I work just across the street, so this place is a bit dangerous for me. The food is amazing; the falafel sandwich is big and packed with yum, so the price(more than at your local halal cart, where you get a tiny slice of tomato and some lettuce with your little falafels) is definitely worth it. I’ve had the lentil soup and potato bourekas, too, all delicious. And Gila and everyone is always super nice!

Gila is SO sweet and her sabich sandwich is great too! Would love to come back and try more things from the menu, with such great owners running the place and a sweet homie atmosphere, it’d be a pleasure stopping by!

Everything here was super fresh and yummy. We wandered in on a Sunday night and were the only customers for most of our stay. It got a little cold, as the place is quite small. They patiently waited for us to order, which took a while because we were waiting on some friends to arrive. Nibbled on some pita and hummus, which tasted really fresh and was thicker than most I’ve had — it definitely tasted different, but in a good way! We continued with the small plates, so we got some falafel and the kube nabousia, both also delish. Friends were hungrier and ordered the schnitzel and… something else, I can’t remember, but it was all devoured quickly. If you have any more room for dessert, get some rugelach and the chocolate babka cake — scrumptious. I’d definitely come back if I get the chance! The brunch menu looked great as well.

Nice little spot for hummus and pita. Not out of the world, but worth it for a quick lunch spot. The falafel was good. Very homey and a family oriented place. The chicken shawarma was a bit disappointing, it was a saucy dish and seem unlike what I had in the past. The servers and the«chef» lady was nice.

This place is almost too good to share with you friends-I’ve-yet-to-meet. I’ve been looking for a place like this for the last four years. My prayers have finally been answered. I’m so happy about Gila’s Nosh, I try to bring as many of my friends here as possible. And no one has been let down. It’s like going to the favorite of your friend’s mom’s place and being fed with love. Try anything and everything if you can. And, definitely let yourself have a little mint tea with dried fruit. Tops of your delicious dinner just right. I can’t wait to try this for brunch next!

Was hungry and decided to go into the store after a quick dentist appointment. The lady and her daughter were so sweet! Service is definitely a 5⁄5. I was the only one in the store. I was served water immediately as I sat to decide what to eat. I opted for a falafel sandwich which was huge, overflowing with falafel and simply delicious! The ladies were very nice as they left me alone to eat to take a break in the back(not sure if they did that for me). It would’ve been pretty uncomfortable for them to stare at me as I ate. The owner would ask me how the food was and offered more tahini if I wanted. I decided to order a Moroccan Tea which was delicious and warmed my body upon leaving. I also asked to purchase a pastry that was by the register because I was curious about its taste. The owner was so kind that she ended up just giving it to me for free. Awesome place and lovely and cozy people!

All the amazing reviews on Unilocal for this place confuse me… because frankly I thought Gila’s Nosh was really quite terrible. I will say the service was friendly and quick, so two stars for that. But the food is straight up terrible and unbelievably overpriced. A bowl of lentil«soup»(which I put in quotes because this wasn’t soup at all but just over salted, boiled lentils) + a salad(which was just a tiny portion of chopped tomatoes and cucumbers) set me back $ 11 + tip. I could have had a better lunch at Hale and Hearty for half the price. My co-workers weren’t thrilled with their falafel salads but I didn’t try them so I can’t comment. Not sure what happened as so many people are obviously head over heels for Gila’s Nosh but I won’t be returning and can’t recommend this restaurant at all.

I just came to this place yesterday in desperate need of some coffee to slap me awake… This place is nearby so decided to come here. I also have the Cups app(IT’S a good app! Download it now!!), so I wanted to redeem one of my free cups of coffee. This place is a bit small but don’t let that deter you from going in. It’s a warm little bubble of deliciousness and satisfaction in there. Not only is the staff very accommodating and friendly, they’re also very techy and understanding. I got the large cup of coffee with foamy milk and it was steaming hot(which is perfect for a cold cold day). It had good flavor and was a large portion. My friend also got coffee, but the coffee that she got was cold. We informed the staff and they immediately replaced her cold cup of coffee with a piping hot one without any fuss and hassle. I saw some other people eating here too and it made me a little hungry too. I’m looking forward to the next time I come here. Maybe I’ll get some food with that coffee!

I gotta be honest, my partner and I both ordered the shawarma and did not like it. It was just chicken in sauce, no veggies or any typical Shawarma fillings really. I’m Israeli, so I was expecting a bit more. The whole thing just fell apart on us. Otherwise, we got the beef bourekas and they were really good; we ended up ordering more. Place is clean, customer service is good as they were very pleasant and attentive. We will be back to give this place another shot :)

I just love this cozy little place. Gila cooks everything with love and all the customers she considers her guests. Honestly, the best part of eating here was her, she is just such a sweet little lady. The food is not too fancy, it is home cooked mediterranean. When I visited with my husband, it was just what I needed. We ordered nosh smalls and loved the hummus, grilled eggplant, and falafel. I can’t wait to go back :)

Step right up into Mama Gila’s delicious kitchen. If you’re looking for a home cooking Mediterranean experience look no further than Gila’s Nosh. There’s about 8 seats in total and the place is super tiny, but I prefer eating here and getting the intimate feeling of being in someone’s kitchen. Onto the food, if you love mediterranean food than anything on the menu will likely meet your satisfaction. The offerings are pretty standard but there is a nice enough twist that Gila does on each dish to make it unique. We got plenty of appetizers like Falafels, eggplant, and hummus. But the real treat was the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. It was SO flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. Everyone should come once!

This place is tiny but delicious. I was nervous that we wouldn’t be able to get a table on a weekend and had a whole contingency plan in place. But we shouldn’t have worried… we were seated right away. We tried the Shake Da Shuka and an omelet both were delicious. The staff was friendly and we were greeted warmly and thanked on our way out. The food does take awhile to make once you place your order, but good food is usually not prepared fast.

Food is good, but no place like home food! Traditional Israeli food like Kobe and cuscus and tbit. Best is to call in advance to check what’s on the menu. The cook for same day and what ever last they will five

You know you’ve walked into the right place when you feel like you’re crashing someone’s family dinner. In this case, you’ll be crashing a little Israeli lady’s family dinner. And oh, will it rock! In the span of half an hour I overheard Middle Eastern languages I wish I could identify, sang happy birthday to the cutest kid, watched that child’s mom help Gila carry plates of food(true family style!), and devoured everything in front of me. I ordered the house-made hummus, bourikas(baked philo with spinach/feta or meats), and grilled eggplant. The dishes were served with warm, fluffy pita. Somebody hold me… because that hummus was the best I’ve ever had. The spices on top took it to a different level. The eggplant and bourikas were also fresh and delicious. In sum, Gila and her son are winners. Now excuse me while I curl up and nap it off!

This is a cute little café. Let’s start with the staff! So friendly and nice. Easy to talk to and just creates a welcoming atmosphere! It has a nice comfortable feel and the Greek music really makes the café. Keeps you feeling relaxed and at ease. Definetly a mini get away from the chaos of the city outside! Even though I didn’t get a chance to order a meal I had their hot chocolate and it was pretty good! Made really well and served in a cute cup with foam work. I would definetly come here again.

Wow wow wow Was looking for quick and easy carry out and stumbled on this place. It’s pretty small and pretty typical looking for a small eatery. Now onto why I was totally wowed by this place: The people working there were so friendly and nice! The guy at the counter patiently explained a bunch of stuff and then helped me pick out some awesome food. The woman cooking in back was so warm and sweet, she profusely thanked is when she brought out our food and then gave us a box of baklava on the house and drizzling honey and fresh nuts on it. The food was soooooo delicious! Really authentic and super fresh! We had: — lamb kabob: flavorful, melt in your mouth texture, it was the favorite of the night — schnitzel: crispy on outside, tender on inside, what more could you ask for? — labne: yogurt based dip, had never heard of it before but loved its creaminess and flavor! — eggplant: yum yum yum! warm and soft, in a delicious sauce(tahini based?) — hummus: good but average — baklava: usually I don’t like baklava because it’s too sweet but this was the best I’ve ever had!!! It’s shaped in small cylinder, super crispy and not too sweet. definitely a must order! Prices are super reasonable which makes this fantastic meal a tremendous value. This place is definitely made it into the list for our regular places in the future!

I am soooo obsessed with Gila’s Nosh; I’ve come here 3 days in a row for lunch. Gila’s is a super-cute family-run business of Greek women and a signature cute young guy who makes awesome Upside-Down coffee. You must try this special Upside-Down coffee that he invented. He apparently roasts the beans«upside down» giving it the name. I always get it iced because he adds a lot of cream and sweetens it slightly. The cream must be homemade or some special brand because it tastes fresh and lovely. Of course, you can customize this drink to the amount of sugar and cream that you would like. And the foooood! Sooo good! Serving breakfast/brunch all day is a huge plus in my book, because I love eggy breakfasty stuff. I’ve tried the Sabich sandwich here, which is on par with Taim’s sabich. This is a traditional Middle Eastern dish of grilled eggplant with a smokey flavor. They add red pepper, homemade hummus, boiled egg, and other delectable sauces in here. I absolutely love it. And the hummus here is so addicting; homemade with tahini, spicey red pepper leaves a unique flavor in the mouth. I will definitely be back here for more deliciousness and lunch breaks during my work in the area! What really makes Gila’s special is the home-cooked love I feel from the food and beautiful little plates. I feel as if I am visiting a Greek grandmother, and I would love for her to adopt me!

Absolutely blown away by this place. Came here on a Sunday afternoon the place was empty. Very simple sleek black and white décor. I had no idea what to order, Gila was there, she helped us order. Everything was amazing. The falafel here is unlike any other I’ve had, crispy outside, light fluffy on the inside, perfect. Had some Tomato based brunch dish(have no idea how to spell or say it but will post a pic) but it was delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone trying Mediterranean for the first time or people eating it for years. Great food. Gila is an angel and the restaurant has a comfortable cozy feel. Can’t want to come back.

Ordered chicken shawarma on whole wheat pita and an iced upside down coffee. The chicken shawarma had an overload of hummus in it, which is great if you’re a hummus fan. It was a little on the greasy side, but overall the taste was great. The serving size was HUGE, so it actually makes sense why it’s slightly more pricey than other shawarma places around the area. I highly recommend the iced upside down coffee. I don’t like black coffee, so this was the perfect mixture and taste with two packs of sugar.
