Burger could be bigger, but OK.

(belated review, visited mid-​March 2016)
Go to the counter, place your order, sit down to wait, enjoy some great food. That easy.
Food:
We visited with a Groupon for 2 burgers, an order of fries, and 2 cupcakes. Another in our party ordered a burger. Between us, we had a cheeseburger, portobello mushroom burger, and veggie burger. The burger was great, the portobello was great, the veggie burger… had a good flavor, but needed a better binding agent. Next time, I’d get the portobello instead.
Fries were excellent. Tasted like fresh cut fries. More than enough for two of us to share.
Cupcakes were good. Cake pretty average, but the butter cream frosting was perfect.
Service:
Wow. I have never felt more for a cashier in my life. The joint was way understaffed for the lunch rush on a Sunday. She was clearly overextended and doing the best she could. Yet, customers who got there before us were SO rude! I couldn’t believe some of the behavior I saw. For example, one person was offended that, when his order was up, the cashier continued helping the person she was in the middle of a conversation with (taking their order/​ringing them up) instead of handing him his order. He knew it was his food, the bag was literally 2′ from him, yet he stood there and expected her to drop everything and give it to him immediately. And, when she didn’t, he made a scene, and slammed the water bottle he had made a big deal over getting into the garbage can (still mostly, if not all the way, full).
Anyways, she was kind and friendly to us (duh, because we weren’t royal jerks to her!). We sat down at a table (after ordering) to eat our burgers & fries there — she brought them over to us as soon as they were ready & asked if she could get us anything else. Then, after our lunch, she got us our cupcakes packaged to go. So, I have 0 complaints about the service — just think the manager should make sure this place is better staffed.

I used to love this place. I brought my teams here before and after projects because it was near the studios but this last meal was less than mediocre. I think they changed management or chefs. They did not have the first 3 things I asked for including the burger and Diet Coke, and than when I got my meal it was uncooked and seemed as if they literally put the ingredients on a bun and in a microwave (and not for long enough). The fries and cupcakes were still good. Maybe they should just make that the name.

I wish I could give this place a better rating, but there were a couple of key factors that made us never want to come back here.
First off, their burgers had pretty good flavor and their fries were great. The main reason I can’t give this place a good review was that throughout our entire meal we had to witness and listen to the boss shout at and generally demean his employees. It was an incredibly unprofessional display and I would be astonished if he could even hold on to employees for more than a month. No employer should treat his people that way.
There are better burgers and WAY better cupcakes in NY. Go somewhere else for your culinary fix.

This place should have a lot higher average rating! 3 stars don’t do it justice!
The burger is great and love the crispy chicken burger, also the service is fantastic they forgot one item on my last order and tonight the went over and above to make that right, and their deliver is super fast! Highly recommend this spot!

I love the burgers.
I love the cupcakes.
The fresh lemonade is wonderful.
I just wish the service wasn’t absolutely horrible. I’ve been here twice and have had SLOW service both times. They take forever to seat you, take your order, bring your drinks everything. Absent minded waitresses will be the end of this spot which otherwise has great potential.

I have a real love hate relationship with Burgers & Cupcakes. On one hand I find their burgers to be quite delicious. On the other hand, the service is ABSOLUTELY horrible to the point I question if I should ever frequent this place again.
The setup is very strange as you walk in & seat yourself. No one greets you or even acknowledges that you’ve walked into the restaurant. Be prepared to wait over an hour for drinks, food, or anything that deals with a waitress actually coming to your table. The last time I visited this place (4÷1÷16) several parties left after waiting over 30 minutes for a waitress to just come over and take their drink order. Not to mention one of the waitresses (a Spanish female) was definitely picking and choosing who she wanted to serve aka who she thought would give her a bigger tip. She must have a thing against couples because she didn’t serve any of us, instead other waitresses had to pick up her slack after seeing how irate the customers were becoming.
Like I mentioned, the burgers are actually quite good. The only con I will say is they are quite small for $ 7. For a hungry grown man, it honestly may not fill you up. They used to have a ‘Jumbo’ special that offered a bigger burger for $ 9, but I guess they got rid of it. The $ 4 fries are decent and the proportions can be shared between two people. The cupcakes are baked on site so they are enjoyable as well.
Overall, this place has potential. It’s in a great location with great foot traffic. The waitress staff will be the downfall of this place if they don’t start valuing their customers and stop taking hours to give people their drinks and food. Seriously, the restaurant is that big where it should take that long especially when you can see right back into the kitchen. Do better.
Giving this place two stars instead of one because if I did work in the area I would definitely order from here and pick it up myself as I would assume the delivery service is probably as poor as the waiting staff.

I would give this place 3 stars for food and –2 stars for service. The services is inexcusably slow and staff are rude. Overall just a really unpleasant experience. I don’t envision this place being around for much longer unless management has a full attitude and operational overhaul.

Was disappointed for a number of reasons, but will be brief:
— service was quite slow
— lots of tension between staff and customers
— while we didn’t get into any direct conflicts, oversaw issues with staff treating customers poorly, conflicts over the fact that apparently there credit card machine was down but they didn’t let people know until after they were ready to pay, and staff venting about customers to other customers
— food was just ok, on burger and cupcake front
— a number of groups walked in, sat down, and were ignored long enough to the point they left
This place is an interesting concept, and has some potential, but it feels like one of those restaurant turnaround show guys would need to come in and get things going smoothly.

Came here for a Groupon and got two burgers with one topping, one order of fries, and two cupcakes.
–Did not take credit card that day. It’s OK for me since I only had to pay tax of $ 3.04. I overheard some other guy asking where there was a nearby ATM. But that’s something to be fixed ASAP because most people wouldn’t bother going to an ATM and then coming back, when they can find another place to grab lunch in the area.
–Food was slow: I placed my order at noon on the dot. I felt for lunch hour they would have more workers and could somehow produce fries/​medium rare burgers with a slice of cheese somewhat quicker. It took about 20 minutes. Which isn’t that long per se, but to throw frozen fries in the fryer and a patty on the grill? To be fair the patties were on the thicker/​rounder side, so maybe they did the whole slow and steady cooking. It was a good solid burger though. Not a wimpy, thin patty. The bun was more like a roll, and it has no sesame seeds. Came with lettuce/​tomato/​red onions. My husband would love the buns here, because he normally has to pick the seeds off. Definitely has a feel of a gourmet burger. Small, fits in your hand nicely, but thick and dense.
To me it seemed like the woman taking orders was the one doing the cooking too? And yet there were a ton of workers milling around, maybe delivery guys??, in and out through the back, from the side office. Just a weird operation. Didn’t have a nice sit down vibe, although I saw a few tables near the window having their orders taken. Plenty of tables/​seating, but not too sure it ever gets super crowded here.
–Fries were interesting. I was always left with a sweet aftertaste, even though I got the regular ones versus sweet potato. They were hearty and you got a nice potato bite/​mouth feel out of every piece, but I didn’t care for them.
–Cupcakes — dense and nothing special about them. I like them lighter and fluffy. The chocolate one in particular seemed so dense and heavy, it had the texture of a muffin… with frosting. Weird. Were not as big as Sprinkles cupcakes, but were not tiny either. Perfect, medium sized, and around $ 2.95. They also had other desserts, like breads and marble cake on display.
3 stars for the burger itself, but nothing else is appealing enough to come back.

I actually found this place through groupon. This place was not how i expected to be, it looks more like a deli place. However, their burgers looks pretty appetizing even if we couldnt hold the burger together. For some reason, eating this burger was pretty messy.
Their cupcakes were small and they taste like any other regular cupcakes, nothing amazing. They had a few unique flavors like meringue but that was it. Will I come back? probably not.
If you do order the groupon from this place, I recommend the sweet potato fries and the lemon grilled chicken burger.

This is a review for the crispy chicken sandwich and the cupcakes.
1^st encounter: got the cupcake and brownie square to go. Cupcake icing was sweet but not guilt-​triggering. The brownie was so fudgy and delicious I’m about to drool while writing this before turn in for the day.
2^nd encounter: I finally dropped in for lunch after having walked past it so many times! It was the day after the giant blizzard and maybe it was because their power was out but the whole place was as cold as it was outside — terrible dining environment! To exacerbate the situation, the place doesn’t offer any hot drinks. Everything was either room temperature or iced.
However, the food more than made up for it. The crispy chicken sandwich came with 2 thinly sliced, deep fried chicken breasts, onions, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. I LOVED how peppery the chicken breasts were! They were steaming hot when I bit into them which was just what I needed seeing that it was SO COLD inside!
Definitely looking forward to my next meal there!

Their veggie burgers are always the best! Homemade and REAL veggies! I suggest topping it with Swiss and avocado.
As for cupcakes, they can sometimes be dry depending on the variety. However, I had the Lemon Blueberry Poppyseed the other day and it was AMAZING. Def suggest it!

Ok, once you figure out how to order (we waited at our table for 10 minutes, watched 2 people walk in and up to the cashier to order, then we followed suit), the food here is EXCELLENT.
Now, I read all the awful reviews and wasn’t so sure. I had also come here once before for carryout, and wasn’t impressed.
But I gave this place a second chance, and was blown away.
My date and I ordered 1 burger each. I got the fried chicken with Pepper jack and he got the Cajun chicken with bleu cheese. The bleu cheese was dripping and gooey and fantastic. I was envious.
They were out of fries, so she offered onion rings at the same price. Yes! They were more like onion straws, but SO crispy and delicately battered I could cry.
Service here is honestly so-​so, but for the price, it’s worth it. We also tried 2 cupcakes — the marble and the carrot-​cake. Both seemed fresh and were tasty.
There’s also lots of seating and a clean bathroom, so I give this place 5 stars.

This was awful and barely edible.
So the bread was greasy and smelled eggy, the burger meet smelled really bad too and the tomatoes and vegetables were dead in my sandwich like they were cut a week ago and put on my great disgusting burger.
I ordered sweet fried potatoes which were burn and since they were sweet they were black burned and too soft at the same time.
This was a BIG disappointment which cost me 14 $

I ordered a burger, rate of course, with grilled onions, avocado, and blue cheese. The bun was toasted to perfection. The burger was too big and juicy to pick up so I ate it with a fork and every mouthful was delicious. I ordered the sweet potato fries but wasn’t a fan. I added salt but still they were flavorless. I came in really excited about the cupcakes but left quite disappointed. They were dry and not worth the extra calories. Next time I will stick to the burger and skip everything else.

There I was ten blocks away and decided why not its Friday lets have A cupcake.
Ten mins later two cupcakes and three games of chess (3 lost games)… I was good at that game back in the day.
My friend and I split the carrot cake and red velvet cupcake. You know me… I always asks, what’s your hottest seller? The women said «red velvet», but to be really really honest, the batter was to dark of chocolate for my liking.
OK, hold on, for those of you who DON’T KNOW that red velvet cupcake is made off a chocolate base cake and then LOTS of food dye. OK you get it. Anyways it didn’t taste like red velvet and since they are made in the back MAYBE I got a bad one, but I can name (sunshine sweet bakery in LES) that has a GREAT red velvet cake, oh my.
As for the carrot cake one, this one was ON point.
I defiantly suggest you guys go in for the burgers. Everyone was eating them and they looked soooo good. Ahhh :/​

This place is the worst!!!
The owner, Michell, is so rude that I’ll never ever go to this place or recommend it to anyone.
I went in for lunch and as I walked in he was in the middle of berating his staff as they were on their hands and knees scrubbing the floor and walks. Odd but true.
As I handed the cashier the items that I wanted to buy, he sternly says, «A GUY don’t touch the glass!»
I apologize then reach for another item that I want to purchase then I hand to the cashier & lightly touched to glass partition separating the cash register from the customers. This time he yells at me like he was yelling at his employees.
I respond, «I care if you are the owner or the President, refer to me by my name or sir not GUY or Chief or Bro! Don’t assume that you can take liberties with me. We are not friends!»
«Furthermore, show your employees some respect and don’t be a tyrant!»
Then he responds I don’t give a damn.
That’s when I told him well I guess that you don’t mind sharing that sentiment with Social Media so smile for the camera. **click-​smile for the camera**
He actually waved for the camera as he says «I don’t give a damn and get outta my shop.»
He clearly doesn’t give a damn about his customers, service and most likely not even his food.

Was heading to the sandwich shop next door when I seen a chalkboard sign outside that said «grilled Cajun chicken sandwich and fries $ 9». I immediately changed my mind and decided to go for it.
Walked in and proceeded straight to the back to order. I ordered the special bc I was reassured that it wasn’t too spicy. Then I stepped in front of the cup cake display and was trying to make a selection. Went with the pb cupcake, vanilla and chocolate marble cupcake topped with chocolate and pb. I also ordered the homemade lemonade.
I loved it all lol. The grilled Cajun chicken sandwich was perfectly seasoned and had Cajun mayo which added a little kick to the sandwich. The fries were perfectly crispy. The homemade lemonade had mint leaves and a raspberry omg… delicious. The mint and raspberry gave it a perfect twist to a traditional drink. The pb cupcake was delicious, soft marble cake with melt pb. Definitely enjoyed every bite of my meal. Inner fat girl satisfied lol.

I only ate half a sandwich next door — I can have a cupcake!
Pretty good — I had a Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing topped with Coconut, the carrot cake was soft and moist loaded with carrots, the icing was a rich buttercream, but not overly sweet, the coconut topping was sweeter than everything else and it made the cupcake!
Staff is happy and friendly!

Großartige Mischung. Erst Burger zum selbst zusammenstellen, auch veggie Optionen, mit Chili Cheese Fries essen, …also ganz was ausgeglichenes und gesundes… Dann das ganze mit einem Cupcake abrunden in dem eine ganze Tafel Schoki versteckt zu sein scheint.
Ist eher eine Kantine als ein Restaurant, also nicht übermäßig gemütlich. Das macht aber das tolle Essen und die entspannte Atmosphäre wieder wett.
