both. Apparently this place is a chain, and I will definitely return here over starbucks. Prices are pretty much the same, but this place has better coffee and pastries and way cuter décor inside!

Good place to enjoy a cup of coffee and sit around for a couple of minutes. If visiting the Museum of Natural History, this is a great break for you. Unless you prefer your coffee in a dinosaur mug. The time I went there, I was on the museum for a good couple of hours so we determine to have a late breakfast here. Coffee, tea and grilled cheese. Good food, moderate prices.

my boyfriend and i popped in here saturday night ~20min before closing time. i had a vanilla latte and added some cinnamon on top, which was probably the best latte my boyfriend and i have had. thinking back on it, yes, the flavor was a bit strong, but hey, we both loved it. it was also just the two of us in the café, so the atmosphere was really cozy. the baristas were friendly and helpful, too. will definitely be back!

I like going to coffee shops to get some school work done and I generally stay away from Starbucks coffee shop as they are usually packed and you can never get a seat. I happened to walk by Coffee Bean the other day, and was pleasantly surprised that there was not only available seating, but even a whole other floor with even more seating. Wifi+coffee+seating is my ideal study environment, so I will most definitely be coming back.

Passed the place without knowing, so had to back-track. There was 1 guy in there taking orders and making the drinks. When I got there, so did 3 other people making an order. So in other words, I had to wait longer than expected for my 2 simple drinks. Guy was upbeat and friendly, but latte was average. With try New World a block up next.

Coffee was ok. Flavored was a bit strong. Staff was very friendly and upbeat. I actually had passed this place twice without realizing what it was. No signage out front — just etching on the windows with the name. Go two blocks down — New World has a better cup.

I absolutely love the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, but you can’t beat this particular location. I pop my head in several times a week when I’m walking my dog. I can’t bring my pup in the store and can’t tie her up outside, so they are always SO kind and take my order from the door. These guys make my day much brighter — not to mention it’s truly my favorite vanilla latte I’ve ever had.

Got dissed by two punks(a guy and a girl) behind the counter as I was entering the place… I don’t mind the ghetto sista’s that are usually there. They’re nice enough. But these two nasty little toads were ridiculously nasty and childish. Coffee Bean, You wanna pinch pennies by hiring gang members and complete total losers? Fine. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Delicious iced coffee for under $ 3? Sign me up. Loved the modern décor(and AC in this heat wave) inside the store as well. I’d come back.

I usually stop by here for some iced tea on the way to an evening meeting but tonight when I stopped by, they were out of all caffeinated iced teas. When I said I think I’ll just go– I got called a bitch by the meanie behind the counter as I was walking out. So since we are being honest here-your coffee is mediocre, you are always out of something I want to order(soy milk or this time iced tea ?) and your sandwiches are soggy. I hope the real bitch here gets her ass fired.

The reason I chose this specific location? Because the two ladies working behind the counter were awesome, that’s why. They seemed to know every single customer who walked in the door, and while I didn’t know what to order right away(NEVERDOTHATINNYC. ALWAYSKNOW), they had some great suggestions: Dark Chocolate Mocha. Foreva.

On a cold day sometimes you want to find a place to get a cup of coffee or tea, sit down and relax without getting jostled by other customers and maybe sneak in some charging time for your phone. As long as I’ve been hanging out in the Upper West Side, it’s been tough to find such a place that either wasn’t packed to the gills(I’m looking at you Starbucks) or a bit dingy. Recently, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf opened up a branch in the area and I was happy to see it relatively empty, wide open and welcoming! The place is bright, focused on a bright, clean look with wood and photographs of classic New York City locations(including Bryant Park) on the walls. There are some lounge chairs scattered about and regular wooden chairs with small tables that actually have coffee beans inside of them(it looks kind of neat actually). They carry quite a variety of drinks but on this night I went with a Chai Tea. The service was friendly and the tea was whipped up in no time(tea should never take a long time, but you’d be amazed how slow some places can be). I settled in, found a seat with a plug(there were a few) and charged up my iPhone as I enjoyed my tea. The drink was super hot but once it reached a drinkable temperature I found it floral, sweet and satisfying. No one bothered me the entire time I was there(at least twenty minutes) and I got to rest up(which is what I was hoping for!).
