I have visited this place atleast once a month for the last few years. Last week I attempted to visit for my monthly fix and the whole building was gone. Sigh. I’m going to miss this little spot.

This little place is great! I stumbled upon it on my way home and I was so happy! I had the lunch bento box that was very responsibly priced. But I would have paid $ 5 more for the quality! :)

A lil expensive but the crunch roll is the best I’ve tasted anywhere. Always get that every time I go there. Had soft-shell crab for the first time and it was a waist of time. Wifey got the teryaki sushi and Gouza bento. Was good. You have to get the crunch roll. Big(Large) size for 16 $.

I used to like this place but the food quality & service has really gone down… I ordered the unagi roll, it was supposed to come with avocado + cucumber. They forgot the avocado, and when I asked about my meal, they scrambled around on what to do. Ahem, take it back and make me pay for what I ordered, it’s that simple. I also ordered the caterpillar roll… Let’s say I’ve had better. In regards to the service after that, they were just unwelcoming. I’ll take my money & tummy somewhere else.

Small place with friendly people working in the restaurant. Had a rainbow roll today, it is kind of pricey for the large one but it hitted the spot. Truly a hidden gem around the area.

The floor was kinda dirty so my mom was worried about the food quality. The portions were pretty small. I got the Chirashii Delux(spelling was weird) and it was okay, but less than I would have expected for 21.95. It was also pretty quiet and located by itself in an area with nothing around, which might come in useful for conversations. Typical miso soup and Japanese waitresses. edit: Saw the business owner’s response — I should clarify that the food quality was good. Just trying to leave a fair review.

I visited Oh My Sushi during a business trip to California, and I was not disappointed. I ordered multiple rolls as well as appetizer salads and all the food we tried was good. They have a wide selection of Sushi rolls, and they are also willing to adapt them to your preferences. We visited the place a little bit late so we were the only customers, and service was supremely fast. Overall, we spent 20 dollars per person here for good sushi, and we ended completely stuffed; worth the visit if you are looking for some affordable sushi.

I came here for lunch and it was surprisingly empty. Several other customers entered later though. Hawaiian Roll –I thought this roll was a bit too heavy. However, I would be fine with eating only two or three pieces of this because I did like the sweet sauce and macadamia nuts! I would have never thought that macadamia nuts would go well with sushi, especially seaweed. Sashimi Medium –The salmon’s texture was fine, but it didn’t taste too fresh. The tuna’s texture and freshness were both lacking. This was quite disappointing since I usually weigh a sushi restaurant’s rating on the quality of the sashimi. Fried Green Tea Ice Cream –The fried batter was a bit thick, but I loved its crispy texture. The green tea ice cream by itself tasted pretty good. Paired with the tempura shell, I really liked this. However, do note that they give a lot for this dessert. Share this with a friend or else it might be too much! I rate this place a 3 for the unsatisfying sashimi plate. A sushi place should have fresh fish no matter what! Everything else should just complement imo.

A nondescript hidden gem that has managed to keep itself hidden from the techies. Came in at 7pm on the Sunday following the 4th of July to a small restaurant with the perfect amount of people. Enough to feel confident about the restaurant selection, but not over-populated like Sushi Tomi. The sushi is very good. Easily 85% the quality of sushi tomi @ 65% of the cost. The salmon roll with lemon and the hamachi roll were all stars. The fish was served at the perfect temperature. Sometimes if its too cold the texture can be too firm and if too warm it can be smiley. It was just a touch colder than room temperature and was super fresh and delightful. I’ll definitely return.

I love small hole in the wall places but I can’t in good faith give a higher rating. I came for lunch and tried the 3 item combo with spicy tuna roll, saba shioyaki, and salmon sashimi. I also tried the sashimi sampler and the fried ice cream for dessert. For the combo, the spicy tuna roll was fairly average and the saba shioyaki was pretty typical. The salmon sashimi was solid for the most part except for one slightly fishy piece. I was pretty impressed with the value of the whole combo since it also came with rice, soup, and salad. The sashimi plate wasn’t as good. The tuna had a very mushy texture that did not seem fresh. The yellowtail flavor was rather off and my friend had the same opinion. Salmon also was served in this plate and it was about the same as in the combo. The fried green tea ice cream was pretty good. It was still crispy and I had no complaints. Overall an ok place but fish quality is most important at a sushi place and it wasn’t that great.

My friend and I called in about 15 minutes prior to coming to location, and when we got there, the location was a bit hard to find. It is in the corner behind a building with a small parking lot. The front of the restaurant doesn’t face the street; it is perpendicular to street. Inside, there is a sushi bar, enough for 10 – 12 ppl. Next to bar was a cute toy train set up. The décor was cluttered but in a somewhat adorable way. There were also tables for larger groups. We went to pick up, and we still had to wait 5 minutes still awkwardly standing in middle of restaurant. I ordered a rainbow sushi roll, and my friend ordered the brother roll. We enjoyed the brother roll better, probably because of the combination of it being fried and containing cream cheese. The rainbow roll was good, but just not as good. They packed soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, standard complimentary items with the to-go order.

I think I can sum this place up in a sentence. Come here if you want mediocre freshness, but generous portions.

Cash and card accepted. Oh My Sushi is in it’s own little lot and offers some parking(maybe 10 – 15 spots?) There is one large TV above the sushi bar that plays sports. I went in on a Thursday night around 8 pm and it wasn’t that crowded. I ordered the 3 item combo with chicken terriyaki, tempura, and salmon sashimi to-go and it ended up being a little over $ 17 before tip. Pros: — Friendly hostess/server — Food was ready in less than 10 min. Cons: — Chicken terriyaki was rubbery like it was microwaved too long — Tempura batter was a little thick — Salmon sashimi tasted fresh but not that great of a quality Overall I don’t think I’ll return to this restaurant because I didn’t care for the food much. I feel bad for giving the restaurant such a low star because the hostess/server was so nice.

The sushi family platter is an amazing deal, and the sashimi is always huge thick slices. Of all the sushi restaurant iterations this location has seen, this is by far the best. I find the quality to be quite consistent(B+/A– freshness) but the sashimi portion sizes are what keeps me coming back.

They forgot my nephew’s order, and by the time it came in everybody else was done already and the server was very rude and was giving us these looks, I do understand that she was alone but that was not an excuse for being rude, We came in coz the review said 4 star ‚ Very disappointing, smh

My new go-to lunch sushi spot in the Palo Alto/Mountain View area! Their lunch special, «Oh My Bento» is a great deal, with the basics: Chicken teriyaki, California roll and gyoza. I usually get that and a small roll to share with a buddy and we are always stuffed. Their teriyaki chicken is super consistent with reasonably soft chicken and a good helping of sauce. Their gyoza is crispy and delicious. There is a little inconsistency in the filling of California rolls for the Oh My Bento, perhaps because they make a lot of these in advance for the lunch rush. Their salad dressing on the sweeter side as far as Japanese salad dressings go, which I don’t mind at all! All in all, a solid lunch spot for affordable Japanese! I’ve already been back, twice!

Japan pizza sweet and spicy. Fried fish pieces! Fish jaw was enjoyed. Sushi train! brings you the goods presumably. Late lunch(no crowd) means food just handed to you. Boo.

Look through Unilocal and you’ll only find two sushi places within a few miles that warrant a 4-star ratings. And now factor in that Tomi is PACKED at lunch. So what do you do when you want sushi, but don’t want to wait 30 minutes for all the other tech monkeys to finish their bento boxes before you get seated? You drive to Oh My Sushi to try it out! And I’m glad I did. I give it a strong 3.5 star rating, rounded up for funsies. Let’s break it down … Ambiance: Let’s admit it up front, they’re not winning any awards in this department. The outside looks like a scene from Clerks; the parking lot is weird and the signage is all dismal. Walking in, it’s a bit cleaner and nicer, but there’s really no strong décor. One plus(if you’re juvenile like my friends and I) is that the sushi bar has a train permanently looping around on it. This isn’t the same train that delivers endless $ 2 sushi plates at those slightly questionable sushi joints, it’s just a train. There’s also nobody in the joint, which bothered me quite a bit at first. You’d expect a good establishment to have at least some patrons … hell even crappy places in the bay area have SOME patrons. Service: There’s one lady doing front of house, and the sushi chef. If someone else works there, they were hidden away in the back and never get to see the light of day. With only 2 – 3 tables running, the lady was doing a great job of taking orders, refilling water, etc. I don’t know how she’ll fare if they get busy, but I’ll stop trying to speculate. The sushi chef is slightly slower than at other restaurants, but not annoyingly so. All in all, very good service. Food: Our party was slightly split here. I thought the fish was fresh, tasty, and definitely worth coming back for. The only fault I could find was that the cuts on some of the salmon weren’t great and ended up shredding a piece or two. The sushi was also tightly packed, and the rice had meaningful flavor that added to the whole bite. The others at the table thought it was good, but weren’t wowed. Value: We went crazy. We ordered expensive stuff for lunch, so we couldn’t fault the restaurant for the size of our bill. I’d say it’s on par with the prices at Tomi. Is that good value? Yes, in the case of sushi, you end up getting what you pay for. If you want cheap sushi, you get frozen tasteless stuff that you pay $ 8 for. Paying the $ 12-$ 15 means you end up with good quality fish that really has flavor and you can enjoy. All in all, I’ll be going again!

It was a Saturday night(actually, it was last night) and I felt like going out for dinner. I searched for about two(2) hours on the computer debating where I should go. Suddenly, it just hit me –sushi sounds awesome. Unfortunately, every place in Palo Alto seems to be on the expensive side, usually quite slammed(base on my past experience) and usually doesn’t taste that different than cheaper spots. LOCATION Probably difficult to locate if you weren’t looking for it. I looked for this spot at night, so luckily they have the«sushi» letters lit. PARKING They have a small parking spot around the block; behind the main street. If you are lucky enough to catch it empty, then you should be able to find a parking spot. Otherwise, you will need to find a spot on the street. This private lot is shared with three(3) other businesses. OUTSIDE Nothing really stands out from the outside(remember, I ate here during dinner time). From my first impression though was that they place looked really small –then again most sushi spots are small. ENTRANCE I was greeted with a sweet, soft waitress(which I find out later on that her name is Katrina –receipt it was printed on). I asked to be seated at the bar(given that I came solo I figure it didn’t seem as sad if I were to eat at the bar alone). Happily granted, she placed the menu there and served me water while I debate on what I should consume. INSIDE It is a rectangular little restaurant. Probably couldn’t fit more than 50 people. Upon your entrance, on the left hand side there is the sushi bar and chef. On the right –and pretty much around the bar– has tables for groups of four(4). Upon my entry, there was a group of two(2) and four(4). A few others came in during my dinner which was great for them :) SERVICE Katrina and the Chef was very polite, professional and warm. They really made the ambiance on my Saturday meal very pleasant. I enjoyed it. They both smile when they greeted me and speaking to me. Which I love(you know me and smiles –comes hand-in-hand with customer service). FOOD I order(what I usually order at sushi restaurants) a bento box with salmon teriyaki(teriyaki on the side), tempura veggies and usually comes with salad, miso soup, rice and(sometimes) edamame beans. The salmon was very well cooked –tender, full of flavor and the tempura was perfectly cooked. I also ordered a roll(which I do not know the name of because I ordered it for two(2) most important reasons: it was spicy and a tempura sort of roll :)). That was delicious as well and I savored it as long as I could. I ordered a small house saki for myself just to help me relax a bit(I had a long stressful week at work). Once I rested for about 10 minutes or so, I ordered a hand-roll Spicy Hamachi(actually, this was suggested to me by the chef. The last time I ordered something off the menu at a sushi spot, it ended up being incredibly delicious). It was very good. I’m not sure if that was on the menu, but I definitely would trust his recommendation again(should’ve asked for his name). VERDICT I will be returning here again on my next weekend off. Just because of this spot, I might make my Saturday evenings(when I have it off) a dinner at Oh My Sushi time. Thank you to the chefs and waitress this night(9÷13÷14), it was a wonderfully pleasant experience. See you soon!

PARKING Horrible small lot I came in during my lunch. It wasn’t crowded at all. There was a waitress and a sushi chef. After seating myself for 10 minutes, I stood up and grabbed the menu myself. The chef saw and apologized… I’m giving this place 4 stars soley because of their chirashi bowl. YUM! I always order chirashi everywhere I go and this is probably one of my favorites.

Das Sushi war sehr gut. Bento Box war ok aber nichts besonderes. Für diese Leistung waren die Preise recht gesalzen. Wir haben zu zweit für ein Mittagessen 40 $ bezahlt. Ambiente war einfach, aber OK.
