Decent selection of sushi & sashimi. I went with the S&S combination. Good to Better quality. Portions average size Reasonable cost for the quality. Ambience average Great service, although it was a lighter crowd due to it being later at night. Finished it off with a couple scoops of Green Tea ice cream — All good — Enjoy.

Love this place! The sushi is always tasty, and they do takeout! They also give you complimentary tempura carrots if you sit in.

Had the tempura and Saba combo plate with some sushi on the side. All good but I really liked the value too! Need to come back and try more.

Masa’s Sushi is my go-to Japanese restaurant in the area. Excellent service, delicious food, polite and friendly staff. I’ve tried some of their rolls, seaweed salad, sashimi, teriyaki chicken, and teriyaki salmon. Everything tasted amazing and all reasonably priced. I can always rely on this place to make me satisfied!

Always love dining in, but my experience ordering to go was awesome. The waitress taking the order is so clear, thorough and helpful– repeats your order as well as card info(simple, but not all places do this). Also– didn’t realize you can get Ankimo here in an appetizer format. Winning! Fast– ready after 15 – 20 minutes for pick up after calling in which is quicker than other sushi restaurants I’ve ordered from.

I am gluten intolerant and the wait staff went out of their way to explain to me what does and does not contain flour and even soy sauce! Great meal and not being sick afterwards –priceless!

Japanese owned with comfortable lighting and bench seating. Their yummy chips are a unique dish that I’ve never seen elsewhere, with avocado and spicy tuna on shrimp chips. A great little neighborhood joint(with ample parking).

Masa’s is definitely a contender for the tastiest Sushi restaurant in town. Whether they are preparing raw food or cooked food, the chefs here know what they are doing. I got the Bento Masa(I’m 80% sure that’s what it was called, but take a look at the photo below to verify the dish), which has a generous combination of different sushi, seaweed, and a seafood salad(this had imitation crab, roe, shrimp, tomato, and avocado). All in all, the Bento Masa was the entrée that appealed to me most on their menu, and I was quite satisfied by the taste and quantity. Together, my table also shared a Hamachi Kama as well as some dessert(Mango Mochi & Green Tea Ice Cream Topped with Red Bean). The Hamachi’s texture was not uniform(different firmness/softness throughout). I am unsure whether this variable texture was a consequence of it being such large piece, but both the softer and harder parts of the fish were palatable and rather enjoyable. As for the dessert, the Green Tea Ice Cream was what I expected(which is not a bad thing), while the Mango Mochi surprised me since the dough was mango-flavored as well. The mochi dough’s aftertaste eerily reminded me of mango Hi-Chew though. Now, for a few comments about the menu, price, and the overall service. I was slightly disappointed to see that their combination bentos only allowed you to pick two entrees unlike some of the other Japanese restaurants nearby that let you choose up to three. The dishes here also seem to be slightly pricier than other Japanese places I frequent, but I still think that Masa’s dishes are fairly priced because of their superb quality. As for the service, the waiters were friendly but not always the most attentive. We asked for tea near the beginning of the meal but never received them. We didn’t repeat the request as the meal was still enjoyable without, but I still wished our waiter remembered. Our waiter also did not clear all the dishes between the main meal and dessert. Masa’s Sushi serves rather good Japanese food. Though it is not a perfect restaurant, I still think I will be back for more. Edit 7÷27÷15: I found out the dish I was referring to above(Bento Masa) was called the Tomo Bento. I also added a new picture. One of today’s specials, the lobster tail tempura!

First time going here as a friend recommended me this place. I loved the place. The workers are friendly. Prices are extremely fair in my opinion. I ordered a dinner combo; specifically Chicken Teriyaki and Tempura. It was excellent! The chicken wasn’t over cooked to where it was dry, and the tempura was fried well, as in it wasn’t doused in oil. Will definitely come here again!

I am a regular at this spot. Don’t be deterred by the look of it from the outside. This is truly one of those hole-in-the-wall gems in a dilapidated building. Once you are inside, you will forget it. The sushi is really good and at a reasonable price. They serve these yummy tempura carrots for an appetizer. I crave those all the time! If you like good service, Masa’s will not disappoint. They always remember my regular order and humor my husband’s requests for a few changes to his order. I always get the chirashi. I recommend it highly. The other don bowls are good, too. I will be back soon, like maybe even tonight…

Just came here for the lunch special while doing my laundry next door. Upon entering the workers at the sushi bar yell hello to everyone, they are very friendly. I was sat quickly. I ordered the 3 plate lunch combo, I got the yellow tail and salmon sashimi and the chicken katsu. I wasn’t a huge fan of the katsu. It didn’t seem like it was fried to order, the texture seemed like it was under a heat lamp. The sashimi was good. It was 3 slices of each fish although I thought they were thin, they were tasty. I really liked the yellowtail but the salmon was also pretty good. I didn’t like the ginger sauce on the salad which I usually love when going out for sushi so that was sort of a let down. The miso was good. The service was also pretty good so I think 3 stars is fair. It’s nothing to write home about but it’s a solid meal.

Decent sushi restaurant by itself in a run down plaza. Prices are really fair, and you can get a simple sushi platter for $ 11 at lunch! I got the 3 item bento of california roll, sake sashimi(3 pieces) and tonkatsu. Soup was hot and good, and shortly later our food arrived. The bento itself is not overwhelming, in fact, I ate it all, minus the rice. Salad was good, tonkatsu was perfectly fried, california roll was good, and the salmon sashimi was thin but fresh. For $ 13, it was a good combo. Nothing out of the extraordinary though, but would come back if in the mood for some Japanese food.

The best thing about this place is their fresh sashimi. Go ahead and order anything with raw fish and you will not live to regret it! Top pick: Love their Salmon Don. Very fresh salmon slices Not bad: Fried soft shell crab. Tasted better with the dip than without. Rolls: Both were good. Fresh fish. 1. Crazy roll — different types of slice fish(salmon, yellowtail etc) on a roll stuff with unagi 2. Spicy jack — tempura(was a tad soggy) and spicy tuna roll topped with fish egg roe Their sashimi set(~$ 25) was very aesthetically pleasing! It was an assortment of nigiri and sashimi. 10 points for presentation! Woo-Hoo! Dessert: 1. Mochi — I would go for the red bean! 2. Ice-cream — Green tea with red bean always hits the spot OR vanilla with Yuzi sauce. Love the Yuzi sauce!!! Very refreshing and citrusy. Ambiance wise very clean and tons of «woody» tones.

A bit pricey(what sushi place isn’t in the Bay Area though?), but they have good fish and a nice variety of rolls as well. Chirashi is one of my favorites here since for only $ 15(or so), you get a nice variety(and a dark tuna, some egg, and ikura and fish egg). Randy F. was right! Please follow him for all things Chirashi. We also got a caterpillar roll and a another one with fish on the top. The rolls are kind of small for their price(if you really like rolls, try Hon sushi instead), and they have fewer fresh fish rolls. That is, most of them have have cooked food inside: bbq eel, shrimp tempura, etc. They have a few things that I haven’t seen elsewhere though, including a few with lemon slices on top and some with asparagus inside. Interesting if you want to try a different take! Their menu is a bit big, and some of their combinations seem a bit dubious, but for the few things I tried I liked them a lot. The menu is tough to navigate, but I’ve enjoyed myself the times I’ve come. The overall experience is quite nice. It’s busy on a weekday night, so it has that good atmosphere, and they give you complementary carrot tempura to start. They’re also quite fast, very attentive, and have ample parking. I’m a fan.

I really love this place because its the best sushi you could probably get in the area and its very reasonably price for the amount of good quality sushi. The ambience was just like being in Japan again, and the service was quick and efficient! Now they are are open on Mondays!

I ordered online and they were super friendly, I was already a fan without even tasting the sushis. The order was ready when it was picked it up and the sushi was fantastic. Great quality for a reasonable price. I can’t write anything about the ambience of the restaurant since I didn’t pick up the order but I will definitely order again.

Most pathetic sushi I ever had??? Maybe they just skimp on to go orders because we aren’t there in person to send it back. I ordered regular sushi rolls, $ 4.50 a piece which is standard price. I got spicy tuna, eel, salmon, and fatty tuna($ 6.95). What I got were the smallest sushi rolls I have ever seen. They barely had ANY filling in them. With most of them you couldn’t even taste the fish over the soy sauce. I’ve uploaded a picture because it was just such a sham. I’ve had awesome cheap sushi before but this was outrageously stingy and pathetic. Never.again.
