I see this place everyday because I go to school in the area and I decided to try it out because I was starving. I ordered the lamb kebab platter which came out to about ($ 15) Let me start by saying that it was the worst rice I’ve ever had. It was completely bland and had absolutely no flavor. The lamb kebab was very spicy and tasted like pure curry. Not what I was expecting from a BBQ place at all. I didn’t even eat my food because I was so disappointed. DEFINITELY not worth the price whatsoever. The only upside was that the person that helped me was very nice and friendly.

My friends and I usually come for lunch and I really like their sweet and tangy wings, which come with waffle fries, blue cheese or ranch, and a drink. I’m somewhat suspicious about the quality of the food, but it seemed to get better lately. About a year ago I got a Kofta burger, which had a greenish tint and and an off taste. I definitely did not feel good after and I avoided this place like the plague. However, my friends convinced me to give it another shot. I’ve been coming here for lunch ever since. Plus, there’s usually space for a group to sit and enjoy their lunch.

Came here for lunch and they are currently promoting 4 lunch specials.
I ordered the 8 pieces honey BBQ chicken with fries and soda and my friend ordered the same combo except he got it with the medium hot sauce. Got everything for less than $ 20 and didn’t have to wait a long time. My honey BBQ had a spicy scent to it that immediately hit me in the nose the moment it was placed down. It was really good. My friend was telling me how his chicken weren’t really spicy.
The atmosphere at the restaurant is really chill and great for hanging out and chilling.

Ordered three burgers and was charged $ 33. Looked up and the wall menu clearly says $ 8 per burger. The mathematically challenged moron that works behind the cashier register kept telling me that «the machine doesn’t lie» and that wasn’t anything he could do about it. Perplexing to say the least. The cook (moron number two) came out of the kitchen and was also amazed at how stupid moron number one was but also stated he couldn’t do anything about it either. I refused to pay and monies were refunded to my credit card (NOT)Three days later I’m still waiting on my refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

It’s not going to make it. Entrees are advertised online, in the printed menu, and on the store menu board as being accompanied by masala fries. They are not because the restaurant has stopped carrying them. Unfortunately, no potato chips or anything else has been added in their place. You order the burger and masala chips entrée and you’ll get a burger plain while paying the price shown for a burger and chips. Do they not see this as wrong? Strike two was the filth on the table. There was food everywhere despite the fact that there was no activity in the store. I counted four employees. Could not one of them have wiped off the tables? I took a few napkins and did it myself because it was the only table that could hold three people. The napkin had a black dust-​like film on it after I was done. what was that? Finally, Matt’s BBQ receipt prints out as «matt and meara.» This place is an enigma. Good luck.

My friend mentioned this place had a good Asian chicken salad and I thought, «why not, let me get some veggies into my system.» I go to school at Baruch and this place has just never looked appetizing but anyway —
Got food poisoning/​a stomach virus and couldn’t leave the house for the next 3 days. Didn’t know if I’d have to vomit or do number 2 so I’d settle for having the garbage next to me while on the potty.
Just go to the Thai place next door. Don’t do this to yourself.

There was a torrential downpour today while I was at work. Usually I just Seamless up a pickup and enjoy the lunch time walk to explore new food in the area but alas the rain thwarted my plan. I ordered the Chicken Tikka rice bowl ($ 9) and a potato samosa ($ 1.50).
I asked for the secret/​house sauce for the Chicken Tikka bowl and it was pretty much mayo. Oddly, I really liked it. Haha. So half the bowl was chicken tikka masala and the other half was shredded lettuce over rice. The rice, masala, lettuce, mayo (?) sauce actually went really well together in a stoner-​sort of way. The potato samosa was REALLY good (although the brochure has it as $ 1 and Seamless has it at $ 1.50-$ 2), I’ll def try this again for delivery. We’ll see…

I can see why this place doesn’t have great reviews… We were hungry and wandering around, and the boys chose Matt’s simply because of its name. I had the chipotle BBQ chicken wrap and waffle fries.
It was… Okay, I guess. The chicken was cooked well and the sauce was good, but not really spicy at all, and the wrap itself was a bit dry for my taste. The fries were fries. Not great, but not terrible.
For the price and the lackluster sauce, I probably won’t be back…

The owners of Kalbq weren’t getting enough business so they closed that and reopened as Matt’s. I was excited when I saw a Quinoa Mushroom Burger, but boy was it bad. The patty was too fried and felt like a bad frozen patty from the grocery store. Bad taste is one thing and the high price of $ 8 doesn’t help the cause. The burger came with ‘masala chips’ and they were your typical fried chips with little or no masala present. There is no fries or drinks combo offered. Last but not least the ‘signature sauce’ is just chipotle sauce which can be found elsewhere. I’ve only tried one thing and may keep it at that due to the high prices.

No health grade in the window? Hmm, what is Matt hiding? They sell Atomic Wings, but this is not Atomic Wings. Regardless, the wings are ok/​good, I would go back, I guess.
