Never order here again. They went out of baby ribs and offered me pull pork instead, but they still charged 5 $ extra for the ribs! $ 28, it’s way too expensive for the small portion. For the food, the pull pork tasted like pre-cooked and the bbq sauce also tasted awful. The coleslaw wasn’t fresh either! Overall, it’s very disappointing.

RIPOFF– with tip I ended up paying $ 17 for a sandwich that was pure fat. There was at least a 4 – 1 ratio of fat to meat on my bbq sandwich that I paid way too much for. DONOT eat here.

It took almost 2 hours to get my food delivered, and then they left out half of my order. Everything was really greasy and not that tasty. Very displeased, wouldn’t recommend.

W O R S T E V E R… 1 star is still WAY too much! First off BBQ Pit is actually«Kool Bloo», which isn’t even a restaurant but more a takeout hole-in-wall joint. QUALITY: 0.5(1 – 10) Less than edible. PRICE: Outrageously overpriced!!! I can’t believe I’m going to actually write this but any Mac D’s is 1,000% better! Bun — Stale Meet — Very dry(so far from medium), very chewy and«crunchy»(really don’t want to know why) Extras: Almost non-existent, even though ordered and paid for. Actions: On my second bite I spat it out as it was so disgusting.(I was starving, hence why the second bite.) Conclusion: RIPOFF…

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a good experience with BBQ Pit/Kool Bloo. The food is late or cold or gross or they forgot something. And they are so rude and so hateful on the phone. The only redeeming quality is that the restaurant is open late and will deliver 24 hours per day.(note that delivery will take in excess of 45 minutes, despite the fact that they advertise their delivery times at 10 – 25 minutes on seamless web. i don’t think that they’ve ever come close to 10 – 25 minutes.) I think very little of this establishment and their food. I would advise going anywhere else, unless you are starving for something very specific, they have it and it’s like 3am in the morning.

Ordered delivery online. Took nearly one hour for it to arrive. Paid $ 30 for an order of waffle fries, shrimp basket and crab cakes. First of the waffle fries came in a tiny baggy. It was stale and tasted like the ones I can make myself from those frozen fries. The shrimp was all batter and very little shrimp. Actual shrimp was prob less than one inch long. The most disappointing order was the crab cakes. Paying $ 10 for 2 crabcakes I expected it to be tasty and filled with all crab. Instead I got breading and tiny pieces of crab. Tasted almost like Thanksgiving stuffing. Waste of my money and time. Don’t order from this place!

I write this as I throw away the last of what will be forever commemorated as the worst bbq I’ve ever been so unfortunate to have put inside my mouth. I don’t even know where to begin. Okay, focus, first gripe: price. Fortunately, I was ordering off of seamless on the company tab, but I don’t know how they stay in business with these prices. $ 30 for ribs… really? Second gripe: mac & cheese. DISGUSTING!!! MYSEVEN-YEAR-OLDCOUSINMAKESFARSUPERIORMAC&CHEESEWITHEASYMAC!!! WHATTHE f*** ISTHIS?!! Watery cheese people! 1) Mac & cheese should be baked 2) the cheese should not be saucy. Its not mac with cheese sauce. Repulsive! Third gripe: «BBQ» — this is worse than garden variety. Dairy queen has far better pulled pork sandwiches than this(and yes, sadly I’ve tried them. I’m a pork fiend). This is packaged stuff that you get in the refrigerator isle at the grocery store. HOWDARETHEYEVENTRY! So, as I try to rinse the putrid taste of their gross food from my mouth(hey, I was starving so I ate it), I just want to warn everyone, BEAFRAID. Methinks NOT! P. S. the seasoned fries were pretty good, but still be afraid.

First off — this place is actually Kool Blue, just operating under a different name. Same address, kitchen, employees, everything. A normal restaurant operating under the guise of a BBQ joint is the first tip off that this place sucks. That said — I don’t know how this place can pass for BBQ. If one were to sample BBQ from every restaurant in Manhattan, and did not consider price and only went by taste and flavor, this place would be towards the bottom of the pack. But when you throw price into the mix, and realize this place charges MORE then the top BBQ places in the city(Daisy May’s, Blue Smoke, even the lower tier places like Dallas BBQ) it becomes clear this is one of the worst BBQ place in Manhattan. The prices are a joke: $ 4 for a plain old frozen(Not fresh!) corn dog ? $ 10+ for 10 average tasting wings ? $ 31 + for a full rack of ribs? This place is beyond a rip off. Everything about this place screams«mediocre», «bland», and«unauthentic». Both the baby-back pork and beef ribs are meager and opt towards the less meaty side. They use low quality meat here with not much flesh on the bone to being with. The meat that is there is nowhere near fall of the bone tender and lacks any real smokyess or flavor(other then the overly sweet BBQ sauce they use to drown the ribs in). The word chewy comes to mind when describing these ribs and I doubt they saw a second of a real smoker, grill, or BBQ cooker. These things were cooked 100% in a plain old oven. There is nothing special or unique about this place at all and I consider this place a huge rip off given the price. For the price of a quarter rack of ribs here, you can get a half rack at Daisy Mays. For the price of a half rack here, you can get a fill rack from Blue Smoke. Cannot vouch for the burgers, but if they are anywhere near the quality of the rest of the food, they suck. Why anyone would spend their own money here(I used my expense account ftw) is beyond me. This is a one(or zero) star restaurant charging 5 star prices. Go to Daisy Mays or Blue Smoke if you can, Dallas BBQ if you are on the east side and need delivery, or Texas BBQ if you must. Anywhere but here.

BAD! Isn’t it already a little sketchy that this place has the same exact address as Kool Bloo? Why say its two separate restaurants when it’s really only one? Got delivery the other day, the only thing this place has is speed. They really deliver within 20 – 30 minutes. Waffle Fries $ 4.95: medium portion. Completely STALE dry and chewy like cardboard masked with a lot of chili powder. Sweet Potato Fries $ 4.95: medium portion. Totally soggy and wet, not a bit of crispyness, and some were even undercooked and hard. Corn on the Cob $ 2.95: small burnt corn, you can’t really mess this up. tasted ok. Grilled Salmon Sandwich $ 13.95: Plain unseasoned UNDERCOOKED large piece of salmon on a soggy bun. No lettuce, nothing. Had to recook this salmon ourselves as it was mushy and translucent on the inside! Veggie Burger Wrap with Cheddar Cheese and Buffalo Sauce $ 13.95: cold chewy wrap with one veggie burger patty from the frozen section folded up inside, soggy mixed greens, really chewy rubber like shredded cheese. cheddar, really? $ 40 not including tip or tax. Way overpriced and way unedible food! How could every single thing we ordered be so bad?!

my friend and I opted for the $ 16.99 combo special which included –bbq ribs(very good, medium portion) –steak(also tender, small portion) –shrimp(about 4 shrimps) –corn bread(a very large square chunk) –baked Idaho potatoes(comes w/tartar sauce/butter, & served hot!) was recommended to this place by a woman I just struck up a random conversation with. She said it’s good for Southern food and I love Southern food! I want some baked beans next time though! It’s good and close to satisfy a craving, but not the best. I’m saad though… I left my leftovers with my steak and ribs at church. Should’ve finished it at the restaurant! =/ Directions: M15 towards South Ferry, get off at 9th/St. Marks and it’s right across the street To return, turn left upon exiting BBQs, cross the street and M15 bus stop will be on the left. Great place to go to browse around the cutest Japanese area, St. Marks– I’ll take the bus to Taisho next time!

Comfort food and BBQ go hand in hand here and the food proved to be a decent choice for delivery. The Double Cheeseburger lunch special was hearty and tasty but almost too large to finish. During other delivery experiences, I’ve found their Pulled BBQ Sandwich and Mac and Cheese is a fabulous combination. Thankfully the prices don’t cut too deeply into the funds, the delivery is quick, and their service has been good so far. I have no complaints, but then again I have yet to dine here.
