This restaurant is underrated! The food is excellent and the service wonderful! We took our 17 month twin old boys there and made a terrible mess(not to mention that the boys ran around like lunatics) the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.

I lived 5 years in Hell’s Kitchen and this is my favorite restaurant. Masamum curry and the Rama dish are my favorites. Great beers, really good happy hour deals, and superb desserts. We will be back regularly!

Please expect a hateful message if you plan on ordering from this restaurant. I left a 10% tip for a noodle soup and the food arrived with $ 1 stapled to the receipt and a hateful FU. I obviously did not eat it, because I’m pretty sure they pissed in it as well. Great job, Aura.

Great, fast, cheap. Is it the best Thai in the world? No. But if you are on a tight lunch hour… as a I was… this is the place for you! The quality to price ratio is just right. Service is fast and friendly. What’s not to love? One thing. What is with having two names? Is it Aura or is it «Zoob Zib». It’s all about branding and trying to sell two brands at the same time is silly and confusing!

Every neighborhood has a Thai Restaurant but they don’t have Aura. Aura goes the extra mile. For me, it’s their Pah Lo eggs. I was told they were now off the menu. But somehow the person who took my order found some for me and included them with her compliments. And, that is why Aura is the best. It’s always the people that make a place special. I hope that Aura will bring back the Pah lo egg but their food is so good and their staff is so terrific that it will always be my «go to» thai restaurant.

I really liked this spot. A random selectión by a co worker. for lunch after the a show at the javits. I really loved the chicken Pad kee mao(Drukenman noodle) very tasty. Every bite had a unique taste. The amount of spiciness was just right not to hot, not to little amd very flavorful. They also have a really good thai iced tea.

This review is only based off of ordering on Seamless several times. I have ordered the massaman curry and it has been a solid choice every time. Big chunks of creamy avocado, curry has a good and flavorful spice without being too hot. I ordered Tom Yum soup once and wasn’t impressed, so I went back to ordering massaman and continue to love it. Delivery is FAST. Seamless will say 30 – 45 minutes, for example, and it usually arrives at my place in about 15 minutes. Granted, it’s around the corner from where I live, but it’s certainly a reason I keep ordering from them time and time again. Solid choice out of the many, many options along 9th Avenue.

Zoob Zib(Aura) is a good Thai spot in midtown that hasn’t quite settled on a name change. They have a great lunch special and even sit down service is doable because they are speedy. I like the green curry with tofu, and that you can order it with somen noodles instead of rice: generous portion, good spice, and a decent amount of veggies. Solid. The chicken soup is also good: sliced chicken breast, cilantro, bean sprouts, hard cooked egg, wontons, egg noodles, and baby bok choy in a light, five spice inflected broth. The lunch special comes with an iceberg lettuce salad with peanut sauce and a vegetable wonton. For $ 3 more, you can get a beer. But if I did that during the work week, I probably wouldn’t want to return to the office.

So far, one of the better Thai spots for lunch in the 9th Ave area. Service is very fast, which is a definite must for all the office lunch runners. Our orders were taken within minutes of sitting and the food came out with no hesitation. We ordered lunch specials, PEDTOONNOODLESOUP and YENTAOFONOODLESOUP, which came with a salad and dumpling. The soups were delicious with just the right amount of meat and flavor. The seafood was generous and the duck was tasty. No complaints for this great lunch spot!

I was in the mood for a whole fried fish that cost around $ 20. Deciding on a healthier choice, I ended up getting a steamed fish dish(Pad Gra Prow) which cost $ 17. The spices were spot on, but I literally got 4 tiny pieces of fish in the whole dish! To help you understand how small it was, «Imagine 1 chicken nugget cut into 4 pieces». How can you charge $ 17 for 4 tiny pieces of fish when you can get a whole fish for $ 3 more? You have good food, but you are literally ripping us off. Unless this matter is resolved — never again.

Clarification: Aura and Zoob Zib were once two separate restaurants that shared the same entrance, seating area, food menu, and set of waiters. However due to what I’m assuming was a financial decision, they’ve decided to join forces to become one store front. But, it gets a little bit more confusing because they are on and as Aura Thai but their storefront only says Zoob Zib. I hope this resolves some of the issues for the confused locals. All in all, Aura is a 3.5 star for me. It’s simply standard Thai food. Other than their $ 13 lunch special with $ 3 drink(alcoholic beverages included) add-on deal, it’s nothing extraordinary unlike some of the Hell’s Kitchen Thai options. It’s not quite there in terms of authenticity and taste. The restaurant décor and space layout is seemingly cooler than that of its competitors with its rustic wooden tables, stools, and floor to ceiling windows that open up as partial outdoor seating during the warmer months. They also have a neat bar area where many patrons come just for their weekday happy hour from 5−8PM. Their happy hour drink menu consists of everything from mojitos, margaritas, sangria, and wine. I’ve had their Pad See Ew, Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, Roasted Duck & Rice, Duck rolls, and Pineapple Fried Rice. Everything is good, but again, nothing in their menu will blow your socks off. I am iffy about their Drunken noodles and probably will opt for either their Pad See Ew or Pad Thai if I’m craving a stir fry noodle entrée. And here’s why– the first time I ordered their Drunken noodles, it was served in a brown soy sauce base and was extremely spicy. I liked it so much that I ordered it a couple of weeks later through Seamless. However, the second time around, it was served in a bland yellow/orange sauce with overcooked rice noodles. Was it just a one-time mistake or is it a lack of consistency in their menu? I will never know.

The new name of Aura Thai is Zoob Zib so don’t get confused when you walk in. Our maiden Zoob Zib voyage was last night before seeing Fleetwood Mac at The Garden. We were really pleased! For an appetizer, we shared the duck rolls — shredded duck and cucumbers rolled in a tortilla served with the right amount of hoisin. Enough for three people to share or two fat people(us). For an entrée, I got one of their large pork noodle soups. I opted for the Z2 spicy broth but this broth was either the wrong one or not at all spicy. The soup was good and served hot temperature-wise, which I appreciated. The pork and pork-balls in the soup were kind of bland. I added some Sriracha, which gave it the much needed kick and flavor. Zoob Zib(née Aura) also offers happy hour drinks at the tables until 8pm, so a bottle of Sapporo was only $ 3 and the wine was only $ 6. They also have a some bar seats to wait at, or just to grab a cocktail if you’re in the neighborhood. The service was attentive. They brought us more napkins after the apps and refilled our water promptly. Sounds like it should be standard, and it should! but it’s not at Thai places sometimes. My bf got what I really wanted — Korean style beef over glass noodles. Wow — was that tasty. I’m definitely getting that next time and there will certainly be a next time. I was peeping the food at other tables and everything looked delicious. I do recommend this spot, it’s worth the two avenue walk from 34th Street.

A solid lunch option for this neighborhood. I order take out here at least once a week and have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend the Red Curry w/tofu lunch special. If you’re feeling extravagant, add broccoli for a dollar extra. Be careful, those peppers are no joke.

Really enjoyed this place. We make Thai food at home from scratch so we’re pretty particular. It wasn’t the most amazing Thai I ever had but it was quite good and I’ll go back. I had the Lemongrass Chicken that came with a side of Papaya Salad. It was really tasty and filling. My boyfriend had the Green Curry with Chicken and it was really good. And a large portion. The prices are really reasonable, they have a nice list of beers(we had Changi and Beerlao) that are half off during happy hour. The atmosphere is perfect for the nice weather because they have very big open windows in the front of the place. Great for people watching. The staff was friendly and attentive.
