We wanted to try a different chicken place and have walked by this place hundreds of times so we decided to order today. We ordered the whole chicken combo with pita, 2 sides(we ordered corn on the cob and Mac and cheese) and 2 sodas(we ordered Sprite). We also added a small order of nuggets. The whole chicken was very good and they placed it well in the packaging instead of just throwing it in like most places. The corn on the cob was good but they only gave us one. The Mac and cheese was gross, it tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese with extra elbows thrown in to stretch out the cheese. The chicken fingers were good but they were basically Purdue or Tyson nuggets which were deep fried. The soda wasn’t the right soda, they sent us Sierra Mist. The delivery fast. The most important parts were very good but if the sides were better and the orders more accurate, I’d give them 4 stars.

The best zucchini sticks, good gyro and salad(better then the Greek diners in NYC. I had it delivered and it was great!

–Surprisingly cheap for Manhattan –Old burger-joint style –Below-Average food(4⁄10), but lots to eat –Usually enough space to sit and have a quiet meal(at least on the Sundays I’ve been)

You can definitely do better than this spot. My chicken was extremely hot and came out burnt. The salad is poor here, it was drenched in cheap Italian dressing with lumps of lettuce. Pita bread is okay but how hard is that? Highly recommend not going here.

Fajita chicken over rice will not disappoint! I think it’s combo #16. Chicken is tasty, never dry or left sitting. Made to order. A little hole in the wall place but what gem is never found in one?

For a hole in the wall spot, the chicken isn’t bad! Options are pretty small(chicken, burgers, ribs, gyros… on sammies, platters or salads), but that’s kind of what you’re looking for here, no? They’ll put the chicken on the charcoal as you order it, so be prepared to wait a few minutes after you order. Totally worth it though, as the chicken is always hot, moist and flavorful. What else can you ask for when you order chicken… expectations are low :) Stop going to a diner for a lame chicken dish and come here(take out/delivery) for a better product at a better price. Most dishes are under $ 10. With online ordering available, def order ahead!

Wandered in because my boyfriend and I were STARVING. It reminded me of the old school establishments I used to go to as a kid in the 90s. A bit dingy and outdated, but good food off the grill nonetheless. I ended up getting the gyro plate and my boyfriend got the burger plate. The gyro plate was pretty good! The pita was soft, there was a lot of food on the platter, and it was all decently good. Nothing to complain about, really. Additionally, the woman who helped us was very nice. Not too much of a talker, but she was very accommodating. I probably wouldn’t seek this place out, but if I were in the area, I would stop by if I were hungry.

The chicken and ribs here are pretty good, but the sides, including the mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese are terrible. Taste like boxed potatoes and the Mac and Cheez has no cheese, just yellow in color and extremely bland. I would love to order from here more regularly for dinner but the sides make or break the entire meal experience. I may go back go back for just the ribs, but chances are not so good.

Beware, women behind counter will try to overcharge you! Went in today to get dinner for my girlfriend and I so I was going to order the half chicken with pita and half ribs with 2 sides. When I went to order, the women behind the counter told me there is a half chicken and half ribs special. I quickly looked at the prices and it seemed like a similar price so I agreed but asked her to throw in the pita from the chicken. She said ok. I then got my receipt and saw she charged me .75 for the pita. I then saw the price for the special is more than paying for the ribs and chicken separately. Approx 1.00 more. so I realized that she convinced me to buy something that is more expensive and less food. I brought up this discovery with her and she didn’t have a clear answer. It was either something about tax, or «that’s just what ppl order» but this was before tax and«that’s just what ppl order» is not a valid reason to charge more for less. She said she would give me back .75 for the pita and I reluctantly agreed even though it was still more expensive. But then she made a clear announcement to cancel the pita on my order. I told her if this is the way you treat your customers then I don’t want to eat here. «Cancel the order». I know 1.75 is nothing but I don’t like getting screwed. Be careful when you go here.

I have been eating here for years and I have never had a problem. When I order delivery from here it’s always quick. I love the ribs and the grilled chicken they’re very delicious. The chicken is always moist and seasoned perfectly. The chicken and ribs come with pita bread. The reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is because the side dishes are very bland, they just taste like they where poured out of can and have no flavor what so ever. I would rather order the ribs or the chicken and cook my own sides.

Decent chicken. Not a bad place for bbq style chicken, cooked over a gas grill. However tonight I found the chicken to be a little dry. The side of veg was OK, but I’d put a paycheck on it that its canned veg, just heated up. After 5PM specials become less special because they don’t include a drink. Hope you’re only thirsty at lunch ! Not a bad place, but nothing to write home about. Chow

Go here for the ribs! Never ever disappoints!!! Great always and fresh! A short walk from home and whenever im in the mood for something quick and satisfying I pop on here. The go to items are the ribs, half chicken, Greek salad, mashed potatoes and pita bread! I always get my food to go and when I get home its still hot and ready to be devoured!

I don’t think Lucky Chicken is the kind of place you’d stop inside if you were hungry and happened to see it, unless someone had recommended it to you. So consider this a recommendation for this fast-food alternative spot. I work in the neighborhood and never really noticed it until coworkers gave me a tip about it; since then, if it’s one of those rare days I didn’t make my own lunch to take in my nifty lunchbox, there’s a good chance I’m going to stop by Lucky and grab it to go. There’s not much offered in terms of service; small sit down area with a counter and I’ve taken food to go for almost all but one time. However, the girl I usually encounter is incredibly nice and I’ve never had anything but good vibes from the other staff here. I usually order my pick-up online and it’s really always punctually ready to be extracted out of the restaurant, so I can be back out the door. You’ll notice the menu is pretty vast, and as you may imagine where they shine is the chicken. A half chicken lunch combo meal is not to be missed($ 8.99); the chicken is prepared with love, so it’s soft and tasty and the two sides don’t hurt either. Salad and beans are a good combo, their fries are pretty decent but I’m not a fan of the mac and cheese as it felt a little flavorless. Well, you can’t get everything right. The quarter rack ribs are great too, and I’m a fan of the gyro($ 5.99) here and there. Lamb gyro is better tasting than the chicken, but the chicken is very tender; not the best you’ll ever have but good enough for return visits. If you are looking for a healthy, muscle-building meal, the gyro sandwich without white sauce(or on the side) is the way to go; very hearty, filling and packing some LEAN chicken at the expense of some flavor. Lucky Chicken definitely has some Greek involvement somewhere in the ownership, so the gyros are a strong suit, as well as the souvlaki platters. Beware, they’re messy no matter how good you think you are, so you’ll be using a knife and fork eventually. I’m actively grateful that Lucky Chicken is where it is; you’ll get a quick lunch or dinner with no frills, for a reasonable price. With a menu so large for such a small place you can’t expect them to hit the bullseye on everything but they do a great job trying.

Not terrible but not the best. Definitely good value for the price. I always love the rice but the fries to me are definitely not worth it. The mixed vegetables were gross. I usually order the half chicken all white meat with rice and corn on the cob(which isnt very good but better than the mixed veg), my boyfriend gets the chicken fingers or nuggets with fries. Okay for every now and then

I first tried Lucky Chicken because it was close to my apartment. After my workout I will pick up food from there once in a while because who has time to cook after the gym. I always get the chicken souvlaki sandwich or the chicken souvlaki platter. The prices are great especially for the area. They give you a lot of food for the price. My boyfriend usually orders double chicken and the container is literally overflowing with food. As for quality I don’t think its top notch, more times than one I have found a nerve or two in my chicken which leaves me absolutely disgusted. That would be my only complaint. You should check it out its good for a quick dinner and relativity healthy!

This place is the only fast food spot worth going to in Kips Bay. Not many fast food options in Kips Bay area so it’s definitely worth seeking out if you only got 7 – 10 bucks, your alone and u have a hungry man’s belly. Like these are seriously huge portions so u will end up with leftovers. I come here for the barbecue chicken because it reminds me of good summer time bbq. The sides are pretty descent. Worth a walk if your hungry and broke.

The smell of charcoal broiled chicken fills the air before you even reach the doors. We came here a couple times since it’s close to NYUCD. They have affordable meal deals and you will leave more than full. The No4. Quarter Chicken Special is my usual order. It comes with your choice of two sides. Total comes to around $ 7. Though the smell of the chicken is amazing, unfortunately the flavors aren’t as mind blowing. I wouldn’t say that this is my favorite place to get broiled chicken. The skin is a bit underwhelming and the meat itself is not as juicy as I’d like it. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. If you have be in the neighborhood often, this place is gold. Seating is limited. This is self service type joint. Affordable prices with generous portions.

Eh, nothing specatcular. I was hoping for a great gyro sandwich, no such luck. They use the frozen gyro strips commonly found in Diners. To top that off, they wound up burning it:(But, I’m a fatboy, so I ate it anyway. I also order the quarter chicken… not going back. Update: 45 minutes later and I had diarrhea, sorry, but it’s true ! Don’t eat here !

Very delicious roasted chicken. Ribs were also really delicious & flavorful. Ordered from here so can’t comment on the restaurant itself but the food is damn good.

Decided to give Lucky Chicken a second chance and they deserve +1 star from my previous rating. I ordered the Lunch Special #4: Quarter chicken with 2 sides and a drink. I’m stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, not too salty and bursting with flavor. The meat peeled right off the bone. The pita bread was amazing as well. If you’ve ever had naan, the pita bread is just as delicious. Perfectly grilled and flavorful, wow. My tastebuds were dancing with joy this afternoon. The two sides I chose were salad and mashed potatoes. The salad was great except too much dressing(vinegarette?) but the mashed potatoes gave me goosebumps because it was sooo good. I’m not sure if its real potatoes or from the box cause I’ve definitely had better but for a fast food joint, these mash potatoes are highly recommended. After paying for my order I waited maybe 2 minutes max for my order to complete. I did go after lunch rush hour(2:15p) though.
