Had the green tea latte which was pretty good. The store itself is really small and not the easiest place to find a seat unless you loiter for a bit.

Very small place so don’t expect to sit here and have your coffee. Cinnamon bun was dry but the coffee was delicious. Items are labeled in both Swedish and English but the staff doesn’t recognize the names in Swedish. That’s ok but what’s the point of having the labels then?

I was so excited to try their hot chocolate. my boyfriend told me it was good here. Sat down, had a sip of the hot chocolate, and it was scorching. Granted, it is called ‘hot’ chocolate, so I didn’t even think twice of having an issue with the temperature. Within 2 minutes I get severely nauseaos and I absolutely needed to go to the bathroom and vomit. I was certain it was because of the milk being expired. I asked the lady up front(short with glasses) if I could use it, and while she looked like she should probably say yes seeing as I’m pregnant, her manager next to her said that bathroom is for employees only. I told her I was pregnant and I need to use it asap. She said no. I was in tears, practically begging them; and I had to run outside and find the nearest public bathroom . It was really a horrible experience. I was shocked at how careless and malicious the service and customer respect was. Visiting from miami. I will never go back. Disgusted

As New York City seems to be slowing morphing into an opaque former shadow of itself, become boring beige in tone and feel, there is a ray of hope — and that is Fika! Robust coffee, interesting and wonderful morning treats and an environment(I have tried three locations thus far) each calming for conversation and thought, the operation is a welcomed addition to a city of pretenders, masquerading as ‘friendly Central Perks’ –of the former sit-com, Friends. Fika is the real deal. I am partial, though, to the one in my ‘hood’ as I make it at least a twice-a-week ritual to start my day with an inviting and yes, sensuous ceramic cup of java and a freshly baked(each offering gives the impression that it was individually crafted, on the spot and just for U) offering. FYI– August ‘Bun of the Month’ is a mouthwatering offering of Sesame & Pumpkin seeds, peppered throughout a vanilla infused croissant-like wrapper — superb! The Danish might have cornered the market on mid-century furnishings — but the Sweds have killed it on the morning call to coffee! But for all the handsome trappings; handsome serving wear, a window seat with a much appreciated footrest; a killer playlist wafting through the air — a place is NOTHING without a great and welcoming service staff. That’s where my location kills it. My hats off the management of Fika for staffing my Fika location with two morning individuals that aren’t only authentic brand ambassadors, but also generous of heart and gifted of service to always ensure a great start to the day. Oh, I almost forgot, those two individuals are Erin and Morgan. Brava to them and to Fika! A marriage definitely made in heaven.

Clean and austere shop with the AM smell of fresh baked goods. Sadly, a poorly made cappuccino(way too hot with too much milk) and no sleeves to fit a too hot to carry drink(sleeves just for regular sized coffee cups). When I mentioned the poor quality of the drink to the counter lady she smiled and said ‘we will just have to do better next time.‘ A low bar to improve upon.

Nice deserts A/C keeps it like an ice cube so unfortunately not a place to stay and eat in. Also limited if your a vegetarian in fact when I asked about the toasted sandwiches if there was a vegetarian option the staff were a little dismissive.

I ordered their iced Americano and Bailey chocolate today. They only filled the cup a quarter with milk and than handed it to me. I ended up putting more milk and sweetener myself. Both were delicious and the service is good. I have to give this place 3 stars because they didn’t thoroughly explain that they gave me an Americano instead iced macchiato. big difference but the drink still was good :)

The most delicious & beautiful meringue I’ve ever eaten. A lovely, clean flavor with the perfect amount of crunch. It had no «wet chicken feather» taste, as meringues often have.

Excellent iced coffee. Also, the cardamom buns are AMAZING. I will definitely be back for those!

They do a decent lunch combo of ½ sandwich and soup. You get the whole sandwich if you order grilled cheese, which is a less healthy but tastier option. The wraps always taste like something I can make at home, and the soups are always just a tad too watered down. But everything has been decent. I am a huge fan of their sale breads — they mark all loaves down 50% the next day. These breads are truly artisan in my opinion. Pastries are good. I am a big fan of the cardamom bun and the mudslide cookie.

My new favorite coffee. Mind you, I only tried one coffee and nothing else. But that’s what Unilocal is great for: the I-tried-it-once review.

So yummy! I really like how they specifically ask you what kind of milk(almond, soy, etc) you’d like in your coffee. It’s personal and delicious, not to mention speedy and not overpriced!

When ever I would buy a bag of their brew coffee beans/grounds they would always offer me a free cup of coffee. Unfortunately corporate offices have discontinued doing that service. It’s a shame. What does a simple cup of black coffee cost them? 50 cents? 75 cents? It was such a nice gesture that they would do. What a shame it’s no longer being offered. Especially since every time I stop by in the city, I buy about 3 bags. It’s really fantastic coffee. If anyone from corporate reads this, please reconsider reinstating the free cup of coffee again. It doesn’t cost you anything except wonderful costumer service.

The Salted Caramel Chocolate Truffles are the best! Great coffee– good coffee. Clean and nice environment– perfect for a fika! Very nice staff– warm service. Not too noisy or messy, very comfortable for chilling.

2.5 stars Though this place screams adorable, clean, and efficient I find that their coffee and food has a lot to be desired. I’ve tried quite a few of their pastries from croissants to the more random chocolate goodies and they always taste a bit dry or just… Not satisfying. The coffee is weak and the espresso is over roasted. Service is really nice though and the wall of gifts and dry packaged goods are still fun to peruse.

Any idea how friendly the staff is or how good the food is or what the quality of the coffee is at this(and every other) FIKA in Manhattan? THEBEST. The best! FIKA is a gem that stands out in the world of New York coffee shops. Their food offerings are great(try the vanilla bun), the coffee is always perfect(hot and cold), the chocolate is very good and the packaging of the dry goods and gift items is unique. Worth noting the staff that opened the store originally last year was top notch. FIKA is a great addition to the Upper West Side.

I went to this coffee shop only two times and I do NOT think that I will go back there again in the future: — The first time it was OK, probably a bit pricy, but I was happy with my coffee though. — The second time I had a very BAD experience. i went there with the Idea of having a coffee and doing some work for a while. I asked for a Mocha, which I think was not listed on the board. The Mocha was OK, probably a bit too chocolatey, but I ended up paying around $ 7 which is RIDICULOUS. I’ve NEVER paid that much for a Mocha. I found a seat and I started doing some work on my laptop. Suddenly, despite it being cold outside, the AC went on right behind me and it got uncomfortably cold inside — at least it was cold for me. I also found it to be a little noisy because of the music, which was not the kind of relaxing music that I would expect in a coffee shop. It is a shame because the first time I went there I thought I had found a nice cozy coffee shop. I guess it depends what you are looking for, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a place to relax or get some work done. The wifi works good though.

What you should know: $ 6 for a mediocre(and tiny) croissant & small coffee. Coffee was good. Surly and unhelpful chap behind the counter, who clearly had other things on his mind than assisting this customer by answering a question about coffee sizes and such.(10÷10÷14, 7:30 a.m., if you’re reading this, Madame Director of Strategy and Operations) Will I return? Maybe some day, but without enthusiasm and with a pre-disposition of general negativity.

Cute little coffee shop in UWS, in a stretch where there isn’t too much going on. They open really early on weekdays(well, 7am), which is nice. You can get coffee, pastries, and even healthy foods — I opted for the oatmeal with chia and pumpkins seeds and cranberries. It was delish and so filling I only ate half. Will definitely stop in again when I’m in the area.
