Oh my goodness oh my goodness!!! This is one of the best sushi places in the Bay Area. It’s worth the drive no matter where you are. Juan has some of the most creative chef specials & the saki is unbelievable. Peter the owner is always making sure your order is up to standard and if not he will make it right. The 88 roll is awesome!

This is for the AYCE only. We’ve been coming to this place for many years for the AYCE because it is close by and the fish quality has been generally good, though the experiences have been mixed as there were times when the fish/rice balance is way off(too much rice). Our most recent trip was last week, and the second best service we’ve had there. First time was many years ago by an older lady, and last week was by Ceci. She is young and very attentive, but not intrusive. Her friendliness and excellent service was what motivated me to write this review after all these years, and for the extra ½ star rating to move the average from 3.5 to 4. The prices have been increasing and now we find it to be about the same as if we were eating at a regular sushi restaurant for the same amount of food that we can eat. Last week was the best sushi we’ve had since their first year in business. The rice/fish ratio was good, fish was fresh, and the service was really good — Ceci offered to bring more ginger, more water/tea, and picked up our order form without us asking/waiting; yet we didn’t feel being watched all the time.

Nice looking place. Very relaxing and a good place to take friends. I never had Mido soup but this place made me love it. The bento boxes come with a great selection and a decent price. Great service and ppl working there are very nice. I’m coming back here again

The worst customer service ever. not only they made a mistake twice with my order, I had to wait 40 min and then the manager didn’t even apologize or offer compensation . And their sushi isn’t that good.

Came to meet my coworker for lunch, but they wouldn’t let me eat outside food even if I ordered something from them. Won’t be coming back here, terrible service.

I wish I could give them negative stars. I had out of town friends and we went to this place to grab some sushi since we were all craving it. Next thing you know we all have our heads in the toilet throwing up everything. This was the only place where we had food, so I know that’s where we got our food poisoning from. I’ve already reported them for food safety, so do yourself a favor and stay away. Disgusting!

Got food poisoning here. Couple of my friends and I grabbed some sushi here at weekend, and all of us had nausea and diarrhea the day after, so severe that I had to leave office and got back home. This was the only common meal we all had so I’m pretty sure the sushies were cause of it. For your own safety don’t eat here. (The 1 star I gave only cuz I could not give any lower.)

wont go back even if i am straving. The transparent thin fish over a huge lump of rice is not call sushi.

This review is for 3.5 stars. Solid reliable sushi and bento boxes, but nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. I’ve had both rolls and the bento box here and I always leave feeling satisfied. Everything is priced reasonably, if not a little on the high side when comparing to other sushi joints of similar menu selections and quality. The plus is that they offer a wide variety of rolls, both traditional and their own specials. Most of the special sushi combos consist of a variety of choices and combination of raw fish, but if you aren’t into that, they also have a small section for California roll varieties and baked rolls. The bento box comes in 2 and 3 choice varieties. Honestly I think these are a little over priced for what you get(I think it’s something like 16 and 19 dollars) so I prefer to go with the roll instead. However, if you go with the chicken karage as one of your bento no items, you do get quite a lot! Again, nothing out the ordinary or superb, but definitely does the trick if you’re having a Japanese food craving. NOTE: while this place does serve ramen, you will not find udon or sukiyaki here.

How have I never been here?! My dad had to tell me about it… I went here on a Wednesday afternoon after getting my car fixed at the wheel works next door and to my surprise I loved it! They do have a happy hour, m-th 5 – 7 and Friday from 4 – 6(something like that), they have sake bombs as an option, california rolls, potstickers, among other food and beverage options for happy hour. It’s pretty stellar, if you’re in the area I suggest you give it a go. Dare I say it was a bit filling and with the HH pricing of beverages I don’t think we spent more than $ 20.00 per person to be stuffed to the gills. The service was pretty good, great from the beginning but when more people came in it dispersed a bit. The main caveat is that they only have one bathroom for each sex so you could only imagine what that is like on the weekend/busy hours. They also have all you can eat for around $ 30.00 per person, if you waste anything you are charged! Alas, that makes sense as I feel wasting sushi is a bit sacrilegious. Overall I would love to come here again, great for a first date spot as it is close to the caltrain and other amenities, or to challenge your coworkers in a sushi-eating contest. I can see myself visiting this place soon, whether it be with dear-old-dad or some sushi-loving pals.

This sushi place is pretty good! The wait staff are really attentive and helpful; the sashimi is fresh and are pretty thick cuts; and it is a pretty good spot if you are wanting to go to department stores before or after(Kohls, Target, etc). The one thing that I was not a super fan of is how chilly it was in side for me! I felt like I had to wear my jacket the whole time even though they moved my friend and me further from the door so that we would not get the draft of wind when the door was open. Additionally, I recommend thinking about what you want and seeing if it is cheaper than getting a bento box or combination places. I was able to get 7 pieces of sashimi, miso soup, a side salad, and a Sapporo for less than 20 bucks because I just pieced things together.(Miso Soup is 2 dollars and a side salad is also 2 dollars)

We had the shoyu and tonkatsu ramen(along with a sushi roll, agadashi tofu, and a sake flight). Everything was well-priced and good. I attempted to order the ‘sweet and light’ sake flight, and received the fruity(lychee, plum wine, etc) flight. The fruity flight was tasty, as I’m sure the sweet and light sake was, too. Maybe next time?

During my visit to California, my family and I decided to come here for dinner. I was definitely very impressed! Between a family of 5, we ordered 5 rolls, and each of us also ordered ramen. Very delicious! I felt very satisfied at the end and would definitely come back here again the next time I am in the area. The pictures below are the Stanford Roll and the Spicy Ramen. The ramen wasn’t really spicy at all, but other than that, very tasty! The portions are large enough to be very full(I definitely could’ve stopped eating and had leftovers and still would’ve been full) but the food was so good I couldn’t stop eating. :)

Average place for all you can eat sushi. It is a lil pricy at about $ 30 for all you can eat sushi at dinner. But I guess I’m just used to the cheaper prices in Davis/Sacramento area haha. Theres a wide range of rolls, Nigiri, hand rolls, appetizers, etc. The rolls tasted fresh and pretty flavorful. They let you order up to three rolls per person in the group. But the MAJOR drawback is the fact that they’re actually serious about charging you if you have leftover sushi that you don’t finish. So we sat there for 3 hours trying to finish all the rolls between three girls LOL. But we did it. And then we got free ice cream(not technically free since its included in the all you can eat price). Id probably come here again for sushi since its pretty decent and all you can eat. But id definitely slow down on ordering so much at one go LOL.

Decided to try out this place, after hearing some great recommendations from Unilocalers, and I was not disappointed! Was very much pleased with my experience at Sushi 88. We ordered the 88 Roll($ 16.95) as well as the Fire Dragon($ 11.95), and both dishes were very tasty! The 88 Roll seemed to have quite the assortment of ingredients so at times it was difficult to discern what taste was in my mouth at any given time, but it was still pretty good, and they gave 10 pieces! Win! The Fire Dragon was pretty good too if you like crab meat and tempura shrimp. I do, so I LOVED this roll! We also had edamame and a bowl of Miso soup to start. These both served as a great appetizer to the filling meal we were about to have! The service was excellent and the food did not take long to be brought out either. Very pleased with this experience. With their extensive menu, I’ll definitely be back! Thanks Sushi 88!

Been here a few times for lunch with a co-worker and find this place to be OK. The freshness & quality of the sushi is pretty good, but I’d skip on the AYCE option(especially if you’re on a 1 hour lunch break). It’s on the pricier side & you can only order up to 3 items at a time — that DOESN’T includes a miso soup & salad. They also kind of take their time to bring out the food, as if they’re killing time to prevent you from ordering another round. Service here isn’t that great which is why I knocked off 2 stars. Note: Don’t order the Ahi Poke Salad here — — it’s the worst i’ve had. (see the picture I posted)

All you can eat Sushi for $ 30 is pretty expensive. But, consider the fact their rolls are around $ 14 average a la carte makes it worth it. You can select 3 or 4 items from the AYCE menu(which is huge) at a time. Each time I go here, I am only able to have two rounds of orders… roughly $ 40 – 50 worth of food. Quality of their fish is good. Presentation is wonderful and selection of food is great when you feel undecided. Skip the«& Ramen» part. It’s definitely not up to par with a traditional ramen house — not even close. You must order the garlic edamame! It’s served hot sauteed in garlic, chili, and green onion. The flavor is seriously addicting!

Sehr ordentliches Sushi. Wir hatten zweimal All you can eat Sushi.
