Paul’s Place

I have been a longtime fan of this place. Seating is an outdoor covered patio. Food takes a few minutes, however it sometimes takes longer since they prepare it to order.
Their menu is vast — burgers, sandwiches, Mexican, salads, broasted chicken. Plenty of sides and they do not skimp on portions so come hungry.
My favorite burger here is the California Deluxe. Toasted sourdough with avocado, bacon and swiss witg the burger patty. It’s delicious.
You can’t come here without ordering a side or two. My family and I usually split zucchini fries or onion rings or feta fries or french fries. An order is usually enough for 2 – 3 people if you are ordering a burger too.

Desperately wanted a philly cheese steak for lunch. Chose here, even though the most recent reviews were only mediocre. I placed a pickup order and waited the appropriate amount of time to leave work, and still had to wait nearly another 10 minutes once I arrived.
The prices did not match the takeout menu I had at the office, nor the menu I was given upon request. The philly might have been good, but the bread was stale. The steak was not shaved and fell off the sandwich in a giant chunk.
I ordered onion rings and got enough to last me for several meals. For $ 7 – 9 for a sandwich, I’d expect that price point to come with a small side of something.
**edit: I pulled the bread off, thinking that might help. The sandwich got worse. I will not return.

Paul’s Place gets an for effort and cheer of the people eating to order from the window and eat al fresco on the patio but I’ve seen too many better executions to understand how this place rates four stars on Unilocal.There is nothing about my experience that would compel me to come back.
The best things I can say about Paul’s Place our:
* the beef patties are a fair quality for the price of the burger
* the menu offers a lot of interesting choices
* eats cool to eat outside there should be more options like this in Southen California
Here’s what didn’t work for me
* all of our sides: French Fries, Feta Fries (which were really homemade potato chips), and Battered and Fried Zucchini were cold and unappetizing.
* The Feta Fries had potential has they been served hot — the kitchen looked too busy for me to want to deal with having them made fresh
* The fried zucchini was, and I don’t think I’ve ever used this adjective in a Unilocal review, was disgusting. I literally couldn’t take more than one bite

This place is really a hidden gem. The prices aren’t bad, the portions are generous, and the food is delicious. My go to lunch is the Chicken Caesar wrap, but you can’t go wrong with any of the choices.

I love this place so much! I’ve been coming here ever since I was a little girl. I’m always craving their chicken sandwich combo. The food is always amazing as well as the service. They always have oldies music playing and it’s a great atmosphere for families. I highly recommend this place for everyone.

I recently discovered this place on Unilocal.This will be my new go to place for fried zucchini and fried mushrooms. Both are really good. It comes out crispy, light, not too oily and the ranch is delicious. Their pastrami is the best I’ve had and I’ve tried a lot of pastrami sandwiches in my life. The pastrami is juicy and the bread is soft. Their club sandwich is also delicious. It comes with ham, turkey, bacon, American and Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato. The twister fries are also very good. It’s seasoned curly fries. The serving here is huge. Each sandwiches can be shared between 2 people and each sides of fries, zucchini and mushrooms are enough for 3 – 4 people.

Paul’s place is great. It’s our local spot for burgers and bean n cheese burritos (surprisingly).
We usually get the regular cheese burgers. Our daughters love the curly fries. They give you nice size portion for the price.
Pastrami sandwiches will curb the pastrami craving. And the feta fries will keeping you coming back for the feta. Thin sliced round scallop like fries covered in feta and topped with olive oil and parsley.

In Los Alamitos around LAHS there are two burger mom and pop chains that are Paul’s Place and Volcano Burger. Volcano is closer, but Paul’s Place is fresher.
I typically get the chicken mushroom sandwich combo with fries. It is very moist and large portions. They make it fresh to order and there are lots of choices. Pastrami, Greek, Mexican, and a variety of burgers.

So I am a local to this restaurant and I will start off by saying yes they have great food. But today I went to have breakfast and got the worst service. Breakfast is served until 11 am I show up at 11:02 and am denied brrakfast? Really! Eggs were still on the grill and all my daughter wanted was some french toast.
Anyways service provided by the girl with the tattoo on her chest go figure right!
Result: we left went to Johns up the street, they have breakfast all day.
Hey Paul’s next time make a sell and avoid the bad review. Train your employees better.

Great Greek salad with Gyro. Amazing portions and tasted excellent. The burgers looked fantastic too. The atmosphere is very nice. All covered outdoor seating. A lot of character. Next time I am in the area I will be back to try a burger or maybe the pastrami sandwich. Give this place a try!

First time in Los Alamitos stopped in at Paul’s Place. Let Let my just say it’s a hidden treasure, the food is cheap and the quality is amazing very friendly, and family friendly as well. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and with onion rings it was amazing.
I recommend this place to any one in the area.

Bacon Double cheeseburger add avacado is my favorite burger here. The fries where really good too. Made to order and the seating area is perfect when it’s nice out.

The amount of food you get is ridiculous!!! The food is fresh but my California burger was pretty dry. I had the zucchini fries and they were pretty good I didn’t expect to get a whole plate of them. The value is there but I think they should add some sauce to their California burger. My mouth was dry and a bit cut up from the toasted bread other than that not too shabby.

Paul’s has made a really superior burger for many years, but we hadn’t been back in a while.
So glad we did, because the burgers were delicious. We won’t wait to come back next time, when I’m going to try their appetizing gyro salad.
You can’t go wrong there.

My wife loves the Greek Salad. However, everything else is pretty mediocre. We have tried the bacon cheeseburger… ok (positive is lots of bacon), I think it is a California Burger on sourdough that was surprisingly bland, gyro plate had dry beef/​lamb, fried zucchini (had better), and the fries were not good.
Best thing about the place would be the helpful, polite staff

I always love Paul’s place. You literally cannot go wrong here with anything you order. EVERY item is delicious, fresh, and big enough to fill even the largest of appetites.
Tonight, I ordered the mushroom burger with bacon added. Boy oh boy… I cracked open the box and I swear I drooled all over my food. Steam coming from the burger, loaded with freshly grilled mushrooms and onions, 2 chargrilled patties and 2 slices of Swiss, crisp bacon, freshly toasted bun. What more can you ask for??? Paul’s never lets me down. BRAVO!

This place looks adorable on the outside but I wasn’t a fan of the food. It was cold when it was given to me and tasted like frozen fish sticks. Also there is a sign on the wall warning customers that the location is known for a bunch of mosquitos. I won’t be back

So much to chose from.
If you feel like carbing up and pigging out, this is definitely the spot. I have had the chicken sandwiches, cheeseburger, feta burger (mmmmm), Ooooo… and you can’t forget the feta fries. If you order the feta fries, the order is very large and could feed at least three people unless of course you are just there for the fries.
Seating is all outdoor on a large shaded patio, so it can be a little rough on a hot summer day. I will certainly be coming back here, I am looking forward to trying the Gyro.

LOVE Paul’s Place. This place has everything and anything. Their prices are inexpensive and the taste is delicious. A couple of my personal favorites are :
–the feta burger
–the greek chicken dinner
–the bean and cheese burritos
–the pastrami sandwich
All of these items are extra delicious to me but everything on their menu is solid. This location has outdoor seating only but it is shaded and when its cold they have heaters. I always come back for more and I suggest it to everyone.
